Twitch - Why the f*** won't it work on PTCL?

At this point I'm beyond fed up.

Last month I had close to 3 million visits from a PTCL technical respondant, thanks to the PTCLCares twitter handle. However that didn't resolve it. The problem? Twitch.tv and most downloads initiated through the standard web browser pull only 10-20KB speed on my 4MB connection. Torrents work fine.

Can we get a twitter hashtag going for this?

using 4meg PTCL connection here - twitch.tv works fine for me.

I also noticed you mention 'most downloads initiated using standard browser'. If that is the case, then twitch would probably not be the problem here, rather ur web browser not downloading at a reasonable speed.


Try the following:
shut down torrents (complete shut down of the application)
Use a different browser, a fresh install. I use chrome and it works like a charm.

Just checked now. Pulling 400KB/s on 4Meg PTCL DSL.

Well, refer to the sticky guide in this section, and let people troubleshoot your connection. I am pretty sure it has got something to do with your connection, rather than the twitch.tv.

Alternatively, you can try the downloads using a VPN (say, using Zenmate on Chrome), and see how much download speeds do you get.

Also try changing DNS servers. Sometimes local PTCL DNS servers are overloaded and result in slow browsing. It might fix if you try other DNS servers.

[MENTION=28]USUF[/MENTION] it's exactly the same for me. Twitch streams run for 4 seconds and then buffering starts Torrents are giving full 200kbps speed, but twitch lags :/ Patanahi kya karun, DOTA nahi dekh pa raha :/
