----- THE YEAR OF XBOX 360 -----

With so many kick ass games releasing over the next few months its hard to keep track of what is coming out and when, ENTER THREAD. Read on for the complete list of what you should be playing this year! damn you microsoft! you werent supposed to have games this year :p

I'll start off by copy-pasting the list of upcoming games from : http://www.pakgamers.com/boty/2007/360_2008.php

We’re still reeling from a stellar 2007 but the barrage of amazing games refuses to die out. Piles of shame have never been so large. You don’t get a chance to dig through it either, the juggernaut marches on in 2008. We put forward before you the games you should look out for in the new year! The lists are divided into, AWESOME & GREAT games. Lets not waste time and space on mine runs.

[AWESOME] Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction

The adventures of Sam Fisher continue in the fifth entry of the stealth-based series. In this game, all of the rules have changed, as the storyline takes a dramatic turn that will reinvent the Splinter Cell franchise forever. Fisher can no longer rely on his trusted bag of tools and iconic goggles. He's gone beyond being a double agent. Now he's a fully fledged fugitive without the intel of 3rd Echelon or the support of his friends. This time around, Fisher is going to need more than just a dark corner to survive...
Experience original game play based on improvisation where your environment becomes your weapon. You need to react to changing situations and use the environment and the crowds around you to create diversions and deter your enemies.

[GREAT]
Left 4 Dead

Setting out to do for co-op gaming what Counter-Strike did for team combat, Left 4 Dead is an ambitious, independently-produced survival horror game from Turtle Rock Studios, the co-developers of Counter-Strike Source. Running on the Source engine, Left 4 Dead leaves four armed survivors of a world overrun with zombies, and they must fight their way out to escape the outbreak.
Designed for co-op play, the four players must work together to finish each stage of the game, lending each other artillery support, sharing ammo and rescuing each other when zombies are on top of them. In addition to the standard four players as humans, another four players can be amongst the masses of assaulting zombies, seeking to take down the other players. Zombie players might even find themselves become one of the four mutant "boss" zombies, who have unique powers that can be used to devastate, injure, tie up, mark and track, confuse, or even humiliate the gun-toting human survivors.

[GREAT]
Universe at War: Earth Assault

Universe at War: Earth Assault is set in the near-future when multiple factions from across the galaxy have come to Earth to wage epic warfare. Deadly sci-fi weapons and alien powers allow players to destroy cities and other territory while fighting for Earth. The game also allows players to retrain and customize units in the midst of battle, modify their weapons and defenses in real-time, and even control the development of technology that will help them to victory.

[GREAT]
World in Conflict

World in Conflict presents a chillingly authentic Cold War scenario where the Berlin Wall never fell. Created by Cold War authority and best-selling author Larry Bond, the story begins in 1989 as the Soviets, fearing certain collapse, boldly advance into Europe. NATO responds in force only to be met on a second front -- a full-fledged invasion of the American homeland.
Players take on the role of field commander, leading the era's most powerful military machines in the campaign to retake America's cities and suburbs. The RTS gameplay features completely destructible 3D battlefields, aggressive team-based multiplayer action and a focus on fast, hard-hitting battles. For the Xbox 360 version, the game has been customized for the controller and implements a new heads-up-display (HUD) that is more functional for console gamers.

[GREAT]
Elveon

In Elveon, the elven Neamas inhabit a realm of Naon, a place that had once been destined to be paradise before the gods mysteriously abandoned it. Confict arises, however, as the descendants of the gods begin to threaten peace in the land, as envy, malevolence and relentless lead to all-out war. As the mightiest warrior of Naon, you must fulfil the prophecy and liberate the city of Nimathar.

[OMGKFCBBQ
AWESOME]
Ninja Gaiden 2

The sequel to the blockbuster action game by Tecmo's heralded Team Ninja. Running on an entirely new gameplay engine, Ninja Gaiden 2 evolves the action in the sequel with an auto-generation health system, new enemies and locales, and thrilling combat built upon an extensive assortment of ninja weaponry.

Sell your pet, children, parents and home if you have to, you must not miss this.

[GREAT]
Too Human

As the Cybernetic God Baldur, players are thrust into the midst of an ongoing battle that threatens the existence of mankind. An ancient machine presence has forced the God's hand. In the first of a three part trilogy, Baldur is charged with defending mankind from an onslaught of monstrous war machines bent on eradication of human life. Players are treated to a nonstop barrage of action powered by the seamless integration of melee and ranged firearms combat. Battles unfold in awesome scale as players engage in spectacular battles with vast numbers of enemies.
Too Human's history is one that dates to the earliest days of developer Silicon Knights. This epic title has been a dream project for the developer for years, with development on it attempted for the original PlayStation and GameCube systems before finally ending up on the powerful Xbox 360 system.

[AWESOME]
Fable 2

Set 500 years after the original game, Fable 2 offers even more choices and features, while building on the core gameplay theme of Fable where every choice continually defines who you become, allowing you to truly live the life you choose.

Sequel to one of the best games I have ever played, think Mass Effect in the middle ages. Back will all the shenanigans and a revolutionary one button + both sticks combat system. Lets not forget the PET DOG that is always by your side and the ability to raise kids to become heroes and continue your legacy! I cannot wait for Fable 2.

[NOVELTY]
Lost Odyssey

Here’s your obligatory JRPG of the list. I dunno what it is *steals info from netz*

The second of two epic RPG projects for Microsoft by Mistwalker, the studio founded by Square-Enix's Hironobu Sakaguchi. You play as Kaim, a man who's been sentenced to live for 1,000 years. The game's storyline takes you through Kaim's life as he lives through multiple generations, becomes a part of many families, falls in and out of love and gets into conflicts. All this is set in a world that is on the verge of a "mystical industrial revolution," where mankind has attained dark powers.

It was a trap, the game sucks.

[AWESOME]
Alan Wake

Fill the shoes of one Alan Wake, a man who makes his living from the terror of others as a best-selling suspense novelist. Trapped in the deceptively peaceful Washington town of Bright Falls, where he came to escape the trauma of losing his fiancée, Alan must piece together a mystery to prevent himself from being trapped inside a nightmarish world forever.
An intense psychological thriller from Remedy, the creators of Max Payne, Alan Wake looks to raise the bar for future games, creating a true cinematic experience. Explore an expansive world filled with missions, unique puzzles, intense combat, and horrifying enemies. Dig into a twisting and multi-layered story filled with suspense, engaging characters, and shocking revelations.

[GREAT]
Halo Wars

Its Halo at war! Your favourite game jumps into a whole new genre, developed by the award winning Ensemble Studios (make of the Age games) with oversight from our dark lord Bungie themselves! Promising to be as frantic, fun and deep as its big daddy, Halo Wars is one title that has the opportunity to change the fate of the RTS genre forever!

[ssshhh..]
??????????

You know its coming and the listing at both Amazon US and UK amongst other retailers points to the obvious. I wanna jump so high that i cut off my head with the ceiling fan. I'm willing to kill a 1000 people and start a whole blood irrigation system just to get a copy. I'm more hyped than Inferno is for his next picnic, Gears2 in november, can you wait that long?

RIGHT ON THE MONEY BABY! i should get into astrology :D

[ssshhh..]
??????????

Peter Jackson’s Halo games has guarded very well. So well that we don’t know a thing about it! Except it will “redefine cinematic gaming”. Indigo Prophecy? King Kong? One thing is for sure, PJ + Bungie = something really awesome.

still waiting ... maybe E3

Xbox 360's Exclusives in 2008 and Beyond.

This article is a synopsis of what 360 gamers have to look foward to now, in the upcoming months, as well as next year. There are a wide range of titles covering many genres. This is just a glimpse of what is to come. Microsoft no doubt has many more suprises that they have yet to unveil. Hopefully there will be some big announcements at E3 as well later on this summer.

1) Gears of War 2

Gears of War 2 is the eagerly anticipated sequel to the 4.5 million selling blockbuster third-person tactical action game that became one of the most popular Xbox 360 games in history. This time, Marcus Fexis and Delta Squad are poised to deliver a bigger and more intense experience than ever before.

Gears of War 2 continues the story of Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad, locked in an increasingly desperate battle against the nightmarish Locust Horde for the survival of humanity. Gears of War 2 is an epic saga of survival, loss, and retribution.

2) Ninja Gaiden 2

Ninja Gaiden 2 makes its long-awaited debut on Xbox 360 as the blockbuster action-packed sequel to Ninja Gaiden®. Ninja Gaiden 2 features a new and improved game engine, developed from the ground up exclusively for Microsoft and Xbox 360 by Team Ninja and legendary game developer Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of the famed Dead or Alive franchise.

In Ninja Gaiden 2, gamers must guide Ryu Hayabusa on a mission to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race. Armed with an assortment of ninja weaponry, players must help Ryu skillfully maneuver through a world fraught with peril and danger. Ninja Gaiden 2 will feature an all-new gameplay engine, a new auto-health regeneration system, levels, adventures, enemies and thrilling combat with an extensive assortment of ninja weaponry, representing a true evolution of the highly popular franchise.

4) Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts

Throughout their adventure, players create their own abilities by building vehicles for Banjo to pilot over land, water and air. Vehicle parts, which range from simple devices such as engines and wheels to more unusual equipment such as springs and egg guns, are earned and collected throughout the game. Players use their imagination to combine parts in any order to create whatever vehicle they choose. LOG’s challenges have one goal, but players’ choice of vehicle and tactics will determine how they get there. By exploring worlds and solving puzzles, players both young and old will be rewarded with more advanced and diverse vehicle parts in their quest to defeat Grunty once and for all.

With the power of Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts brings an entirely new experience to the console and takes the franchise to a whole new level of enjoyment. High-definition graphics, user-created content and online gameplay are just three of the many advances people of all ages and skill levels will discover as they embark on their adventure.

5) Left 4 Dead

Left 4 Dead is an upcoming multiplayer co-operative survival horror FPS game by Turtle Rock Studios which is, as of January 10, 2008, part of Valve Corporation.

Left 4 Dead puts four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of the Infected. Regular Infected are controlled by the game AI, while human players can control up to four mutated Boss Infected with special abilities. The goal of Left 4 Dead for the Survivors is to help each other make it through a level to safety. Infected players must cooperate to stop them.

6) Infinite Undiscovery

This is an epic RPG created by tri-Ace, developer of the big hit series Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile, and Microsoft Game Studios. Over 10 years of ideas from Yoshiharu Gotanda, the producer of Infinite Undiscovery and president of tri-Ace, will become a reality on Xbox 360.

Various situations unfold in a world that changes in real time, with players’ choices leading to “unknown discoveries.” The advanced technology of tri-Ace combined with the next generation power of Xbox 360 offers an ultimate fantasy world overflowing with realism, allowing players to experience true role playing within a grand story.

7) Halo Wars

Halo Wars is a strategy game based on the legendary Halo universe. Players will command armies of familiar and new UNSC units in its initial encounters against the Covenant, an alien coalition threatening to obliterate mankind. Halo Wars will immerse gamers in an early period of the storied Halo universe, allowing them to experience events leading up to the first Halo title for Xbox.

Created from the ground up for the Xbox 360 console and Controller, Halo Wars is being developed by the veteran real-time strategy developer Ensemble Studios, the team responsible for the best-selling and critically acclaimed Age of Empires franchise on the PC. Halo Wars can be played online via Xbox Live and through the single-player campaign. Published by Microsoft Game Studios, Halo Wars is an exclusive title for the Xbox 360 video game system.

Alan Wake

Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller from Remedy, the legendary and renowned developers of highly successful action titles. In this exciting new title exclusively for Xbox 360, gamers assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author who escapes to a small town to recover from the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée.

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Wash., Alan Wake immerses players in an intense and expansive cinematic world that enables players to roam freely in hyper-realistic, dynamic and interactive environments. Alan Wake is mission-based with a deeply engaging and suspenseful story line unveiling new twists and profound character revelations at every turn. Players will unravel the riveting plot through multilayered character interactions, unique problem-solving and intense combat against terrifying enemies. In this nightmarish world, Alan Wake must use a variety of weapons to survive, including his most powerful ally against the creatures of darkness — light itself.

9) Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

The original Rare Ltd. team behind Viva Piñata has reunited to bring gamers Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, the newest piñata adventure that invites gamers to return to magical Piñata Island. Unfortunately, not all is well on the island, as Professor Pester along with his gang of Ruffians have wiped out Piñata Central’s computer records, which poses a threat to parties everywhere. To help Piñata Central, players must gradually rebuild the computer database by sending piñatas at full candiosity to parties all around the world. While thwarting Professor Pester’s evil plot, players still build and maintain piñata gardens — using their creativity and imagination to attract, trap, protect, train and manage more than 100 different piñata species.

Available exclusively on Xbox 360, Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise reinvigorates a colorful and engaging gaming experience on the Xbox 360 platform. Now with full cooperative and online gameplay modes, the Viva Piñata franchise opens its doors even wider with a new game that provides hours of fun for gamers of all ages, fans of the animated series and animal lovers alike.

10) Too Human

Fight as Baldur, a powerful cybernetic god battling his way through enemy armies to become one of gaming’s renowned iconic heroes. From weaponry and armor to combat techniques and combos, players can fully customize Baldur to become the best possible hero.

Thrilling action-RPG gameplay. Unlike some games that may force players to choose between two genres, Too Human combines all the creative economy features and social experiences of a typical RPG, such as collecting loot and leveling up, while maintaining the excitement of an action game. With a wide array of weapons, armors, cybernetic implants and skills, players have an unprecedented level of customization with their characters.

11) Champions Online

With the Marvel MMO officially dead and buried, what's a poor Superhero-MMO developer to do? Turns out that Cryptic Studios, creators of City of Heroes, City of Villains, (and would-be creators of Marvel Unniverse Online) already has another project going. That explains why we've been in the dark about the Marvel MMO for so long, Cryptic's been busy with another project! That new project is called Champions Online and is based on the old-school tabletop RPG of the same name (sans "online").

Champions is still a superhero world, with plenty of customizability that should work great for the world of an MMO. The main character creation mechanic, called the Hero System, allows the player to create custom super-powers. The depth of a tabletop game with the fun of a superhero MMO?

12) Splinter Cell Conviction

You are a fugitive and you are being ruthlessly hunted by the very government you once served. The key to your survival is to improvise, adapt and overcome. Experience original game play based on improvisation where your environment becomes your weapon. You need to react to changing situations and use the environment and the crowds around you to create diversions and deter your enemies.

Splinter Cell Conviction will deliver an adrenaline rush of game play with blood-pumping chase sequences, close combat and intense gun battles. To survive, build an underground network of allies who will help you obtain hi-tech gadgets and stay one step ahead of your pursuers as you struggle to unmask the forces that want you dead. You have never played Splinter Cell like this before

Xbox 360s Exclusives in 2008 and beyond Part 2.

13) Huxley

Webzen introduces HUXLEY, the first massively multiplayer online game to combine the twitch-based fast-action gameplay of a first person shooter with the cerebral character development of an MMO to deliver an intense and exciting online entertainment experience of a complete MMOFPS.

In a post-apocalyptic world where human beings have mutated and divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternatives must battle it out in fierce online first person combat. The Hybrids, a mysterious third race, add to the drama as the three factions will do whatever it takes to wipe out the opposition and win control of a world in turmoil and its vital resources.

14) Theseis

Andonicos Kalogerou is a man devoted to science and the war against superstition. From his office in the historic centre of Athens, he has worked diligently for more than 5 years, travelling all over Greece and revealing the paranormal for what it truly is: drunken fantasies and uneducated hysteria. But his intelligible, safe little world is going to come crushing down when a call from Pheve, his adopted sister and fervent advocate of the mythic, informs him that his step-father is not only missing, but presumed dead as well.

With a heavy heart, Andronicos travels to the place of his childhood, high atop the Greek mountains, to bury an empty coffin and reunite with his quarrelsome step-sister. Little does he know that each step irrevocably brings him and Pheve closer to what Destiny has in store for them. For the death of their stepfather heralds the beginning of the greatest struggle between good and evil with the prize being nothing less than the very future of this world.

15) Guilty Gear: Overture

In the far future, humanity succeeded in developing an endless energy called the divine power. But although they were able to obtain wisdom, mankind could not cast aside their foolishness. Tension among the major powers led to the creation of biological weapons that were based on that power - Gears. ustice, the only Gear able to command the legions of biological weapons, went berserk and declared war on all of humanity. That was the beginning of the worst war in history - The Crusades.

In response, mankind formed an order of elite knights, and with their participation, Justice was defeated. With her fall, all Gears ceased to function and entered a dormant state. The long-lasted Crusades came to an end, and it seemed like mankind restored peace.

16) Tales of Vesparia

The 360 debut of the Tales series follows the quest of a knight named Yuri as he investigates a mysterious ancient technology. Tales of Vesperia will debut on the 360 and marks the first time a Tales game will be presented in HD for in game play and the animated cut scenes. The graphics looked quite nice and gave me a little bit of that Eternal Sonata feeling just not quite as sharp. Vesperia also sports a real time battle system and the ability to customize your characters with various powers and abilities. If you are a Japanese RPG fan, this is one you won't want to miss.

17) Project Offset

Project Offset is the very pinnacle of epic fantasy warfare: A class-based union of visceral, close-quarters melee and long-ranged shooter combat set against the backdrop of cataclysmic war. Project Offset provides a high action combat experience with the control scheme and frenetic pace of a FPS, like Halo, but split 50/50 between projectile and melee combat. To realize this goal, an all new hybrid combat model has been created that integrates intense shooter gameplay with a streamlined but strategic melee fighting system.

A combination of attacks, parries, and grab maneuvers, often found in modern fighting games, is simplified to simple button combinations and adapted to a shooter style control scheme. The player is given the ability to block, dodge, and even reflect projectile attacks to balance the melee and ranged combat into a seamless, high intensity battle experience.

1
Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is a massively-multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) based on the world and works of acclaimed author Robert E. Howard. In Age of Conan, players enter Hyboria with thousands of their friends and enemies to live, fight, and explore the dark and brutal world of King Conan.

Age of Conan is consistently mentioned as one of the most anticipated MMORPGs games in development. It has received close to twenty magazine covers and more than fifteen awards, including numerous “Best MMO of E3” awards and the official “Best Online Game of Show” award at the GC convention 2007. Age of Conan is a key title in Microsoft's line-up, as well as a showcase title.

19) Elveon

Elveon means "The book of elves" and is based on a comprehensive fantasy saga which goes back to the times of the rise of the advanced Elvish civilization. The gods have left the world of Naon in a rush, it is the place they had wanted to transform into their paradise. The Neamas, the elves of the ancient times and fellows of the gods have remained there all alone. A smouldering conflict is gaining more and more importance and a new era starts which is marked by envy, malevolence and relentless wars that prevent the gods’ descendants from entering upon their inheritance.

20) The Crossing

The Crossing is the world's first "cross-play" shooter that fuses single player with multiplayer. What is exactly "cross play"? Well, imagine that in Gears of War, which featured drop-in/drop-out co-op for a friend to take on Dominic Santiago, any Xbox Live player could either take the place of a Locust or a Gears squad member while you are playing the campaign mode. Arkane Studios explains that The Crossing is a first-person shooter that allows players to take on any NPC. That sounds to me like next-generation multiplayer!

The game, which is powered by Valve Software's Source Engine, takes place in Paris, across time and multiple dimensions, in a world where Knights Templar have survived 1307.

21) Warhound

Warhound is an open-ended First-Person Shooter (FPS) set in modern times. In the game, you will play as an ex-Delta Force operative, now working for the world`s largest military company. In Warhound, you`ll complete a variety of challenging missions in battlefields around the world, while later uncovering a massive terrorist plot that targets the United States and thousands of its citizens.

Warhound focuses on complete freedom of choice, and as such, you will have unprecedented opportunities to pick your missions, weapons, battlefield tactics and vehicles. You will select mission start times, insertion/extraction points and the types (land, sea or air) of insertion. You will also need to keep on top of your training, finances and position in the highly-competitive mercenary market to ensure you receive only the most select missions. More successful missions equal more money, which can be used to buy new equipment and weapons for future jobs. Warhound`s innovative First Person Perspective (FPP) cover system will allow you to bring the battle to your enemies in ways you`ve never dreamed of before.

22) All Points Bulletin

APB is being developed by Real Time Worlds Ltd. under the leadership of David Jones, creator of the original Grand Theft Auto franchise. APB will a real-world based, massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) for Xbox 360. WEBZEN will publish and operate the game in worldwide markets, with WEBZEN America Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of WEBZEN, launching and operating APB in North America.

I absolutely hate parry and Sekiro made me love it, i hate sci fi and Mass Effect made me love it. This is the definition of genre defining experiences.

With how great cod warzone has translated onto mobile. Mainstream Consoles have lost its value even further. Maybe console gaming was associated with TVs and how TV is not the primary source of media consumption anymore, consoles will lose its 200 million core audiences even further.
