But as impressive as the technology is, it’s the story and characters that is most important to The Last Of Part 2.
(y)

impressive technology but even more impressive story and characters.

E3 2018 footage was revealed to the public and it didn't end up looking anything like that at all lol.

Lets all believe CerebralTiger instead, the one person who has a hate-boner for every CD Projekt Red game

No wonder Necrokiller is a huge fan of Metro GameCentral. Of all TLoU2 previews, it's the one on this site that intrigued him the most

TLoU's very friendly suite of accessibility customization options detailed.

Will be interesting to see if increasing FoV will have any performance penalties.

Alternate Controls
For the first time in a Naughty Dog game, we are offering full control customization. This allows you to remap every command to a different controller input, including touchpad swipes and controller shake. Because holding or rapidly tapping buttons can be challenging for some players, we have individual options to change every button hold into a toggle, and every rapid press into a hold. Returning from Uncharted 4, we also provide expanded options for camera assistance and lock-on aim.

Magnification and Visual Aids
Text, UI, and gameplay elements that are too small or difficult to read can be frustrating. To address these issues, we created options to fine-tune the HUD size, color, and contrast. Our new High Contrast Display is a special render mode that provides more contrast for in-game elements. We also provide a Screen Magnifier, which allows you to zoom-in on any part of the screen using the DualShock 4 touchpad.

Motion Sickness
Simulated 3D movement can be a source of motion sickness for many players. To create a more visually comfortable experience, we provide options to adjust camera shake, motion blur, camera follow distance, and even field of view. We also provide an option for a persistent white dot in the center of the screen, which can alleviate the sensation.

Text-to-Speech and Audio Cues
Any information that is only represented visually is unavailable to a blind player. To address this discrepancy, we created several options to convey this information through sound and controller vibration instead. Traversal and Combat Audio Cues work alongside the game’s audio to map easily identifiable sounds to commonly used actions (scavenging pickups, jumping across gaps, dodging incoming melee attacks, etc.). These audio cues are catalogued in an audio glossary that you can refer back to at any time. Additionally, our menus and other on-screen text can be voiced using the Text-To-Speech* option. For those that have their language set to English and Text-to-Speech* enabled at the console level, The Last of Us Part II will automatically enable Text-to-Speech for you in-game.
* Text-to-speech features available in all supported languages**, except for Thai

Combat Accessibility
Because we want combat in The Last of Us Part II to be accessible for all players, we provide a number of options that can significantly alter the gameplay experience. For instance, the Invisible While Prone feature allows you to experience stealth gameplay that might otherwise be inaccessible. If you have difficulty aiming, you can give yourself more time by enabling Slow Motion while aiming. Our goal is to provide you with all the tools you need to make the combat experience enjoyable and challenging.

Game Difficulty
As an extension of our accessibility features, The Last of Us Part II also includes expanded difficulty options. At launch, we provide five different challenge levels: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Hard, and Survivor. We also allow you to customize specific aspects of difficulty to your needs or desired experience. You can individually tweak difficulty settings related to incoming damage, enemy and ally effectiveness, stealth, and resources. Trophies are not limited by difficulty.

Whichever receipts you provide will not have me reference it as a cherry picked source

Spoiler: show
I provided multiple sources that were concerned about Cyberpunk's gunplay lol

Barely any new footage. Makes sense, though, since they've already shown quite a bit.

Was waiting for the launch trailer or review embargo to be up before posting the OT. Will do so in the morning.

Yeah, I don't think they'll want to add new footage to a launch trailer after recent events lol. Intentionally spoiling anything is the last thing on their mind.

Anyway, the preview cycle continues and the hype train for the game is incredible.

I don't think I've anticipated a game this much since RE2make or God of War (2018) before.

[h=1]The Last of Us Part 2 dev apologizes for uncredited Ellie song[/h]

Singer-songwriter Lotte Kestner accused Naughty Dog of creating a replica of her cover

Naughty Dog vice president and The Last of Us Part 2 creative director Neil Druckmann apologized on Twitter Tuesday night for an “oversight” that left an indie songwriter’s cover of New Order’s “True Faith” uncredited in the game’s promotional materials.
Anna-Lynne Williams, a singer and songwriter who performs under the name Lotte Kestner, tweeted at Naughty Dog and Druckmann last week, alleging the company used her version of the cover song in an extended trailer for the game. The trailer featured Ellie, voiced by Ashley Johnson, singing a stylized cover of New Order’s “True Faith,” similar to Kestner’s. The original “True Faith” is an upbeat synth song, whereas Kestner’s cover has a slow, acoustic melody.
“‘Hey, are you aware that the True Faith cover you put in your Last of Us 2 trailer is a replica of my cover that came out 10 years ago?” Kestner asked in a now-deleted tweet. “I wrote original parts not in the original song that are copied exactly by whoever covered it. I am heartbroken.”

Kestner’s original tweet gained a lot of traction on Twitter, where fans — of both Kestner and The Last of Us— debated, sometimes with toxicity, over the claim. Others brought up a similar case between musician Jonathan Coulton and Fox’s use of a song similar to Coulton “Baby Got Back” cover on the TV show Glee. Copyright issues regarding cover songs can be challenging, depending on rights first acquired by an artist when creating and recording a cover song.
On Tuesday night, Druckmann tweeted that “Ellie’s rendition of ‘True Faith’ was inspired by Lotte Kestner’s haunting cover of the song. Due to an oversight on our end, she wasn’t credited as intended. Our deep apologizes — we are rectifying this ASAP. We have that @lottekestner receives the recognition she deserves.”

The YouTube description for The Last of Us Part 2’s extended trailer has since been updated to include credit to Kestner’s cover song — “This rendition of ‘True Faith’ was inspired by Lotte Kestner’s haunting cover of the same song: https://lottekestner.bandcamp.com/.”
Kestner tweeted in support of Druckmann’s message shortly after. “So proud this music has found a home in such an amazing project,” she wrote. “Thanks to Neil, Naughty Dog and everyone at Sony.”
Kestner has not responded to Polygon’s request for comment.
Update: A Sony representative issued the following statement to Polygon:
A trailer for The Last of Us Part II included a cover of “True Faith” with vocals performed by Ashley Johnson, who plays Ellie. Credit to Lotte Kestner, whose cover of “True Faith” inspired our recording, was inadvertently omitted. We reached out to Lotte Kestner and are taking steps to ensure she is properly credited.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.

After I watched it, I never felt like i watched a show. It was a friggin journey. I got way too attached to Thorfinn and seeing him grow up and find himself and get rid of all the negativity inside of him was just pure bliss.

With how great cod warzone has translated onto mobile. Mainstream Consoles have lost its value even further. Maybe console gaming was associated with TVs and how TV is not the primary source of media consumption anymore, consoles will lose its 200 million core audiences even further.
