Travelling with a pet through PIA

I need any advice regarding travelling with a cat through PIA. I've called them several times and spoke to them in detail. They say one thing and it contradicts with the official procedure that I found in one of the PDF documents on the PIA website. So much so that the guy asked me to disregard it and do as he says.

I don't want some other randon guy at the airport to create any problem/confusion based on whatever guideline he chooses to follow over what some other person told me over the phone. I can't afford to get into any argument over this at that time.

For now, he just told me send some documents to the airport in Lahore and have the customs clear it. That has been done. But I wasn't asked to prepare any documents that I may need at the airport in Canada, in contradiction to the 'official guideline on the PIA website'. I sent him pictures of the pet carrier and he said it seems okay and there shouldn't be any problem. Thats about it.

Please share your experiences and encounters if any.

I'd suggest you try contact some other guy. I believe travelling with pets does require you to show proper documentation at both places. A second opinion never hurts eh?

just follow the guidelines and disregard the guy. If there's a problem, at least you'll have more to say that "this guy told me so i did it". Contact a travel agent, contact people on a travel forum, google international guidelines, google airport guidelines.

If you don't want so much hassle, follow Chandoo's footsteps, if they detect a cat-like behavior like meow from your butt...just say it's catofartomonia.
