So according to ProPakistani, PTA has instructed all telecom operators and ISPs to switch to IPv6 as soon as possible.

Just the optics and nothing else. StormFiber switched to IPv6 2 years ago and there is hardly any advantage of using it over IPv4. In fact, IPv6 is more problematic than ipv4. Browsing slows down, and the majority of websites tend not to open on the first try. You can't connect VPN on IPv6, etc.

So recently shifted to Askari 10 Lahore, to my surprise only option PTCL has is copper wire and VDSL, now the lineman said go for 8mbps and if line is stable will increase to 15mbps. I came to know later that some promo is on for new connections and get a discounted rate on package.

Now I asked PTCL to upgrade to 15mbps and they said promo will be gone and bill will be Rs 4000, 4k for 15mbps I made a mistake of choosing PTCL.

while ptcl is giving 25mbps for 3500rs(without tax) with tax is close to 5k

i also use smart tv and netflix content bundle so i am already paying more than 5k monthly in total but the internet speed should be 50mb for me at this price but thats PTCL what can we do! no competition anywhere

bcz i have been using ptcl for ages man and they upgraded me last jan when fiber came to our area so why didnt they give us this then? i have this so called triple play for ages but am getting charged way more bcz of it counting it separately for all 3 services?
Also could u tell me if these prices are before taxes like the service and withholding taxes or taxes included?

well i saw the packages now and its basically the same thing as calling it "double or Triple play" or having the broadband along with smart tv separately bcz it costs the same! and these prices are exclusive of taxes so the triple play which is 6849 must be costing north of 8000rs. i pay 3200 for 30 mb and the taxes for that is 1250 so for 75mb which costs 6849 the taxes must be more than 1500 atleast.
so basically its the same price unless these prices are inclusive of taxes which would make it a no brainer and i would love to get that 50mb as well bcz am already paying for that price! but i doubt it thats the case. ofcourse elitus can tell how much he pays in total including taxes if its not a big deal bro?

You probably have other internet providers (ISPs) in your area. That is why PTCL is giving you a offer good enough to keep you stick with PTCL. They never give offers to areas without competition.

Look at my cost of 50Mbps = 5673rs.... While on website price is "5,295rs"..... Govt has reduced tax on internet but PTCL increased package cost to keep internet prices Same... This is another form of stealing


So this is how ptcl is calculating my bill while writing other shits like tv charges and then giving me discount lol...
5673rs (50Mbps) + 300rs (tv device installment) + 991rs (Service Tax) + 662rs (W.H.Tax) + 4rs (Arrears)
Note how funny it is that i have 2rs credit and 4rs arrear.

Bro this really is funny! they do that in every bill with the credit and arrears thing. and u should really call them for the 50mb package cost bcz it is 4899 including smart tv which u i can see u are using. and 4599 if u are not using smart tv. so u are getting charged atleast 700rs more than u should. call them asap

These charges are inclusive of taxes, now. And no, there isn't any other ISP available yet where I live (Wah Cantt). Nayatel and Stormfiber have slowly started making inroads around here but not in my area yet atleast.

Nothing we common people can do other than paying... Everyone i met on internet is paying 6k something for 50mbps while i am getting 7630rs. I will talk with ptcl cares @ Twitter and lets see what he says about 50Mbps price. Thing is packages are expensive on Copper and VDSL. but cheap on flash fiber. I really dont understand why is there such difference. since most of Pakistan is on copper and vdsl they decided to lower price only for flash fiber because their number is maximum 5% users total. I live in Rawalpindi. and i live quite close to A-Block but still its been many years A-Block has fiber but surrounding areas never got fiber. if you check ptcl coverage for rawalpindi (Satellite Town) you will be amazed how fastly ptcl is spreading their fiber coverage here. 7 years ago it was same small area covered. and today after 7 years its still the same. Their profit is every year way more than last year and they are spending zero on infrastructure and ptcl is somewhat Saudi Arabic Company. Everything becomes corrupt and slow and sleepy in Pakistan. I cried alot about ptcl bills but didnt make a difference so i have decided to not waste my mental peace on this and just pay the bill and be done. and try to increase my income...

PTCL is shit. if they can give you such a cheap internet why not give it to others?........ I am using only ptcl dsl as soon as they made dsl available after dial up days. This is totally unfair and selfish treatment of loyal customers. Pathetic company! Selfish Policies! Greed at peak and what not

You guys are right, I too don't understand these selective 'promo' policies. Maybe they are being proactive against StormFibre and NayaTel trying to disrupt the market in new areas like ours.
