Yeah, being in a car a second quicker per lap than anyone else helps. Hope the others get their act together and we see the engines unfreeze.

Rosberg has made far too many mistakes, especially while leading.Cr edit to him though, he's been immense in qualy this year against the fastest driver on the grid, and I'm sure he'll return much stronger in races next year. He seems like a good learner.

I feel for Nico. Hamilton was expected to be WC but I don't believe anyone wanted him to win that way without Nico having a fighting chance due to mechanical faliure

To be fair, Mattiachi always looked like he was there temporarily until they could get someone long-term or maybe pursue Ross Brawn out of retirement.

Loophole allows engine development
A loophole in F1's regulations is set to allow Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes to develop their engines throughout the 2015 season.

Engine development was a hot topic in the latter months of 2014 as Ferrari and Renault pushed to have the engine freeze lifted in a bid to close the gap to Mercedes.

And although that never materialised, a loophole in the regulations means they will be permitted to develop their units throughout this year's Championship.

Ah, the old phenomena of vague rules and difference of interpretations. That's Formula 1 in a nutshell for you, gentlemen. The teams (or engine manufacturers in this case) somehow, always find a way around until that loophole is closed. This is a massive one and wouldn't surprise me if the FIA acted swiftly to close it. So much for cost cutting though...

The article also says:

This loophole, though, will not apply to McLaren's new engine partner Honda.

Returning to Formula 1 in 2015, Honda will have to lodge their engine at the first race of this season and won't be permitted to make any chances until the end of the Championship.
So Honda is fucked, unless they have a pretty good engine already, which is highly unlikely.

Ron is a strange guy. I know he wanted more control over the engine development, but I'm not sure why a team would want to move away from Mercedes engines. They are at the forefront of engine development and enjoyed an advantage over others that I've not seen before. Williams clearly demonstrated that if you have a great package around the engine, it's possible to get good results. Surely he should be looking inside his own team?

Hello Everyone... Never knew we had a Formula1 thread :p

During the races development of engines is very tricky. Even if the team are allowed to "develop" throughout the year the total number of PU allowed are still 4.

And usually teams have pre-allocated which engine will be used for which race and they have used 2-3 engines in 3-4 starting races and ten re-use them throughout the year. It will be really interesting to see how teams manage to insert an updated engine during the races.

I am pretty sure they were developing the engine last year as well but weren't applying it on the PU's in-use. As for Ferrari, their turbo unit was down as well and they were looking to change the supplier. Anyways, this certainly makes things interesting though I doubt anyone would be able to catch Mercedes again.

I agree. I feel 2016 will be the nearest year where we will see the others challenging the Mercs, though actually defeating them is a different story altogether. Unless there are some drastic changes in rules that allows others to catch up pretty fast, I can see Mercedes dominating for at least 4 years.

I dont think Honda is fucked maybe Mclaren was providing with the "battle" date of the last season to honda since mclaren knows it will use honda engines in 2015
but thats just speculation...

I guess then 2015 season will be pretty boring half way through the season :-(
I dont like when team dominates the whole season no fun in that

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
