NPD results (US only)

- TLoU 2 highest selling game of the month.
- TLoU 2 has become 3rd highest selling game of the year in a single month.
- Highest launch month in terms of revenue for any game in 2020.
- Despite a much larger worldwide launch, TLoU 2 was still behind Spider Man PS4 in the US launch period.

Let's be honest, most of these sales were due to the first game.

Pretty sure it was the zanana influence :p
For you maybe, definitely wasn't the case for me :p

Excuses have already started :p

Let me try this too. Ahem:

Let's be honest, most of Breath of the Wild sales were due to the previous games.
Let's be honest, most of GTA V sales were due to the previous games.
Let's be honest, most of Cyberpunk's sales will be due to CDPR's previous games.
Even IF Nintendo makes a bad Mario or Zelda game (which hasn't happened in a long time), it'll sell in millions based on fanbase for these franchises. The continued sales of the game, as in case of BOTW, are due to strengths of the game itself.

GTA V early sales were good because it was a GTA game. The number of sales it garnered after that for many many years are purely on its own merit.

Yes, many of Cyberpunk's early sales will be due to Witcher 3. Sales after the initial period will be based on the game itself.

Ah, so all the other examples are, or will be, because of the strengths and merits of those games.

But TLoU 2, for some reason, only broke PlayStation sales records and sold about as much as the entire PS3 versions LTD sales in a single month because .. reasons ? :p

Let's be honest, this is nothing but clutching at straws lol.

I guess there can never be a mature discussion on PG without fanboyism. Carry on then.

I guess there really can't.

A game X person doesn't like simply cannot be a commercial and critical success without caveats and excuses. 🤣

Yeah, check that guy out who clearly states it as his opinion and doesn't call others fanboys when they disagree with his reasoning 🤣

Let's be honest. When someone is making bad faith arguments, they tend to crop and post selective comments, not the entire exchange. 🤣

"I'm not saying it didn't win on merits, I'm saying my excuses were a bigger reason" . that's one approach :ROFLMAO:

People still salty about a game's commercial and critical success after 5 years :ROFLMAO:

Terrible comprehension of obvious post aside, still ignoring the fact how it's clearly stated as the users opinion and doesn't end with user calling anyone disagreeing with him a fanboy 🤣

I guess Nomad is right, it really is difficult to have a decent discussion without needless fanboyism being inserted :ROFLMAO:

So Troy Baker in a recent podcast said that:

"Tell me one thing that makes David the bad guy. I can state a case that David and Joel could be mirror images of each other"

Did he just compare Joel to a pedophile cannibal who tried to rape a teenager Ellie?

Its amazing how much length he is ready to go to for shitting on Joel to please uckmann..

Also uckmann in the same podcast with Troy also said that "I underestimated that how much people loved Joel"

Looks like they both need to play TLOU more than I need to play TLOU2 🤔

Since no one shared the OT maker's favorite critic review, I guess he'll have to do it himself 😄

Edge - 9/10

You can't argue that Naughty Dog hasn't thrown everything at this, and though its tendency towards maximalism doesn't always work, the results are frequently astonishing. This is the kind of game you get when you have unlimited budget and manpower and no one to say when - even if you wish sometimes that someone had. As a big-budget action game, then, The Last of Us Part II is almost without peer. As a sequel to that story, it is deeply, daringly, fascinatingly flawed. [Issue#347, p.88]
Unrivaled action game that is compared to the likes of RE4.
