Tour to Skardu/Gilgit [URGENT GUIDANCE]

Salam,
This is Asad. I'm looking to go northern area this Aug, i'd like to suggest me, we are 2 guys, looking to explore Skardu or Gilgit. Been to Fairy Meadows before last year. So a little idea about the route to chillas, I've. @Jshak I see you've visited it. I need some info from you and all other members here. Here are the few constraints we have.

- Public transport will be used, if there is some area where jeep should be used for the scenery view during travel, do suggest me.
- Max 20-25k is the range / person.
- If we land in Skardu, i will visit (deosai, shangrila, KATPANA Desert (imp) [more ideas are welcomed]
- if we see feasibility in visiting Gilgit, We will use road transportation, mansehra-KKH-Chillas-and so on..
- For gilgit, I'm looking to visit [Attabad Lake, hunza and other famous valleys in the route, karimabad, pak-China Border] [other ideas are welcomed too on the route of Gilgit-pak-border]
- We're 2 guys, so we can afford to live bachelor in there.

Will it be possible to visit these areas?
What about the whether in the end of august/start of Sep in these places?
What will be the hotel rent, food, transporatation cost [public and private jeep both]

P.S: I NEED URGENT RESPONSES AND SUGGESTIONS BECAUSE IT'S A SUDDEN PLAN AND WE'VE ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT. TAG OTHERS ALSO.

A - Use Natco buses or Book a local car for the 2-4 days package as they can take cars to all these locations and it will be cheaper than jeep. You will need jeep ride from Skardu to Astore via Deosai. They charge around 15K to 18k for one side trip but for overnight stay you will have to negotiate alot the revised rate.
You will have to come to Gilgit on hiace and then take Chilas hiace. Drop over at Raikot bridge. Then Try to share jeep fare with some group which is i think 6-7K but keep in mind Getting public transport from Raikot is a pain. Go to Chilas or Jaglot and then take the bus back home.

Only reasonable hotel in Astore Town is Kamran Hotel.


Usually people reside in Rama Meadows in rest houses. 2ndly such journeys the hotels are for night sleeping and shower only. The whole day is spent in travelling or sightseeing.


Better you visit 2,3 hotels and then decide after bargain

I've mentioned our budget per head. I think it will be expensive to visit the areas you've mentioned there. However, if I land in skardu, how much budget I should expect? and tell me about gilgit too, via kkh.

What if I land in Gilgit? And I visit the areas you've mentioned. What could be the cost for economical living???

Check PIA tickets prices through any website, but I think if u have limited budget then using public transport is best option.
Day1: Leave Pindi in after noon n reach Gilgit next day (upto 20hrs drive) around 1400hrs (day 2) n hire a jeep from there (coordinate in advance)
Day 2: From Gilgit it will take upto 6hrs to reach Skardu. Hire or buy tents n save hotel room charges. You can spend nights in open in tents n jeep. Spend one night in or around Upper Kachura lake.
Day 3: Leave ur camp 630-7am n visit Shangrilla, Shigar Fort n Satpara Lake n try to enter Deosai before 1600hrs to reach Bar Pani/Sheosar Lake by 1900hrs next night in Deosai (Bar Pani or Sheosar Lake)
Day 4: Leave Deosai n reach Rama Meadows n camp there. Don't waste ur time in Astore city/town.
Day 5: You can hike to Rama Lake early in the morning or move back to Gilgit.
Day 6: if you hike to Rama Lake, leave for Gilgit on day 6 n spend night in a hotel.
Day 7(or 6): leave to Naltar Meadows+lakes. Will take around 3-4hrs on same jeep. Camp there in ur tents.
Day 8: leave for Hunza from Naltar (630-7am) will take almost 2hrs to reach Hunza. Visit Hunza forts (Altit n Baltit). Spend a night in eagle's nest.
Day 9: Visit Hoper valley n then fall back to Gilgit or if you have more time n money, try to go up to Khujerab Pass.
Day 10. Come back to Gilgit from Khujerab pass or Hunza (as per day 9 plan) n get tickets for Rwp.
Day 11 n 12: Traveling back to Rawalpindi.

If u save hotel charges then it is very much doable in upto 25-27k.

And we've finally decided to visit only gilgit and forward to khunjreb. No skardu this time. What could be the cost. And now can you please suggest me phander, nalter, nagar other valleys and their cost to travel within my mentioned budgets. Eagle nest yeah. I'll give it a shot, what will be the rates there? In night

We'll land directly to gilgit as we've been to chillas via kkh. So ddontwant a tiring travel to chillas via kkh.

I am thinking my self to go to Skardu by end September 2017 . Will drive from here to Isb and then from there will take a local bus or tour. If you wanna come, then u can pool in the expenses with me
