Obviously, it was a success story. Organizing an event in different country and getting it filled with public and support from different countries is not a small achievement. The way the international players enjoyed playing with the local and rookie players of Pakistan is just explainatory.

Since I am not in Pakistan, I missed the hype..but my question was based on how people saw it, were they discussing in the office, were they making their plans around the matches?

The life is tough here in UAE things are not like what here in Pakistan you can bunk your office school in pakistan on daily basis if you are doing that here in UAE it means Deduction of salary
so if games happening in weekdays you cannot see the ground full that is why you only saw it full on Fridays and in FINAL match
Plus the timings of the matches were odd

Having matches at 3:30 Pm everyone is at the office at this time and everyone who lives here is a working class with exceptions of visitors
same goes with night matches happening at 9:00 PM on working day
lots of ppl leave office at 7 to 8pm including me so it is not possible to reach at stadium without having a car even having a car the traffic situation is worse you cannot be there on time you need to reach there 2 hours before the game

now come to the question
YES IT WAS A BIG SUCCESS PCB himself didnt expect that
the TV RATINGS records have been broken the audience saw it more than INDO PAK matches
even on youtube there were More than 1 Lac of ppl watching online here in pakistan at final

yeah the made money with advertisments and selling Media tv rights they even made money from online streamings

ppl are lack luster about Asia cup this is what PSL did to the PPL

Only Dubai was empty and that too on weekdays. Its not easy getting crowds in Dubai and its not just limited to PSL.

Dubai Duty Free Tennis tournament helds every year there. Out of the seats of almost ~15000, youll hardly see any one empty.
