im gonna make this quick and simple to understand

and just so were clear this method can be considred a ihas burn

ihas is the name of the dvd drive not the firmware on the drive

the name of the firmware is

c4eva's iXtreme Burner MAX Firmware

what were doing is flashing any dvd drive to burn one game at a time once u remove the disc or the drive resets the flash is gone

So What is XGD3? It stands for Xbox Game Disc 3 which started rolling out onto retail Xbox 360 games about a year +ago. Compared to an XGD2, the game partition was increased by 1GB. This was meant to help developers with the increased memory for new games but also to combat piracy. The full iso of an XGD3 game now exceeded the 8.5GB limit on typical DVD DL discs.

This led to the truncate burning method
This involved pretty much burning the game as you would an XGD2. Only difference is that you just write till you ran out of room and then discarded the remaining data.since the last 200mb had no game data only security checks (this was not live safe )

Things you need
- Image file of game (.iso) already properly stealth patched through ABGX (make sure autofix is set to lvl 3)
- DVD+R DL disc (highly recommended to choose verbatims)
- C4E’s BurnerMAX Payload Tool in association with Team Jungle & Team Xecuter
- Imgburn
- Kprobe2
-a compatible burner for the burnermax program
(any burner can be used if burner max is enabled on it try and find out)

links at end

Why verbatims? Because they are high-grade quality discs (considered the best from tests), and since you’re pushing the discs past what they were intended, you’re going to need them. Better quality burns means less chance of errors and less work for your laser. There is no real reason not to use them. So I’m going to be assuming you are using verbs for this TUT

the burner im using is a lite-on ETAU108

1)Put your blank DVD+R DL disc (should be a verbatim) into the burner and open Imgburn (ensure you have latest version). Now choose “Write image file to disc”

2)Find out which type of verbatim disc you have by looking at the box on the right. Beside MID it will either say mkm001 or mkm003. also check how much the free space is it should be 854.... bytes

after that run the burner max tool as admin (make sure you have a blank dvd dl inserted before you click the burner max button

click burner max button and it should say burner max is enabled

if it doesn't its should say burner max not enabled yet that means your drive is not compatible

so try a different burner (and i cant tell you what burners will work or not you'll have to try them for yourself )

after that the drive is enabled refresh the drive by tools>drive>refresh

the free space should have changed to 8738... bytes

now from here on all the setting are up to each person and the drive they have ill be tell you the setting i use but theses dont ensure a good burn for you (trial and error)

in other words your gonna have to play around with the settings and find what suits your drive

ok so now click the advance setting button

after that change the advance setting to suit your drive

i disable everything

my recommendation is to disable smart burn and online hyper tuning

next go into tools > settings

the enable or disable the items marked 2 and 3 also make sure layer break is set to calculate optimal

next go to i/o page two set buffer to 512

and turn on or off buffer recovery

select the source file make sure you choose the .dvd file

mine in the tut is fifa14complex.dvd

and that's it select the burn speed

if you can go for 2.4x use that if not use 4x

i use 3x because 2.4x isnt supported by my drive and 4x causes makes the burns cause an error

double check the settings

click burn

also make sure to turn off anyback ground processes and make sure you pc screen does not turn of or dim
and don't use the pc while burning it makes a difference

if this pop up appears just click no

Checking Burn Quality

Open up kprobe2. Leave all the default settings alone and only change the speed to 4x(xbox drives reads at 4x). Start the test and do what you did with Imgburn by closing all applications and not starting any new ones while the test is being done.
A good quality burn is one where PI max is less than 100 and PI avg is less than 5. PIF max less than 4 and PIF avg less than .20 (remember this is just a guideline, it is up to you to make the call if you think it is a good enough burn.)

also each burn depends on the game ... the pi max and pif max where considerable different

for gta v and fifa 14

this is a fifa 14 k probe result
also note that i set the read speed to max instead of 4x cause its faster

Tips and Tricks for ensuring good burns
- Make sure the iso is on your local hdd and not on some portable device.
- Reduce as many applications running on your comp. (you can use tsk mng to help with this)
- defrag hdd
- using a sata connection
- dont let your computer go to sleep/screensaver while waiting for burn

Tips and Tricks when getting poor burns
- try different media
- Try burning mkm003 at x2.4 or mkm001 at x4
- turning on or off OPC
- clearing OPC cache
- Play around enabling and disabling force/online hypertuning, OverSpeed, and SmartBurn in imgburn and/or EEPROM utility < ive never used this so i cant help you with it
- Changing buffer size, en/disabling buffer recovery.

if you have any problems post a reply on this and ill try helping you out dont forget to include the settings for the advance settings

the links for the programs

burnermax program

Download BurnerMAX_v0.15.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

kprobe2

Kprobe Liteon Burn Quality Testing Tool

i cant really help you since theres so many errors that can be caused

try changing burn speed that make a difference as well if you burn too slow or too fast

did you try messing around with the advance setting and clear the opc cache ...

and also try asking in the pc help section

dont forget to post setting and logs from your burn fail it helps to give us an idea of whats wrong

For the help of other people, here are the specs using which i burned a FIFA 14 for my Xbox 360.

  • HP Probook 4530S (Windows 8.1 Preview 64bit)
  • Asus DRW-24B1ST DVD Burner
  • Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL

I just flashed my xbox on Tuesday, and I got a quick question about this guide.

I tried to burn Madden 25, I opened Burnermax it said my drive was not compatible, yet. I pressed the button and indeed the size increased on my DVD DL and IMGBURN confirmed it. I used the same settings as here and the advanced options were disabled like it said for it to be, actually I couldn't even change those settings on my drive it was just greyed out. So I burn the game no errors at all, it didnt run on my xbox and when I put it in the PC on abgx to test it it can't read it.

So even though the guide is for people that don't have iHAS but they have a burnermax compatible drive or it doesnt matter if your drive is compatible you just gotta have luck to get a good burn?

thx

Yes wen I bought mine the burner max software had to.be flashed. Later they developed the payload version which doesn't need the firmwarr.mod

Happy. Burning
