no i haven't ran any dedicated tests but DDL is working sweet and there is a huge difference from onboard sound, when watching high def movies the cpu load have dropped down to 3-4 % which was 22-35% before if i am not wrong

well the sound card costed me around 6k and i got it via a relative coming from states

about the dust ... well consider this ... the room was vacumed three days ago and its jharofied everyday :crying:

the 6.2 home theater setup costed me 34k however i would highly advice getting denon setup for around 35k if you have that range, the only reason i went with the current sony setup is that i got it from a friend on installments :D

the reason i have the case open is because i recently build up my pc say around a month back and since than i have either not gotten any time and ended up putting something new in the rig so feel lazy opening it again and again, and the last but not the least reason is that i have my eyes on a casing (check the link below) and i just don't want the idea of assembling everything into my current casing just to undo everything again

The casing i am talking about is this http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?language=en&act=detail&tbcate=17&id=5363

no i was saying that unless you have source (movie,music etc) is in dolby / dts your receiver will only pick it up as PCM (lossless stereo signal), the optic out which we normally find in onboard sound cards and other alternatives is of pass through nature (i.e. send the signal as it is without modifying) so when playing games you won't be able to get a true 5.1 surround when using optic cable, that's where technologies such as Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect comes in, they encode the signal in real time to DDL or DTS Connect which is picked and processed accordingly by your receiver

what if we connect using ext decorder [front rear center\sub connection in reciver through blue green pink connecter in pc][using digital to analogue cable]

does the dts enable option in sound card count for something?
<-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
dts or ddl which is better

to keep it simple if you want to do multi channel gaming and you are using digital connection than you would need a card which can encode DTS or AC3 on the fly, if we go into the details of things than perhaps DTS would be slightly better but even DDL isn't bad

if you can connect your speakers to your speakers via analogue than you don't need to go through the khuwari of DDL or DTS Connect, these techs are only required for digital connection to recievers / home theaters
