saw JPNA 2 at cmax last night packages mall

Spoiler: show

well finally got the time to watch this, i saw the first one during the eid holidays 2 years back and that one was quite hilarious and had original feel to it, this one however did not had that feeling.... it felt like a mixed up of different movies a bit here and there and recycled jokes from the first movie.. although some scenes did made me laugh out loud like the first one it just couldn't hold upto the first one.

the movies basically divided into two parts the first half and the second one.. first half was quite funny and all and second one takes a bollywood kinda dive in and such with the wedding, indo-pak stuff

though i must say vasay choudhry has come along way since the first movie, he kept me entertained along with ahmad butt who in the second half his transformation was WHOA and than it was sohail ahmad my god the legend was downright hilarious...

fahad and humayun were OK although they kinda tried to be or were the lead, the costars outshone them IMO in terms of entertainment and made the movie bearable...

its a good entertainment flick just not as good as the first one but still enjoyable

Rating: 7/10

Ocean's Eight......................(8/10) watched in HD, this time an all female cast and boy they were shining. Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway looked so ravishing. Overall a nice heist movie which kept my interest.

Mission Impossible 6: Fallout......................(8/10) watched at Vox Cinema, Dubai. Tom Cruise just never seems to age! Henry Cavill was a good addition in the cast. The car chase scene in Pairs and the last helicopter chase were the highlights for me!

Hereditary (2018)

I didn't watch any trailers (or even if I had, I didn't remember them) and pretty much went in Blank and I managed my expectations cause most of you have probably noticed that any decent or good horror movie is praised like crazy on the internet these days and you buy into the hype and then ultimately get disappointed.

So with that mindset, I watched the movie and I gotta say, what an eerily creepy and awesome movie. The story wasn't anything new when you strip it down to its core, but it's the added execution to that story that made this film work.

The cinematography and the soundtrack worked hand in hand from the getgo to create this thrilling tension that hardly lets up. That combined with the gripping family drama thanks to the amazing performances, especially from Toni Collete who honestly deserves an Oscar nod for her role as the mother, makes you not only get more attached to the film while watching it and trying to figure out what's what, but also makes you feel a lot for the family, which in turn makes everything that happens a whole lot more entertaining, engaging and shocking.

The pacing was also great, for the most part. I mean it's a slow-burn horror/thriller movie for sure, but unlike many others that do a similar approach (movies like The Witch comes to mind), Hereditary had a nice way of not only building the tension but also grabbing you and shaking you at different points throughout the film and not just the end, ultimately making the film feel flow better and giving it a more consistent feel.

Also, I was SUPER GLAD that there weren't any jump scares, or maybe there was perhaps one, but nothing cheap or shitty like the typical stuff. And any less experienced filmmaker would have gone for those scares as there certainly were areas where one would expect something like that but the film instead uses that to its advantage, getting more under your skin. And I LOVED THAT.

When it comes to the horror factor, well... it's hard to say. The movie didn't straight up scare me to death or anything like that, and it's definitely not the scariest movie ever etc. But here's the thing, the movie still got to me. There was something disturbing and thrilling about the whole experience that I couldn't immediately shake off. It's like instead of scaring the shit out of you, it slowly and surely sank its teeth into you with some big bites, not letting you go. It got under my skin and remained there long after the movie was over. And some images felt like they were burned into my brain. And I LOVED that.

The movie wasn't perfect, though. There was a portion in the second act where the pacing felt a bit off. And the final 10 mins or so felt a bit detached from the rest of the movie. Would have loved more subtlety there.

Overall, I had a great time. Intense family Drama with horror elements. Highly recommended. Just don't go in thinking it's the scariest thing ever made or anything like that.

It Comes At Night (2017)

It Comes At Night is a psychological thriller from the studio A24. I've been wanting to watch it for a long while now but always pushed it away. Finally gave it a shot.

What the movie does right is thrust you into the situation of the characters. There isn't a lot of exposition, so you are kept in the dark along with the characters and only know what they know, which intrigues you and creates anticipation and that makes you be more invested in the movie. The performances were good with some being great. I particularly loved Joel Edgerton's acting, dude was awesome. Along with that, the movie is well-shot with some beautiful scenes, and the sound design+music definitely helps in increasing the tension level. I also liked how I was contemplating on things related to the plot, it was engaging.

On the other hand, the movie is a super slow burn. It takes its sweet time which I don't mind and would even like if that slow burn is justified, but here it felt like that is all there is. When the movie ended, I just had this massive feeling of being underwhelmed. Whether it was because I was engaged during the movie and was hoping for more and the movie didn't have more or I didn't like how the movie created the tension and anticipation earlier only to show you what it really is or if it was the wrong marketing of the movie that made me have higher hopes but yeah, it was just underwhelming for me.

All in all, underwhelming but still not a bad movie. I can see what the director was going for and if I hadn't known anything about the movie, I would have enjoyed it more. Anyway, if you're looking for a psychological thriller and NOT A HORROR movie, give it a try.

Spoiler: show

Well this one has to be the weakest in the conjuring series etc spinoffs and all.. not much jump scares though it was quite slow and the movie was short too like 1hour 30mins or so all other were 1hour 40 plus atlleast, the whole valek thing was already done in conjuring and this time they were like hiding her identity till the last second to build up scare but that didn't go well either. the scenes were OK at best if i had to say

taissa farmiga was good though and so was demian bichir plus frenchie yeah that guy was the humour in the movie lol..

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018)

"Kick names, take ass."

Thanos, the one thing Infinity War does the greatest. The dude needs to 'chill the eff out'. In just first 10 minutes, he caused more damage than all marvel movies combined. Kinda handsome, with a poetic persona, head drilling chilling voice, huge physical presence and badass facial expressions; by far the most threatening personality of all marvel heroes/villains, all thanks to Josh Brolin, and the best of all time CGI.

Humor, check. Fear on Hulk's face, check. 'Morons', check. 'The-most-amazing-entry-by-THOR-in-Wakanda-Battle', check. It's a truly mesmerizing experience seeing every marvel movie ups the ante by a gazillion and provides an experience of a millennium. Every scene is a work of art, with every moment calling for a fan theory. And it's really amazing how much detail MCU holds in every scene. This only makes you mega excited about the things to come next.

I admired the strong chemistry right from the beginning, coherence from Thor:Ragnarok, and no waste of time at all. Spectacular stunts, Beautifully choreographed, 100% action packed, keeps you on the edge of your seat. I clapped, smiled, laughed my ass off, and even gave standing ovations. Never have I ever been this excited about just a movie. I am lost on words. This might be one of the greatest directed movie ever made.

But the real question is, Why is Gamora?

1000/1000 (y) ... because a 10 is so underrated.

DEADPOOL 2 (2018)

"Lady Luck!, take the wheel." ...

I could potentially divide this roller coaster ride into 2 categories. When it's absolutely brilliant. And when it's absolutely NOT.

Brilliant Moments:
+ Into of Cable with attack on Ice Box.
+ Persona of Cable. Cool act, man.
+ Jabs to DC, Thanos, X-Men and Basic Instinct. :D and Time reversals at the end. Hehe. Nice touch.
+ Bond-esque intro.
+ The 'dying' moments at the end.
+ Timeline fixations in Mid and Post Credit Scenes. Job well done, lol.

Lackluster Moments:
- Lady luck.
- Basic instinct. (too much).
- Poor CGI or Too much of it, rather.
- The overblown Firefist kid.
- Generally boring and bland.
- The "L" ladies. (I hate it the way they just inject a homo 'superhero' just for the sake of it.)

I don't dislike Deadpool 2. It's was fun, and it did what it did best. I got entertained, and saw Ryan Reynolds absolutely conquered everything. But other than Cable and Deadpool, every other aspect of Deadpool 2 is too generic. 6/10.

Well said. A masterpiece of a film. I'm still amazed how the Russos and the team were able to put SO MUCH in it and still made it flow properly all the while making it a THANOS movie. This is the epitome of what a cinematic universe can achieve if done right. There are SO MANY little details and amazing moments that it's crazy.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

I didn't have any high expectations and I just wanted to watch an entertaining Dino movie and see how they follow up after Jurassic World. But I guess even that was too much to ask. I don't know WTF were the writers smoking but holy shit this movie is an utter MESS!

Getting the positives out of the way first. Director J.A Bayona did try his best with what he was given. The movie looks good and is better than Jurassic World in that department. CGI definitely looks better. There are some sequences in the movie that felt like some actual care went into them, so much so that they feel out of place but the scenes themselves were good. I also liked the movie touched on an ethical dilemma. And keeping with the tradition, I'm glad that the Raptors are still getting the limelight and Blue+Owen relationship was again something I enjoyed.

But thanks to the writing/screenplay, everything was just thrown into a blender until it was nothing but a gooey mushy mess. The characters were meh or horrible. Typical cliched bad guys that felt more like cartoons than people. Annoying side characters. Even Chris Pratt felt like he was done with most of the stupid shit as his performance and character felt like it got worse as compared to Jurassic World in many parts of the movie. Bryce Dallas Howard was fine, tho.

I don't know why but for some reason, the stupid plot point from Jurassic World not only makes a return but what they end up doing with it... I was pretty much laughing at certain points. Not only does Fallen Kingdom feels like Jurassic Park 1 and Jurassic Park 2 in a lot of areas due to homages or references some plot similarities, what's insulting is that they basically rehash the story from Jurassic World and give you nothing but stupidity. The story as a whole was just bad and the more you think about it, the worse it gets.

Then you add the poor pacing where a lot of things just get rushed through while other sequences would take their time giving a very inconsistent feeling throughout. Michael Giacchino, who is one of my favorite contemporary composers, didn't do much here. His score was serviceable for the movie but nothing memorable in it and I was also disappointed that the main theme was not even used properly once in the movie. Another disappointed, Jeff Goldblum. While the trailer might have made it seem like he will have somewhat of a role in the movie, it's pretty much non-existent. The movie also has this one very cheap blow of a scene that it definitely didn't deserve but it was an easy way to make the audience feel sad, and it worked for me too, which is why I hated how they did it all the more cause you can tell the low blow you are getting while watching it.

The movie as a whole feels like two different sequels were squashed together in a poor fashion in order to reach the next leg of the story quickly which I presume would be in Part 3.

I can go on and on about the issues in the movie but having enjoyed Jurassic World, which at least had that epic finale if nothing else, it's safe to say this was a massive disappointment. There is some entertainment to be had but it doesn't remain for long as something stupid always happens and makes you either laugh or just sigh at what were they thinking.

And if I were to rate it, I'd probably give it 5/10.

Saw "the predator" at cinepax packages mall last night

Spoiler: show

so i had low expectations heading in this one because of the ratings it got hit with averaging around 6's and so on but i was actually quite entertained and this felt a real sequel to the first predator.. those lines and quotes from the first one was just plain nostalgia

the movie didn't had that scare factor like the first one but it did had lots of action and humour aswell.

i think the critics got harsh on this one.
