I haven't done any benchmarking as yet coz i just found out that it turns out to be a 192 sp version, while they have a link on their website to core216 version, WTF......Now you guys advise me if i should keep this gpu even if it has 192 sps as 192 vs 216 core versions don't have much performance gap OR shove it in galaxy's ass and get refund or hd4870??? plz gimme advise quickly.....

GPUz is not as accurate as we consider it to be. There is no GTX260 192sp I-Chill on Inno3D website which makes me believe that it might be a GPUz issue. I think you will have to search a bit to find out about it. Other GTX260 users who have Core 216 versions can help by posting their GPUz result.

Yes burhan i have just spoke to them and they say that it is 192 sp version, we didn;t find link for 192 sp version, so we mentioned 216version link (what a lame reason)....anyways, they can refund me full money if i want and i have till 6 pm evening for returning it......

Now, the other option i had was his 4870 1gb but i just found out that the one available on galaxy is not iceq version (although link goes to iceq), so cannot go for it either and don't wanna spend any more money.....

I have seen reviews and found that the difference between 192 and 216 sp gpus is very minor, max. of 5 avg fps......so i am thinking of keeping it as it is becoz the temp. performance is very good...............So wht do you suggest burhan??

gtx 260 core 192 vs 216 has a huge performance gap !!!this will help you..

thnx for the link but bro if you call that a huge difference then wht do you call minor difference??

fajoo dont worry if u can overclock with that awesome cooling than this is a better choice IMO ;)
Do overclock this to get the full potential.

and have seen the benchmarks and there is really very little difference. And u get better cooling than the normal gtx 260 ;)

Oh WOW nice, oh WTF ..... the ecstasy of getting a new kick-ass GPU and then finding out something might be wrong with it.

You should do some research and post it in other tech forums as well about your find. As Nomad said there is no 192sp I-chill on Inno3d website so hopefully it would just be a GPU-z issue. Might not be a bad idea to ring up the people you bought it from.

EDIT: I suggest you keep it, its a great card, an excellent cooler and would serve you well. You would have to clear your mind though and vanish thoughts of "oh what if i had that 216 version or got a refund and .. .. ".

Okies.
Waiting for them desperately, and do put a normal gtx 260 benchmark too for a comparison :)

I know that it can be overclocked to improve performance, but I personally would not recommend keeping it. At stock speeds 4870 1GB is better than GTX260 192sp, in some games even better than GTX260 core 216. Even though the 4870 available at Galaxy is not IceQ version, you won't have much temperature issues. If I had to buy one new GPU personally and had to choose between 4870 1GB (18,900) and GTX260 I-Chill 192sp, I would have bought 4870 1GB. Temperature issues were more concerning in 4850, not 4870, as it already has a dual slot cooler.

But I would urge you to reconsider your PSU choice as well. I currently have a Corsair VX450 which has 33Amps on +12v (396W instead of 360W of Asus). But I would never try to run such a GPU on this PSU. It is always better to have a bit of headroom when it comes to PSU.

CONGRATULATIONS FAJOO :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap
I am so excited to see this GPU (DJ) (DJ) ...... Cant wait to get my self one.

oright here is the thing.
You dont worry as its a 192sp version, its still A LOT better than that 216sp because its an IChill version. One thing i've noted in those reviews and benchies (which makes this card actually superior that others) is its overclocking potential with less power consumption & low temp under load. I personally liked that card because of this feature.
I dont know why Nomad is saying that 4870 at stock is better but i havent even seen 1 benchmark in which they said that 4870 is better than the 260, But as he knows better so I think you should also consider his words as well....
Even if this is a core192 & as its an IChill, its useless to compare it with the 216sp GPU. You simply cannot compare these two.
Haan i also had a doubt about that PSU which you got. But do tell us for how much you've got it.
& I till try to post some benchmarks for this GPU as well for your mental satisfaction.
