Way too many filters.
For LTE, everything is blocked there. WhatsApp calls blocked, Viber blocked, Skype blocked, FB Messenger calls blocked andFacetime blocked.
The speeds might be great if you want to load YouTube all day, because I'll have to admit, it does that flawlessly.
Even downloading is restricted, so speedtests will blow your mind with 75-80 Mbps, but if you ever try a direct download, from any server, you won't be getting anywhere near that sort of speed. Not even half of it to be honest.

As for home internet, one of the ISPs owns PTCL, so you can figure out yourself how reliable it is, their customer support sucks, their internet sucks, every VOIP app is blocked, but after enough tries, a Skype call may get established. Gaming sucks on it, try asking a gamer from UAE to host a server, even people in the UAE will have trouble joining it.

The other ISP uses CGN and charges people for real IPs if required, so that's just a whole different level of restriction.

So yes, speedtests are blazing fast, YouTube streams blazing fast, and that's about it. Nothing else is blazing fast, in fact it's a pain to live with using 4G there because nothing works right.

I might as well add a few lines on Emirati LTE
Etisalat :
Its 80Mbps+ all the time. Coverage is almost perfect as is quality.
Its EXPENSIVE.
Downloads are BLAZING FAST.
Customer Service is satisfactory

I found Du to be pretty decent, consistent 50+ Mbps on LTE all the time.

Yeah. It's kinda like the competition of Verizon and AT&T in US. Whenever Verizon introduces new/updated packages, AT&T catches up.

Nearly all their packages are identical, with a few bonuses ( free wifi connectivity etc )

You mean "unlimited*" (with an asterisks, because over there, their unlimited means speeds are throttled after busting a cap).

Usually, people say the American cellular market is expensive and stuff - but you'd be surprised to know that people want Verizon to come to Canada because the operators in Canada are way, WAY more expensive than their American counterparts.

So Zong 4G hasn't been extraordinarily fast since I've gotten it. This is indoors with about -75 to -80 dBm of signal strength.
However, browsing performance wise and YouTube streaming is a lot more stable and reliable compared to Telenor.

Fast speedtests doesnt matter for me if browsing and streaming is not good ... so I would say Zong is way better than Telenor ...

I suspect something: these three tests - were they conducted in the SAME EXACT SPOT?

Zong had an issue (back then) that off-network data traffic wouldn't necessarily go beyond 8Mbps in the evenings, but speedtests gave good results.

And the Nayatel result seems to indicate the same thing has happened.

That's not to say you'll get bad results on torrents, which use multithreading - but this issue doesn't persist everywhere either (Islamabad Club and it's surroundings would give you good speeds).

The Nayatel and Zong Islamabad one were taken within 3-4 feet from each other, the Zong Lahore one was taken while standing near an open window, about 20 feet away from the first 2 tests.

Yes, it seems that speedtests on non-Zong servers are crap, but YouTube and everything else seem to work great.

Same issue on my side, I'm from Karachi. Franchises' just refuse the availability of 4g prepaid sims. On Facebook jazz page I asked about jazz 4g sims they say it depends on availability, if they don't have go to other franchise/office. Also sent a blank sms to 7089, it does not reply back. Jazz website does not have the addresses or location of franchises.

For everyone going to franchises, if you are on pre-paid just get the sim which has the new JAZZ logo. Picture would be available in previous pages. Then just have 4G activated by dialing, *43 or 46# if I remember correct.

BEst is to visit Business centers.

Opposite Bait-ul mukarram is the Jazz office on university road.

Punjab chorangi - Gizri chorangi - Besides PSO

Nazimabad near Opposite Hardees just before Pari mall.
