If you're not into gaming, then get PTCL GPON, it's great for downloading and general internet usage.
Thank you so much for the guidance brother.
I went to Ptcl GPON option and again called PTCL helpline to book the service. Now they are telling me that my area is not covered for now. Feeling crazy now

I have a question guys. If you pay upfront, is it possible to upgrade your connection during the free period they give you. I originally went for 20Mbps, but now want to upgrade to 30 now. Would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction please.

Not really sure, but they'll probably charge you for 30 if you upgrade now. Wait for the billing cycle to complete, and maybe then upgrade?

If you have the number for the sales rep in your area, he'd be a good person to ask, otherwise helpline should be able to answer your question.

Packages above 30 Mbps are terribly priced, so if you want to, get either 20 or 30 Mbps.

Service is pretty good nowadays. Consistent and stable. Customer support also much better than PTCL.

30 mbps is priced at PKR 3500 excluding tax. Whereas, ptcl doesn't offer 30 mbps package. I am currently using 20 mbps vdsl connection of ptcl costing PKR 3000 excluding tax. Should I go for 30 mbps (FTTH) or stick with 20 mbps VDSL????

I'd go with TES just to get away from PTCL, but there is one thing you should know.

Their billing system is crap at the moment. The one thing I miss about PTCL was their bill could be paid literally anywhere.

With TES it can only be paid at HBL or their local office in your area.

Furthermore, the invoices are always emailed late, half the time I don't even receive the physical copies and the amounts mentioned on the invoice usually need corrections which they will take forever to recalculate.

Other than that annoying quirk, it's fine.

Guys, anyone knows how to turn the Transworld supplied Huawei HG8245H ONT router into a modem/bridge only mode.
Logging in the router, there aren't many things to tinker and no options for bridge mode.
I've got a DD-WRT router, from which I want to do all the routing and also avoid double NAT issue.

You have to call or email them and ask them to change it to bridge mode.

They'll do so and then email you the PPPoE login credentials which you can use to dial on your router.

That's what I've done, and Joker99 has as well.

Thanks for the quick response bro. I called them yesterday on this and the guy on the telephone kept telling me to plug the LAN cable from the yellow port of the Huawei ONT to the router I was connecting :laugh1:!!
I tried to explain that I understand that but if there was a technical expert there maybe he could ask him about "bridge" mode. He put me on hold and came back to say "that's all what the documentation says" :p!!
Anyways, gonna email them now!!

Yes I did it over email, they did it the same day, and the engineer called me back to walk me through it.

They'll ask you to connect the Ethernet cable from LAN 1 on the ONT to WAN on your router.

Tell him to send a trace route of 175.41.146.190 when he's downloading from Steam.

I haven't faced this issue on my connection.

Hey guys I'm facing NAT issues with my new transworld connection, seems my ports are blocked from the backend. Can anyone brief me what I need to tell the technical staff, they're having trouble understand the issue. Also would you guys recommend using bridge mode? I'm using an Asus router but they've totally locked up the modem...

Does your IP start with 103.x? If so, you're on their CGNAT pool, which is what they put all new connections on by default.

Just email them and say you want NAT Type 2 for the purpose of online gaming and to put your ONT in bridge mode.

If you have a Windows 10 PC, open the Xbox app, go to settings, run a connection test, and it'll show Strict NAT (Type 3), take a screenshot, and attach that with the email where you request for NAT Type 2. It's a requirement for them to switch you over.

They'll eventually email back saying it's been switched and to restart your ONT.

For the bridge mode request, it's literally just that. Ask for bridge mode, they'll change your ONT config remotely and email (or call) you to give you the PPPoE credentials.

Connect LAN 1 from ONT to your router, enter PPPoE user/pass and it should connect almost immediately.

Now you've got the perfect setup. You're not behind their carrier grade NAT and are on a normal dynamic IP pool, and you've got full control of your connection rather than being locked down by the ONT.

Apologies for the long post, just needed to make sure I didn't leave out any details.
