[h=2]Street Fighter 5's second beta test coming to PS4 and PC later this month[/h]

Capcom will hold a second multiplayer beta test for Street Fighter 5 later this month, the publisher confirmed today. Players on PlayStation 4 will get access to the beta on Oct. 22, while players on PC will get access on Oct. 24. And for the first time, cross-platform play will be included.
Six characters will be playable in the upcoming beta: Ken, Necalli, Vega, R. Mika, Rashid and Karin. However, Rashid won't be unlocked until Oct. 23 and Karin won't be unlocked until Oct. 24. Characters who were playable in the previous beta — Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash and M. Bison — won't be playable at all.

Street Fighter 5's second playable beta will feature ranked matchmaking, combined PS4 and PC leaderboards, player profile search and some unlockables that can be purchased with Fight Money. (Fight Money is the in-game currency which players can earn by playing Street Fighter 5.) On the Capcom Unity blog, the company said that Fight Money earned in the beta won't carry over to the third beta test or the final game, and that Fight Money values are currently placeholder.
To see if your Windows PC is up to the task of playing the Street Fighter 5 beta, check out Capcom's minimum and recommended hardware specs.
Capcom held the first Street Fighter 5 global beta test in July. It didn't go very well, and Capcom cautions players that the upcoming beta could have its own technical issues.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5’s Comic Con appearance is light on news, heavy on cheers[/h]

While the Street Fighter 5 panel at New York Comic Con today didn't offer much in the way of new information about next year's PlayStation 4 and Windows PC game, fighting game diehards didn't seem to mind.
During a presentation filled with upcoming products (Street Fighter Funko Pop vinyl figures that arrive in 2016; a comic series starting in December; skateboards and more) as well as reiterations of the upcoming beta test and DLC plans, every mention of Capcom's long-running fighting game series held the audience rapt.

Nothing got the crowd going more than the surprise appearance of series creator Yoshinori Ono, who arrived in full costume and passed out lenticular card keychains adorned with Ryu to those lucky enough to have aisle seats.
After taking the stage, Ono became the official overseer of an impromptu battle royale. This mini-tournament came after an explanation of the franchise's larger premier league. Players worldwide compete to take part in the Capcom Cup, which takes place this year in San Francisco on Dec. 6.
Fans in the packed panel room fought to be selected by the developer to participate in a quick series of rounds in the new game. The ultimate winner received a limited edition Street Fighter-themed PlayStation 4 console on the spot.
The matches took place on the game's newly announced New York-themed stage, which made is playable for the first time on the show floor this weekend. Eagle-eyed fans will notice someone familiar in the background: Alex, a fighter whose last starring role was in Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. Ono also acknowldeged fans' desire for the character's expanded role in the game.
Street Fighter 5 is still set for a 2016 launch window on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Those who are just as, if not more excited for the new game as the Comic Con crowd should remember to pre-order before Oct. 22 for access to its second beta, which will offer six playable characters, leaderboards and improved matchmaking functionality.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 launching Feb. 16 on PS4, Dhalsim confirmed for roster[/h]

Street Fighter 5 will be released Feb. 16 in the Americas and Europe, Capcom announced today during Sony's Paris Games Week press briefing.
Yoshinori Ono, the game's executive producer, presented a new trailer for the game starring Dhalsim, the yoga master who debuted in 1991's Street Fighter 2. Dhalsim is the 15th character to be revealed for Street Fighter 5, out of a total launch roster of 16.

Ono also announced that Capcom will release six add-on characters within the first year after Street Fighter 5 launches, and showed a teaser image featuring silhouettes of the fighters. As Capcom said earlier this year, players will be able to unlock all of the DLC characters for free just by playing — they'll earn an in-game currency called Fight Money while playing Street Fighter 5, and will be able to spend it on characters.

Capcom held a second beta test for Street Fighter 5 over the weekend, following a disastrous initial beta in July. The game is also coming to Windows PC, and that version is set for release next spring.

[h=2]Capcom reveals Street Fighter 5's final launch character, FANG[/h][h=3]And the first six DLC characters too[/h]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cy1oO_OpuYA

Capcom unveiled the final launch character coming to Street Fighter 5 next year: FANG.
FANG, a totally new character whose name is an acronym, is part of the evil Shadaloo organization, producer Yoshinori Ono announced at PlayStation Experience 2015 today.

In addition, Ono confirmed the first six downloadable characters coming to Street Fighter 5 post-launch: Balrog and Guile from Street Fighter 2; Alex, Ibuki and Urien from Street Fighter 3; and Juri from Street Fighter 4. While those characters can be earned for free, Capcom will also sell a season pass for Street Fighter 5 for that first batch of DLC fighters. That season pass goes on sale today.

Salam PG Members,

Street fighter 5 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] beta is over and I would like to share my experience of playing this amazing upcoming game. As a diehard fan I always admire street fighter since my school days although I am not a very good player of it but I love to play with my friends and use to watch tournaments held time to time.

Overall SFV is an amazing installment of SF series especially for those who are very much into it, I missed 1[SUP]st[/SUP] & 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] beta because I pre-ordered late but I watched every exhibition of SFV on YouTube and learn a lot about it.

In this game all legacy characters have same moves but you can’t connect longer combos in it like USF4, for example couple of days before DIAGO beat MAMOCHI with 25 hit combo with Evil Ryu, but as SFV was built differently you can technically damage your opponent by mixing up your moves and for this you have to train harder before you get online or going to be a part of any tournament.

I was a RYU player before but after playing 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] beta I would say that I am not impressed by this character anymore as I found him slow rather than USF4 and also have changed some moves like long sweep with short & recovery time is not good after any connect but interesting thing is that option select are easier than USF4, all you have to do training & training.

I personally impressed by Rashid in this game which is brand new character in this game and I found him very fast in moves and connecting combos, also ken appearance is very admiring for me in this game and has improved combos.

Another character is Nash which impressed me a lot by his style of Super Combo and his connecting combos especially with V-Trigger and I am planning to make him as my primary character.

Other characters including Karin, Laura, Chunli, Dhalsim, Zehgeif, Vega etc are also good playable characters but didn’t have enough time to test them in details.
Here are some videos of Training mode for you guys.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 beta update reveals new alt costumes, including Officer Chun-Li[/h][h=3]New duds for the World Warriors[/h]

Capcom released an update for the ongoing Street Fighter 5 beta this week that secretly contained a fresh batch of previously unseen character costumes, including a long overdue police uniform for Interpol's Chun-Li, seen above.
Street Fighter 5 players managed to datamine those costumes from the updated beta files and eventually get them working in the game.

Other Street Fighter 5 characters also got new alternate costumes, players discovered, namely Bison, Cammy, Laura, Rainbow Mika, Rashid and Zangief. (Mika and Zangief are getting matching wrestling outfits, it seems.) You can see some of those costumes in action — including the previously revealed pre-order incentive costumes — in a gameplay video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6zfM8ZVjins

For a more detailed look at some of the still-unannounced costumes, check out this gallery on Imgur. The screenshots from Reddit user rkappasvoice show off Birdie, Cammy and Karin's new costumes (sadly, there appears to be no cure for Cammy's deadly allergy to pants).
And for a look at another new Street Fighter 5 costume that's getting a lot of attention, here's a high resolution gallery of Laura's new alt outfit, which borders ever-so-slightly on NSFW.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5's cinematic story mode arrives in June[/h][h=3]Four months after the game hits PC and PS4[/h]

Capcom will release an update for Street Fighter 5 this June that will introduce a first for the franchise: a cinematic story mode. That add-on content will be part of a free update, Capcom announced today.
Street Fighter 5 will launch with some story-driven, single-player content, however, in the form of individual character stories that detail their backgrounds and relationships. Those stories will feature illustrations from veteran Capcom artist Bengus (aka "Gouda Cheese"). A peek at some of those illustrations can be seen in the gallery below.
Capcom said in a release that players who complete the game's single-player content should be able to earn enough Fight Money — one of Street Fighter 5's in-game currencies — to purchase a new DLC character. The company plans to release the game's first post-launch content some time in March.
Finally, Street Fighter 5's final beta test period will run Jan. 30-31. The full game is slated to launch Feb. 16 on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5's first post-launch fighter is Alex, PS3 controllers supported on PS4[/h][h=3]The first of six confirmed DLC characters[/h]

The first addition to Street Fighter 5's roster will be Alex, who will be released in March, developer Capcom announced today.
Alex, who debuted in 1997's Street Fighter 3, was confirmed at PlayStation Experience 2015 as one of six post-launch fighters. Players will be able to earn those characters for free, but also have the option of paying for them. Capcom will sell the fighters individually for 600 Zenny, the in-game currency; that's the equivalent of about $6. The company is also offering a season pass for $29.99 that includes all six DLC characters: Alex, Ibuki, Urien, Balrog, Guile and Juri.

In addition, Capcom announced today that the PlayStation 4 version of Street Fighter 5 will support PlayStation 3 controllers. That's great news for fighting game fans who own older gamepads and fight sticks, especially since those specialized controllers can cost hundreds of dollars. It's also the first confirmation from Capcom of this feature; as recently as an interview published earlier this week, Street Fighter 5 producer Yoshinori Ono said he "[couldn't] really say anything for sure at the moment" beyond that the developers were "looking into it."
Capcom previously announced that the Windows PC version of Street Fighter 5 will support SteamOS as well as Valve's Steam Controller. When Capcom and Sony Computer Entertainment announced the game at PlayStation Experience 2014, the companies confirmed that it would allow for cross-platform play.
Street Fighter 5 is set to launch Feb. 16, one week from today, on PC and PS4. However, the game's cinematic story mode will not be released until June.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 receives SteamOS support this spring[/h][h=3]Putting that Steam Controller to use[/h]

Capcom will add SteamOS and Linux compatibility to Street Fighter 5 later this spring, it announced on the game's Steam community forum. A free update available to all Steam owners of the upcoming game will allow players to use Steam Controllers or play Street Fighter 5 on Steam Machines or other Linux-based hardware.
The company announced that it would add SteamOS functionality for the latest Street Fighter back in December. There's no specific date scheduled for the update's arrival beyond the spring release window.

When the game finally arrives later this week — tomorrow, Feb. 16, on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, in fact — it will come without either Steam Controller support or its cinematic story mode, a franchise first. The full Street Fighter 5 story mode will arrive in June, also a free update for players.
Check out our gallery of screens from the game to see more Street Fighter in action in advance of tomorrow's launch.

[h=2]Capcom says it's fixing Street Fighter 5's launch issues[/h][h=3]The game is a 'living and breathing platform'[/h]

Capcom released Street Fighter 5 on both PlayStation 4 and Windows PC yesterday, a launch accompanied by various server and other issues that the company say it's currently addressing. In a post to its Capcom Unity blog, the developer updated Street Fighter players on the status of a variety of problems experienced in both versions.
Online connectivity issues on both PS4 and PC editions of the new Street Fighter "should be less frequent" now that the game has launched across all regions, according to Capcom's update. The company also claims to have resolved problems with matchmaking, which were caused by a server error.

PC users experiencing crashes or problems with booting up Street Fighter 5 are advised to check their anti-virus software's setting, Capcom said. These issues could be caused by programs rejecting the executable file; the company recommended that PC players dealing with frequent crashes add the game to their anti-virus' exclusion list.
There's also a fix in the works for Fighter IDs becoming corrupted on the PC version of the game, Capcom said.
The company also acknowledged a variety of features desired by Street Fighter 5 players on PC. These include support for PS3 and PS4-compatible fight sticks, expanded key mapping and increased language options. Capcom stated that it is looking into these and other requested additions, which would arrive in future updates.
"Street Fighter 5 is a living and breathing platform that will continue to improve and evolve over time with more features and content," Capcom said. "With that being said, we'd like to assure you that we are always listening to your feedback," it added.
Also to arrive post-launch is Street Fighter 5's full story mode, a first for the series. That free update is slated for June. The game also has a $29.99 season pass that will add new fighters to the roster. SteamOS support is forthcoming later this spring, too.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 rage-quitters get punished as Capcom works on permanent fix[/h][h=3]Capcom believes it has identified the worst offenders abusing the system[/h]

Capcom has implemented a short-term penalty to punish rage-quitters in Street Fighter 5, which has been a problem since the game's launch on Feb. 16.
Capcom says it is identifying players with very high disconnect rates and very high win rates and sanctioning them in the Street Fighter 5 ranking system. About 30 have had League Points docked so far, Capcom said.

"Since last week, we've received a ton of videos ... which we've been able to cross reference with our data and put together a clear picture as to which players are abusing the system," a community manager wrote yesterday.
This is a problem because currently, a disconnected game doesn't show up as a win or a loss for either participant. Rage-quitters are thus able to keep their winning percentage artificially high by ditching a match once it's apparent they'll lose.
This penalty is a short-term approach only; Capcom said it is still investigating a permanent solution to discourage and sanction rage-quitting in Street Fighter 5.
"To be clear, we are only targeting the worst offenders in our system," the manager said. 'So if you have had a few instances of being disconnected during a match, you have nothing to worry about." Capcom considers a rage quitter to be someone with a disconnect rate between 80 and 90 percent.
Capcom added that it would have more to share about Street Fighter 5's March update with a "major news drop" in the coming week.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5's big March update detailed by Capcom — plus a first look at Alex[/h][h=3]First details on the return of Street Fighter 3's star[/h]

Two major updates are coming to Street Fighter 5 this month: the arrival of the game's first DLC fighter, Alex, and the addition of a host of long-awaited — and desperately needed — game features.
On the Capcom Unity blog, the publisher offers first details on how Alex will play, nearly 20 years after his debut in Street Fighter 3. Two decades on, Alex is still Power Bombing, according to Capcom:

In Street Fighter V, Alex returns as a powerful grappler that can inflict big damage with his close range Power Bomb command grab and his long limbs to fight from midrange distances. The threat doesn't end there however, as Alex has a variety of special attacks that can cover a large portion of the screen for those times when the opponent keeps him out. Players looking for a methodical grappler who can do big burst damage up close, yet still do well at midrange, will find themselves perfectly at home with Alex.
Alex's V-Skill is called Overhaul, and activating it makes him stretch, which powers up his next attack. Once Alex finishes his stretching animation, Capcom says, "the very next attack he pulls off will count as a hard hit and damage the opponent as if they were counter attacked. If that attack misses or is blocked however, he loses the hard hit bonus."
His V-Trigger move gives Alex a new move: a charged clothesline attack. Alex's Critical Art, a powerful chop-and-drop combo, sees him smash his opponent into the ground.
Alex is the first of six confirmed characters coming to Street Fighter 5 as downloadable content. He can be purchased with in-game Fight Money or with real-world cash.
March will also see an update that delivers Street Fighter 5's challenges, its in-game store and larger battle lounges, which are currently limited to just two players. Here are the details, from Capcom:

Challenge Mode
Demonstrations: Learn the ins and outs of Street Fighter V through helpful demonstration and tutorial content. Contains content for each of the 16 characters, as well as advice geared towards players of all skill levels:

  • Beginner Tutorials: 12 lessons covering, movement, normal attacks, special attacks, V-System, throws, counter hits, chip/recoverable damage, etc.
  • Intermediate Tutorials: 11 lessons covering projectiles, invincibility frames, armor and armor break, recovery, cross-up attacks, anti-air options, etc.
  • Advanced Tutorials: 4 lessons covering back dashing, frame advantage/disadvantage, combo potential, button priority, etc.
  • Character Tutorials: 16 lessons covering each individual character.
Trials: Put your skills to the ultimate test with combo trials for all 16 characters, ranging from basic to pro combos. Completing Trials will also earn you some extra Fight Money.
In-Game Shop
Fight Money Expenditure: Spend your hard earned Fight Money to purchase extra game content, such as DLC characters and the Story Mode Costumes.
Online Rematch Option
Salty from a close loss online? Want revenge? Players can now play a 2/3 set in Ranked Match, provided both players accept the rematch.
Battle Lounge Improvements
Enjoy up to 8 person lobbies, complete with match spectating.
Capcom also has some bug fixes and balance changes planned as part of the March update, which doesn't have a confirmed release date yet.

[h=2]Balrog and Ibuki come to Street Fighter 5 this week[/h][h=3]Trailer offers a glimpse of the last two DLC characters[/h]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AxK_BPwEa4s

Balrog joins Street Fighter 5 on Friday with the game's next update, Capcom has announced. The update also will bring Ibuki to the cast.
The trailer above also gives two glimpses of new characters Juri and Urien, who will come to the game later. Ibuki was announced for the game back in May but later was delayed until the latest update.

Ibuki and Balrog, who last appeared in Super Street Fighter 4, are the third and fourth DLC characters to join Street Fighter 5. All of these characters can be earned through gameplay in Street Fighter 5. A real-money option to purchase the characters will come to the game later this year.
Six characters in all will be offered as unlockables/premium DLC for Street Fighter 5, which launched Feb. 16 for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The first two were series mainstays Alex and Guile.
