Study Loan for International Students

Instead of talking about whether to go to UK or not or go somewhere else etc etc can we please get back on topic?

I'd like to know about any student loans available if i go abroad for study. Would the loan be taken from a local bank here in Pakistan or the country where im going for studies? And secondly what are its requirements/interest rate/maximum amount etc etc

Many universities nowadays offer financial aid in the form of loans. The details depend university to university.

Why don't you apply for Canadian universities or even USA? Because their scholarship program is enough funded for your education, living expense and extra things. And they don't have only 1 or 2 types of scholarships, they have like 10-15 types and you just apply to that one which suits you or you meet the requirements for that one. I am also in the process of applying for masters. Sent my application in 2 universities in Canada and both have good scholarships programs.

Yes, I am going for MSc Petroleum and Gas Engineering. Fee is GBP 14000 and GBP 8000 has to submitted before commencement of classes. So 8000 are straightway neeeded before landing there.

What about accommodation, travel, food and other amenities expense? UK is an expensive place to live. Also, have you applied for UK visa already? Because its tough getting UK student visa nowadays and you have to show strong bank statement (I think near to 2-3mill) in current account. So, how are you going to do that?

P.S: Take loan from relatives that is the only viable solution.

Pakistani banks AFAIK do not offer Study loan for foreign study (unless you are an employee). Foreign banks (situated in the country of study) do not trust us Pakistanis and so only give loans to locals.

The only genuine funding option is university grants/loans/Scholarships. But for that you need an admission in solid(well funded) top tier university together with an excellent past academic record.

If someone is going abroad for degree to attain a job (after graduation). I suggest they choose Canada or Australia as job market in UK and USA is terribly saturated unless you are aiming for Ivy leagues in USA or Oxbridge in UK.
