Thats strange too coz I didnt get any additional charges on my Jazz Postpaid bill too. if they have changed it to 13Mbps then definitely it would be choking your actual package speed. so tell them to change it back to 16Mb , 12Mb package and 4Mb for Smart TV. it would be better then. PTCL is just good in unlimited downloads. ZONG is not unlimited so thats the problem.

Yeah, normally these type of things kick off from Rwp/Isl. However, PTCL has put uncharacteristic focus on Faisalabad. Which leads me to believe they are aiming to hurt Nayatel's relatively recent launch there.

Bhai meray , haven't played a proper lag free FIFA , battlefield rocket league game since May so understand our desperation when we see people getting 20 30 Ms on the same isp .besides my sincerest apologies that you have to scroll an inch more on ur phone and probably 2 3 inches more on ur desktop by scrolling down traceroutes must be really inconvenient for you

That's because SMW4 and TW1 had issues, besides, BF4 EU has been fine for me since May.
People getting low pings on the same ISP or different ISPs is irrelevant, they're all temporary anyway, I remember getting 50 ms ping to DXB Valve but they only lasted a few weeks and since May (as you said), shit has been messed up.

You do realise that when you quote someone else's traceroute, and post your traceroute in reply, it just shows the same shit again? If you need to post a traceroute, use the spoiler tag, upload a screenshot, and MENTION/TAG the user instead of quoting them.
yes I asked them for 10 days nicely .they didnot do anything .turns out they have laid off a lot of people in ptcl plus customer service has been outsourced to third party company .thats why I downgraded my package plus the additional charges they put in the bill this month .

1) wrong. I3d.net ME server issue had nothing to do with cable cut. It started a month before the cable cut because DU, an ISP in UAE, stopped connecting it's customers to i3d.net. Even Etisalat are getting 200 plus to i3d.net servers. I have been in contact with i3d all the way through and have actually helped get the connection sorted. This is also a temporary fix because we are connecting through omantel, an upstream provider for TW. There's work towards a long term fix that will enable TW and i3d to connect directly. I could elaborate on that if anybody is interested.
2) I have always had 20 ms to dxb.valve.net except the duration of the cable cut. Maybe that's not the case for you and I'll assume that's ptcl. I would show you my tracert but as you say that's inconvenient.

You just have to tell them to take it up with TW. Give them the server IP and say that other ISPs using TW are getting 20 ping. I suppose that translates to 50 where you live.

Well I am from Faisalabad and I can feel your pain. The thing is PTCL not only facing competition from Nayatel but also from Stormfiber and Fiberlink which offers even better packages and volume than Nayatel. And all three of them are expanding their coverage very fast.
And a PTCL's data hub is located at Center exchange (Chiniot Bazar) Faisalabad which controls data traffic of almost 70% of Punjab. I still remember a short circuit in that exchange few years ago caused data outage for lot of areas. So it might be easy for them to upgrade exchanges here for transform packages.
And upgradation depends on many factors for all companies. It shouldn't necessarily start from Rawalpindi/Islamabad like Jazz is merging 2G network with warid and upgrading 4G spectrum all over the country. And Jazz started upgrading 4G spectrum from Gujranwala, Chinot and Sialkot and than moved to Multan and Lahore. Still there is no work started at Faisalabad, Karachi or Rawalpindi/Islamabad. They even didn't merged 2G spectrum at Rawalpindi/Islamabad yet.

i have emailed them fingers crossed what they say now , i can play with 160 ping but at peak times on my inconvenient traceroute it shows so much network variance in game and the packetloss makes it unplayable

Yup, internet acting up again. It's actually disconnecting this time around. Pakistani sites open just fine but Facebook etc. won't open sometimes. Prolly that submarine cable issue again.
We are talking DSL here and I think competition is key in the introduction of these packages. In Rawalpindi, we have either PTCL or Nayatel. A fibre-provider, Optix, started services earlier this year with decent speeds but they only offer them to one housing society. And Nayatal's packages don't turn up the heat on PTCL so they are pretty chill atm. Whereas, as you say in Faisalabad, competiton is very tough, quite like Lahore and Karachi with several players providing hi speed broadband services at affordable rates.
