The reason's very simple, ONT plugs into an extension lad which then plugs into socket which has UPS backup. Why would you turn off ONT at night?
And thus, mister PTCL hacker will use your precious GBs during your loadshedding. The reason's very simple, ONT plugs into an extension lad which then plugs into socket which has UPS backup.
Now that extension also houses 3 external HDD adapters and my 32" Asus 4K IPS panel. I don't want power to those devices even on standby mode when i know i am not gonna use them for next 12 or so hours hence i turn em off.
Now i have moved ONT to another socket which has no UPS backup meaning if light goes now so will my internet.
That's not how services are supposed to work. I am paying for the full service so its my right to use it however i want, whenever i want. Its ptcl's job to fix their mess and provide better security to their customers. And thus, mister PTCL hacker will use your precious GBs during your loadshedding.
Woohoo!
Maybe add a separate extension connected to the UPS point for your TV and for your ONT?
Even if you do that its a simple matter of disconnecting you from ptcl's end. That's not how services are supposed to work. I am paying for the full service so its my right to use it however i want, whenever i want. Its ptcl's job to fix their mess and provide better security to their customers.
I should'nt Have to keep my ONT up 24/7 365 to ensure no one from the ptcl own employees can use it.
And it's just your own opinion to keep ONT running all the time. Everyone has their own preferences, does'nt mean one is right or wrong.
most probably someone activated your 100mb internet profile on their number. I don't know how it works just speculatingThe reason's very simple, ONT plugs into an extension lad which then plugs into socket which has UPS backup.

Yes exactly, that's why keeping your ONT on/off wouldn't make any difference.Even if you do that its a simple matter of disconnecting you from ptcl's end.
In other words its a peace of cake to disconnect any modem or restart it since they have control over your modem from backend. That is why ptcl dont need to share username and password of device to its user because they can do settings from any city "Remotely".
My point is they can use anyone's ip/ ptcl connection when ever they want by simply disconnecting the original owner of that ip/Account![]()
Once back when it was dsl days, i opened 192.168.1.1 to check line stats. And it opened modem page of somebody's else modem. It was showing different interface, line stats, sync speeds, attainable speeds. Everything was different. For past 14 years i always turned off my modem at night. This is the first time it happened.
yes very high packet loses , ping is also high and VPN's are also barely working keeps disconnecting after a while or very slow browsing
Slow internet has direct relation with packet losses and timeouts. Even if you are getting 150ms in ping command with packet losses and time outs. But in game you will get 3 times more ping + delays + lags.yes very high packet loses , ping is also high and VPN's are also barely working keeps disconnecting after a while or very slow browsing
Given TW was working throughout, I'd say this was a technical outage, not some mala fide activity.any thoughts on the network outage througout the country last friday morning and then monday morning? do u really believe their reasons?
