No, wateen is not great at all. They suck.
In Pakistan, the problem is monoply of such companies and because of that there is no concept of a proper customer support.
I first saw wateen's ad injang newspaper on 14th August saying their wimax service was launched and that people can register now. I registered the same day. They said someone from their side will contact me soon. No one did.
After about 3 weeks, I contacted them and they said inshallah some one will contact me till the end of september. No one did.
I contacted again and talked to them a bit harshly and they said now someone will contact me till the end of october. No one did.
And I said go to hell wateen. You suck.
I contacted them through email a lot of times and guess what, no reply at all. I have contacted customer support of world's top PC companies like intel, asus, microsoft, AMD and nvidia through email and they dont rest until they solve your problem.
In pakistan, every such company is just making people fool. They just LAUNCHEd their service on 14th august to stop people buying PTCL brodband.
If their customer support is pathetic like that before the start of their service, how can some one expect them to be better? After all, first impression is the last impression.
Yeah sure, Wateen's service seems cheap at first. But pay 8500 for their CPE and there goes the public-friendly tariff.
My friend got the details from their franchise. They say if no proper signals are coming to your home, then you will have to install an additional dish antenna worth rs. 4000.
Now to their competition, ptcl has made teir service much better. Download is free all night without any limit. And for first 3 months, you get 30 GB download limit.
I think PTCL is more economical than wateen, but when it comes to customer support, both are in a competition of sucking more than each another.
