I've been to Thailand a couple of times , ticket cost varies from time to time, it is higher during the season and cheaper off season. I would recommend that you travel to Phuket and the other islands and live more on the paradise then the city if your a beach or naturist. Hotels vary on cost depending on the luxury they offer but hence you may find cheaper deals online. If your looking for clubbing and partying , Thailand offers quite a variety on that as well. Apparel shopping is pretty cheap and the best part is the DOG MARKET :D cause i am a dog lover.

Ticket should cost you around 35,000-45,000 rupees approximately

Would prefer if you travelled through Cathay Pacific. The planes are quite neat.

well then the islands should serve you well. Kosamai, Phi Phi Islands , Ko lanta , Phuket should be places where you should focus on.

I personally recommend you to go stay at Crown Lanta Resort in Ko Lanta ( Krabi) if you would want to get away from all the hussle and bussle of the city. I stay here for a good 4 nights and enjoyed it alot

you'll have to take a ferry or a speed boat , depends on your budget. if your with family take the speed boat if alone then pool up for one. the hotels and the transporters give u an options. islands can be as far as 1hour or more from phuket depending on the island.

dont take any city tour packages etc. they ruin your entire day taking you to compulsory diamond shops etc. Also when you go to phi phi island etc hire a speed boat for a day. the cruises are utter crap, again waste your entire day giving you like 30 mins for the island itself. Beware of cabbies, they again take you to these diamond shops etc.
Other than that i had an absolute blast last time i went to Thailand. phuket is amazing, i would recommend patong beach area which is probably the most happening place is phuket. Pattaya is crap, only good for old uncles with dodgy intentions.

Planning to go thailand ....

Cheapest airfare atm is Cathay Pacific.
Return approx 51,000 with visa and shuttle airport service in Bangkok

You can stay in Sukhumit area, as the hotels these days are ranging from $ 35 - $ 60 due for 3 star hotel in soi 10 - 15 ( soi means road ). A skyrain will take you the last stop which is national stadium ( MBK mall ) and from there u can use interconnecting train for your desired destination..

Going to pattaya ( a bus ride is good )

Sky Train : 30 Bhat one way

1 Bhat - Rupee = 2.90 PKR

Food :

Muslim meat is expensive in the downtown area. I would sugguest you to ask for " Silom " which mean mosque area, there you could find reasonable rate food ( muslim ).

Muslim Food ( biryani - 250 Bhatt per plate, chicken boti - 300 Bhatt per seek , thai food ( sea food ) - prawns ( 150 bhat for 8 pieces ).
Water : 25 bhat for 250 ml bottle, cold drinks ( 35 bhatt )

Shopping : Suntai flee market (35 kms ) out of bangkok, do visit and share the news with us here. I am betting on this that electronics you find there will be 38 percent lesser than the market.

Bargain : Yes you should .... A price quote for example 100 Bhatt, offer him 55 bhatt, you will win at 60.

Entertainment : Do visit dream world a entertainment area, crocodile park, safari world.

Thailand is really amazing if you go to the right places. One thing I definetly recommend is taking a speed boat ride from Phucket to Phi Phi Island. You will be stunned by the amazing scenery. Also don't forget to Snorkle in the open sea! Its really fun!! :D

40k cathay pacific last week rates, 3.5k for visa. Do your hotel booking through online sites (contact me for more info you'll save lots). 8 days are optimum, 2 for BKK then you have to choose: either 3 in phuket and 2 in krabi or 3 in phuket and 2 in koh samui.

Awesome country, I went there in 2011 Oct for my honeymoon and still can't get over the place man! Contact me for a guidance or something I will ensure you get the best experience whether you are alone or with family!

Agoda.com is a nice site if you like to plan your booking. I would like you take something with you as a knowledge, infact who ever passes this thread.

Flights being operated from Pakistan are mostly in the night, when you land in Thailand, you get to the hotel by around 10 am. If you have an online booking, the hotel staff linger to wait till 2 pm, that is where the checkout is usually done. After that you are asked to wait for another 1 hour for housekeeping to prepare your room.

What the heck !!!!!!!!!! After a day or so of journey. You cant sleep or relax properly. Why do they do this, cause the agents pay them and the hotel staff don't care.

Alernate plan ..... Sucessfull.

Walk to any of the hotels.... If you even new to the area. Keep in mind, that Sukhumit area is the main for hoteling. Check out the rates and you will be shocked that they will provide you better rates than online booking. Service is so good, that the time you walk in the hotel, pay them and the room is instantly provided....

This is what I've witnessed and out of 16 trips of mine to Thailand, i use this method.

Online booking is a safe way to avoid unforseen circumstances, but in the third world countries, it in opposite. You pay more and get nothing .....

Thanks

Keep one thing in mind, if you watch cricket on tv there and watch shahid afridi, just don't use the word 'BOOM BOOM'
It means a different thing to them :mushy:
