PTV recently started their own sports channel. It has suddenly become my most favourite channel:$
They have an extensively rich archive of past sports encounters. From football, squash,hockey, tennis to cricket. Best part is that they're putting on matches you wouldn't normally see on any sports channel at the moment.

Just watched a couple of gems.Squash matches involving Jahangir and Jansher at their peak, old football WC matches, classic Sharjah cricket matches and Wimbledon finals from the 90's.

Do check it out guys. (2t) Brings back a whole host of memories.

yes PTV has indeed brought a good channel , the old school stuff they are showing is superb cricket matches documentaries from 50's .

hats off , hope this will bring competition and GEO super will improve as well

Well a couple of days ago I was going through the channels and PTV Sport appeared. They were showing the 2002 WorldCup final b/w Brazil and Germany. But I was dissapointed to see that at any point they didn't show the scores and the time, other than when Ronaldo scored and a box appeared confirming the goal.

This is great. I hate Geo Super. Also, PTV gets telecasting rights for mostly all matches, unlike Geo Super.

Previously, PTV's lack of telecasting rights made me opt for cable tv. Now I believe only PTV and Ten Sports have the rights to telecast Pakistan matches.
Geo Super has missed out pretty badly here. Can't remember the last time they showed any live match.

Looks great. The programs are pretty good, and unlike Geo Super, commercial breaks are not tedious.

I don't know about you guys but I always keep a dictionary at hand when I flip to this channel. Seems like they employed an English major to write the match descriptions:lol:

@ Topic, I think the resolution is really old style. Bad resolution, less brightness, contrast and sharpness... If you see channels like Star Sports/Ten Sports and then PTV Sports, you'll see a mass difference. It's not that they have really less budget to air the channel. I think they should improve the quality.

Plus, the channel is REALLY laggy at my point. I started watching Sampras vs Agassi Wimbledon '99 final yesterday, but due to alot of "No signal" and cutting, I really changed the channel being pissed.. PTV sports would be my last resort if these things continue.

Sadly on this Cable TV I have, this channel has replaced Ten Sports <__<

Now I can't watch football at the sake of cricket.

But the channel is good. That Mohammad Ali song is always airing on it

Bump! They're showing the 1986 Football World Cup Argentina vs West Germany on now.

This channel has exceeded expectations. What a treasure trove of matches PTV has been collecting over the years!

Anyone noticed when Pakistan won the Asia cup final the last scorecard said "Bangladesh won by 2 runs"? They did eventually changed it after the commercial break though xD.

Haha we get almost all the local sports channels. Geo super, Ten sports, Ptv sports, star cricket, espn etc.
