Just for the sake of doing it, replace the modem.

Also, post a screenshot of your line stats.
I've convinced the guy to come and replace my modem in the morning. Let's see if he turns up. I've also escalated the issue on a higher level to try and get some answers before I give up and go to Nayatel.

Here are my line stats (VDSL 2)

Attenuation is slightly on the higher side. Attainable rate seems okay.

What is your line profile configured as? Should normally be written just below attainable rate.

Now that I'm looking at my stats, is it normal to have upstream line attenuation at 0?
It should say 'Rate' right under attainable rate.

What VDSL modem do you have and how old is the wiring?
0 attenuation seems a bit odd.

Edit: Just read your line stats again, all the upstream values are negative. Something is definitely wrong.

My modem is only one year old. In fact they installed a brand new VDSL modem just last Ramzan. The wiring was replaced a couple months ago when I was facing disconnections and it's actually good quality wiring this time so I don't think that's the issue. I'm convinced my modem is at fault.

Here's another observation I made last night. When I try to run a speed test through Ookla, my upload speed test either times out or it takes too long to start. Download test is fine. The behavior is such that it seems like my modem is struggling to connect to servers for a speed test. Does that make any sense?

Anyway, I've kicked up a fuss and have been giving PTCL a danda since yesterday to change my modem. They have finally agreed and have promised to come and take a look today. I'm not getting my hopes up since it's Jumah and these guys go home at 2pm here. But I'll pray that they will keep their word. I'm fed up.

Works 99% of the time. Make sure to mention names of anyone you dealt with so that they know how to proceed with the inquiry. Speeds up the process a lot.

I filed a complaint with the new Citizen's Portal yesterday. I will use this link too. Thanks buddy.
On one hand, it's awesome that complaints are solved so promptly after complaining to PTA and Citizens Portal, but it's sad that we have to involve them for every single complaint.

I mean there have been maybe 1 or 2 complaints in my entire duration of using PTCL that have been solved by using just 1218. Otherwise the only way to actually get work done is by pressuring them through PTA.

Bhai I have done as you recommended but I hope merey saath zidd na nikalein PTCL waley. I dropped names in the complaint and PTA says it does not guarantee privacy of complaints, meaning they can share my write up with the local exchange LOL

They usually do get a copy of it. My exchange AM hates me because he always reads my rude and insulting emails since they're CC'd to him and his team. They can't do zidd because of PTA pressure, otherwise they normally would throw a fit.

Is there any way to get PTCL to fix my routing issue? Because this bs has been going on since I moved here and this issue keeps returning after every few months and I don't want to waste money on a VPN. I just emailed them the complete details (server IPs,location, my current IP pool) without my landline number because I know that these meatheads will end up registering a complaint. I even tweeted them about the issue and they told me to activate Fastpath which is already active on my line and their reply makes no sense. Its just frustrating when my Indian friend with whom I play Rainbow 6 gets a better ping on both EU and Asian servers and maintains a stable ping without any issues every few months.

If they don't come to test my installation etc by tomorrow afternoon and guarantee an active connection by Monday, I'm removing everything they installed and putting it in a box outside and telling them to collect it. I've had enough of this bullshit. The lineman has had his phone off for 2 days straight, my internet is.. lol-worthy.. and Mr Fiber Guy hasn't shown face in over 2 weeks.

Complain here and put Provision of Services as complaint nature. Do it now and you'll see monday tak khud hi theek ho jayein ge.

Ugh PTCL came to replace my modem and screwed even more things up. Due to them installing a new VDSL modem, the Smart TV is no longer working. As soon as the tech guy left I called him back to come fix the TV. He promised he'd return after Jumah but has since been ignoring my texts and calls. So now I'm sitting without a TV.

Does anyone here know how to configure Smart TV with a new VDSL modem? I called 1218 and the guy tried talking me through the steps but halfway through the call I could tell he was reading a script and had no idea what he was saying. Long story short, it didn't work. If anyone can help me configure it, I'd be very grateful.
