I see resemblance in how both Telenor and Zong have made their networks: multiple sites, but with less power (so that there isn't a lot of overlap) vs. Mobilink which has fewer sites but stronger power (to cover the geography).

Result? In pockets, Zong and Telenor will do well - but you move a bit to the left or right and the speed drops. Mobilink would be able to hold onto a higher speed for a longer time - until you reach the fringe.

So - it largely depends on your luck (assuming you get signals). At my house, for example, Mobilink has weaker dB relative to Zong, but has way faster speeds - I suppose it's cause of the power of the tower which lets the phone hold onto a good signal vs Zong (Telenor doesn't really work anyway) that may have slightly better signal strength but awful speeds. Both towers are equidistant from one another.

On the other hand, if a tower goes down, the area covered by Zong will probably be less affected since they have multiple towers covering the same area - just that each tower has a smaller geographic range vs. Mobilink, where a bigger region would be dark.

Think of it as one circle, and attempting to fit three hexagons (Mobilink) or 6 hexagons (Zong).

Edit: I realized this because I tested it with my wifi repeater - i reduced its transmit power and saw a reduction in my wifi speeds. When I brought it back up high, the speeds restored. Yes, wireless is more complicated than this but the principle applies... I guess.

Anyone have any updates on VoLTE on the operators?

How's Telenor's VoLTE? Jazz's VoLTE? Reliability? Newly-supported phones?

Using it on jazz for a month now very good voice quality, it's very reliable no call got disconnected or any voice distortion that you notice in any typical vodata medium.jazz doesn't have any specific Phone compatibility criteria. Let's say a Samsung phone from 2018 has working volte (Galaxy j4). It's working on my mi a3 and Poco x3.

They told me it isn't available for my phone (Galaxy S10 5G).

Telenor Fake Speed
Not just them - Mobilink also has this issue more often than not, and I've noted it varies from tower to tower.

Basically, it's what the guy explained in the video - a speedtest to a local server (Jazz on Jazz) works very, very fast but a speedtest to another server (Jazz on PTCL or Nayatel or Transworld) isn't even half as great. And some days back, I noticed downloads from the Play Store were slagging quite badly.

I don't exactly understand why this is happening, but the fact that you're getting 20Mbps on Telenor is good news lol.

yeh to telenor nay 20Mbps jadoo say kia howa hai na, warna inki asal speed to 1Mbps hai. ager mein 5-6 bar speedtest karon to speed phr oske bad speedtest par 1Mbps say upper nai jati. jab tak k mein mobile restart ya wifi device reboot na karon jahan telenor ki sim ho, hahaha

yeh sare mil kar humien pagal bana rha hain,
