Yesterday I was using my friend's phone (Techno). Dialed number on Zong. HD call was written below number. I think Zong is testing its VOLTE service.
Easy way to test: if it stays on 4G while you're talking and you're able to use data, then it's VoLTE.

Otherwise, no.

Few devices supports VOLTE but feature isnt enable by device side, But network enabled IMS registration. For instance Oppo A5s supports Telenor VOLTE but device running on old updates didnt enable option for turning on VOLTE. So on those devices when we call HD icon appears. LTE changes to 3G.

Then that means the phone isn't using VoLTE.

Telenor was the first operator to have VoLTE a few years back... On one device or something (AFAIR), but it's time these slugs launch it across the spectrum.

Interestingly, no operator supports Apple nor Pixel devices, which are the most standardized phones (in the sense that there are only a few variations in each model across the whole world) so they're more alike "global phones". Samsung makes phones for different regions, so do Oppo, Huawei and the rest.

Yet, these are not supported.

Welcome to Pakistan, where Jazz just told me to change my handset because the network lady told me my number is invalid because I was dialing 051-1218, and 15 wouldn't connect (it happened recently and I'm not going to test it now).

I mean - change the handset for a "number not recognized" error from the network end?

I know we're left behind respect to all those advancement in tech. I asked Telenor to provide me mbn file for testing purpose, and complain many times. But they are saying same thing. VOLTE only rollout for Realme, Oppo, Infinity devices and they are end up. Telenor VOLTE sometimes fake us. Only icon appears on top of the bar. But when we call someone it turns to 3G. And Jazz is still far behind our area still have 3G(limited to 2,3 bars out of 5). Ufone is national operator we can't blame. Zong is good enough. Hope we'll see 5G spectrum auction in this year. If we want to see 5G in 2025 or so.

I've seen that Mobilink works very well even on poor signals.

For instance, if the same diminished signal levels are seen across all phones (less than 100dBm and all), Mobilink will still perform much better.

But I've noted their speedtests to their own servers are far from accurate - they seem to have employed some sort of split tunneling when you select Jazz as the server (which gives you unthrottled speeds) but when you select another server, you get the true speed.

Which can range anywhere between 3Mbps and up... and this is likely because of the backbone congestion between the tower and their network. When you connect to another tower, the same off-network server will give you blazing fast speeds.

So - when you perform a test on Mobilink next time, DON'T pick their own server if you want to know your ACTUAL throughput. If you want to know the speed of the data link (between you and the tower), pick Jazz. Which can be nice to fool people with though too!

Yes you're right. I didn't say Jazz is bad. But our area is backward and still didn't get 4G. I have reported over Citizen portal multiple times. Jazz and Zong both are in race of advancement. Zong is working far better in backward areas.

Try PTA.

I complained about a signal blackhole. Jazz said "yeah no whatever". I didn't live in this pocket (and when it did happen in the pocket I lived in, they took over a few years!).

After complaining to PTA and getting their confirmation message, it was pending. Even after a month or so. When I checked it a few months after, the signals issue was fixed (I couldn't place calls on 3G).

So... try PTA?

Sure I will try. But Citizen Portal complain isn't same? Should I complain on PTA website?

i think all companies doing same thing...
full blazing speed on ookla speed test app,
but actual speed 1Mbps-6Mbps.
yeh new triqqa hai logon ko ullu bana'ne ka.

Pixels only get VoLTE in countries where they're sold officially. Not a Jazz issue, but Google has to partner with the carriers for VoLTE profiles.

It does work on Apple AFAIK, just requires a newly issued SIM and the latest carrier update installed.

Samsung's different models are no longer an issue either, I have two Samsung phones, both of which are variants not sold in Pak, and Jazz VoLTE instantly registered on both of them.

It works on pretty much all recent A Series, S Series and Note Series models as long as they're not running modified / custom ROMs.

Considering how recently it was launched, Jazz's VoLTE compatibility is quite decent and similar to most foreign carriers.

So finally Jazz VOLTE is here.
Jazz VOLTE is working superbly on Xiaomi devices.
We have to register it through Jazz Twitter handle. Ask them to register VOLTE on your number. They will say, VOLTE is only for limited users. But then we'll insist them for testing purpose. They will register it on your number. IMG_20220118_110641.jpgScreenshot_2022-01-18-08-10-56-361_com.android.incallui.jpg

I have xiaomi too. I have asked them multiple times but they say it's for limited users only. How did you manage to convince them to enable on your number?

Difference in Telenor and Jazz/Zong VoLTE is is that Telenor only partnered with OEM's like OPPO and Realme but Jazz/Zong on the other hand also partnered with Chipset manufacturers like Qualcomm. Jazz/Zong VoLTE works on all Snapdragon 678+, 720+, 860+ devices.

I have Samsung Note 9 N960U but it is not working on my device. I messaged jazz twitter support they said it is in the testing phase and for selected customers. I requested them 4-5 times again but they just ignore my messages.

Zong, you say? They've launched VoLTE? I don't think anyone here mentioned it (with proof).

Also, how many of these operators support VoLTE on the iPhone, btw?

As for the Pixel 4 - it's a shame it's SD 855... which makes me raise this question: is this chipset-dependent, or IMEI-dependent?

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
