Not a bad game but I don't see all the fuss. I understand for a content starved console like Switch it was a big deal .. but eh.
The final boss is basically a watered down Shadow of the Colossus boss.
Also, Zelda totally vag-blocked that fish lady and stole Link lol.

The site they are using for that count has 189 for Zelda: BoTW now. And you won't be happy to find out that Witcher 3 actually has 257 awards listed there. Pretty sure you won't be bragging about THAT Zelda count anymore.
I'm surprised you were able to finish the game. I started AC Origins alongside it and found that to be more engrossing than the empty and soulless world in BoTW. Never got back to playing it after that.And done.

I hope you realize that development of a 3rd party multiplatform game is much more difficult and challenging than a 1st party exclusive

Well there's always going to be a minority that doesn't see the fuss about a widely appreciated game lol. Also, it didn't win all those GoTY awards just by competing with the Switch's own library. That said, the biggest competition it received was in fact from a Switch game (Mario Odyssey)
Which in itself is pretty cool, and it was made possible thanks to the game's excellent traversal system. As a developer, Nintendo understands that games are all about, well, gameplay. It's an interactive medium, and BoTW offers the greatest degree of interactivity I've seen in an open world game. Everything in the game's world abides by its physics system, whether it be platforming or puzzles. I sincerely hope other studios pay attention to what has been accomplished here and strive for more interactivity in their own games.
Imagine a Horizon: Zero Dawn with this kind of a traversal system, as opposed to looking for those slightly different colored ledges/platforms you can interact with lol.
That's true, but Breath of the Wild was also developed for 2 hardware platforms.
I have a (bad) habit of not being able to put down a game until I finish it. There has only been 1 game where I broke that rule .. Lichdom Battle Mage. Yes. I almost finished that game too.
You know, it's the weirdest thing but even though they are critically acclaimed, I personally have absolutely no interest in Nintendo's franchises. And it's not even a case of "because I can't play them". I can run Dolphin at 4K but I have absolutely no interest in pulling up any of Nintendo's "classics". I would much rather play a game like Baten Kaitos than Mario Sunshine or Zelda Wind Waker.
i was making a point that witcher 3 was played by many since multiplat than zelda being exclusive to nintendo systems but yet gained that many GOTY and the closest competition as cerebraltiger said was mario for zelda haha
ohh and it didn't even need adult themes to reach there aswell

Zelda is a more than 30 years old franchise. Witcher 1 was exclusive and Witcher 2 wasn’t available on a Sony or Nintendo console. Witcher 3 is the first multiplatform game available on the 3 major platforms. Your point doesn’t make any sense as far as populartiy is concerned.
Witcher 3 ‘s competition was way tougher than Zeldas as far as open world games are concerned. It was up against Fallout 4, Akrham Knight and MGS V (lets throw in XC2 as well for good measure). All these games, and comfortably slaughtered Bloodborne as well (so much for having so-called “superior combat” lol). It was the game of the generation since it came out, and still ranks in the top tier games alongside BoTW.
