Salaam,

As many of you might know, I've been in Turkey for almost 3 years now and I've closely observed the systems here, and it saddens me too see that in Pakistani universities, at large, we're just teaching textbooks. Emphasis is more on solving the exams rather than picking up skills

Fortunately, in the age of internet, learning is no longer confined to the classroom (wait. Was it ever!)

I've personally found udemy a platform with loads and loads of tools to equip students to be better prepared for the work life that lies ahead.

So, I'd like to give back where I can.

Although there are a bunch of free courses online, the best usually are paid courses. And, I know, a lot of students either don't have means to pay for the courses, or, simply can't afford them. (I know I didn't!)

So, in order to overcome those two, I'd like to buy the three most deserving STUDENTS (in my eyes) a course each of their choice.

NOTE: I really want to do this for people who can't afford to buy them on their own, or don't have any means to buy them on their own. If you can afford to buy it yourself, please don't PM me as you'll be potentially taking away someone more worthy's spot.

Secondly, this is for CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS ONLY. The younger you are, the more your chances! I might throw in a 4th or even a 5th course in case I get kids who are in, say, O' Levels/Matric and want to pick up on skills from an early age.

__

So, how do you apply?

It's going to be a bit tedious but you'll have to bear with me.

PM me the following:

- Name

- School/College/University

- Level of education and degree. (If less than undergrad, simply specify which field you are aiming to pursue)

- Link to the course you're interested in

- A few words on what you aim to do with that course. (I don't want an essay! I just want to assess what your plans are and how useful that course will be to you!)

Optional but recommended:

- Your LinkedIn page

- A copy of your CV

I normally don't want to ask for people's CGPAs or grades because I don't believe that they truly depict potential as much as they should. Furthermore, there is a lot of variation between grading scales and methods from uni to uni. HOWEVER, if you feel the need to attach it along, by all means, go ahead.

PM me the stuff AND DONT keep PMing me in case I don't reply. I get more than 20 PMs a day and so it's very hard to reply to everyone. If you're a person who gets the course, you'll get the PM from me. Rest assured.

Finally, I'll be buying the courses on March 15, 5:00 AM Pakistan time, so, please PM me BEFORE that!

I know this got longer than it should've been, but oh well!

Good luck to you all, and happy learning!

Remember, PLEASE only PM me for a course if you actually plan on seeing it through and aim to use it ahead, be it for freelancing, or just another skill that you should have! If you want it just for the sake of it being a freebie, you're potentially taking up the spot of someone more worthy!

Ciao!

I'm also putting this up as an announcement so that as many students get coverage as possible.

Also, in case you guys have friends who would be interested, ask them to PM me too! There's no post requirement. Just that you've to be a student, and be deserving! I really believe we can fix our systems with education and each one of us has to play their part!

A great contribution there Abby. I wish that only deserving students opt for it.
Ps. If someone wanna learn game development. I would suggest selecting "Learn to code by making games - Complete C# Unity Developer". C# is one of the finest for game development learning

I truly appreciate the initiative @AbbY

Is there any chance a graduate such as myself, who also happens to be someone desperate to switch from an Accounting job to explore the realm of front-end Web Development, could avail this opportunity?

If so, could anyone suggest the best course on Udemy that not only sufficiently covers the basics of web development but also guides students on a more practical level so as to allow them to take on projects with ease and grace once they finish the course? The main components I am looking to master in a course such as this includes, but are not necessarily limited to, HTML, CSS, Javascript and Bootstrap.

Ultimately, I wish to learn back-end web development as well and cover components like PHP, SQL etc. but I doubt that there is a course that sufficiently covers the basics as well as the advanced stuff of both, front and back-end with the right balance. As a result, I fear that there may be a compromise made in terms of the breadth of syllabus covered if I opt for a Full stack Web Development course. Front-end Web development makes sense for now, I suppose.

PS: Sorry, I mistakenly skipped the bit where you mentioned this is only valid till 5AM 15/3.
