I primarily use 3DMark03 and 3DMark Vantage for performance validation.Hey LeGenD123 I see you are running Q6600 at stock speed as well. What are your 3D mark 06 scores? Or do you use Vantage now?I think I am going to download vantage too. See how my scores turn out then.
I think what Ahsan meant is that normally Core 216 is clearly mentioned on the box. When it was launched GTX260 had 192sp units so it was not mentioned on the box as all the cards had the same units.I know this question was not pointed at me but I would like to say that you are mistaken. There is no such sticker on the box that says either 192sp or 216sp, in fact there is hardly anything mentioned on the box at all. There is just one random number written on the sticker which I am guessing is serial no.
Heck even 13.3 K ain't half bad. My score is truly the lowest you can achieve with q6600 + 260 GTX combo. Its kind of freaking me out.I primarily use 3DMark03 and 3DMark Vantage for performance validation.
3DMark06 is heavily CPU bound. At 100% stock configuration and settings, I got 13300 points. But once the CPU is overclocked, much higher scores can be achieved. But I am not OC'ing my system in these days.
However my new GPU tore through 3DMark Vantage even at stock levels. Never before I have seen all tests in this benchmark run so smooth. My old
GPU was no match against my current monster of a GPU in this program and neither in 3DMark 03.
Okay I get it now. Yes I was a bit curious when I didn't see 216 or MAXCORE or whatever written on the box thats why I asked the guy whether it was 216 sp and he said yes it is. I knew my instincts was telling me different that there is no way in hell a 216 sp card with an I-chill cooler can be this cheap in Pakistan but I was too excited at that time to listen to my own instincts. Lesson learned I suppose.I think what Ahsan meant is that normally Core 216 is clearly mentioned on the box. When it was launched GTX260 had 192sp units so it was not mentioned on the box as all the cards had the same units.
But when Core 216 version was launched it became necessary to mention this information on the box for clear identification. It's like when 9800GTX+ was launched. All previous cards were simple 9800GTX, and they continued to be called 9800GTX. It was not required to mention that this is not a + version, as the + version clearly mentioned it.
So if the card is a core 216 version, chances are that this information is mentioned somewhere on the box. Any box which does not have any such information has a big chance of being the 192sp version.
Yes I realized that too. I get slightly better framerate when I am playing at 1400X1050 but only in some games. Also at which resolution are you gaming ? More resolution also helps in solving the bottleneck issue, 1680 res should be ideal.
yar palit gpu is not available and it is not gonna come back......Just my 50 cents but palit's 4850 would have been a great buy if I were you. I mean you just overclock the coreclock and you pratically got a 4870. The palit cooler is also pretty good not better then the inno3d one ofcourse but does it job with temps staying below 60C on load and it even has gpu throttling.

guys if u guys are satisfied with ur buy then thats gr8.
now there is not point in talking now.
u had ur chances @fajoo..
trust me u can ask any user on the forums....
what a 4870 can do as compared to ur normal card..
its no where near the performance of the 4870...
i dont believe in 3dmark scores anyways...
its just for fun sake.....if u wanna test ur gpu then run crysis bench marks and show us what juice this card has...!!!

bro already posted crysis benchies in the first post....did u see the review of 4870 by ali tayab on WCCFTECH?? he had 4870, he later shifted to GTX260 core 216 why?? i ain't gonna get involved in arguement but the web is full of reviews of gtx 260 192/216 sp vs 4870 512mb/1gb, see 3-4 reviews and decide for urself if ur statement it true or not.......i am getting impression of fanboyism here :looking:guys if u guys are satisfied with ur buy then thats gr8.

yar u should read the thread from the start, each page and then tell me how you got the impression that i am not satisified with my gpu......i am still wondering how u r making wrong conclusions on my behalf :|GUYS , the dude made a mistake lets not RUB IT IN TO HIM , what ever he got he spent good money on it , he must be dissapointed but nothing can be done about it now . so let him enjoy his card as it is .
even if its a weak card fajoo play with it for some time , and at a later stage sell it of ASAP u might loose some money but if u can manage to get a 4870 even in used go for it , the performance is stellar.
i know the feeling of geting something and not geting good performance from it .
but still hang in there .
specially me....:wink2:to me..
80 percent pgers use to giv negative comments on buyers purchase!!!
The box itself will clearly say Core 216, its a mantadory thing to distinguish the normal and the C216s.I know this question was not pointed at me but I would like to say that you are mistaken.
