Relax ladies, Capcom isn't stupid enough to keep this exclusive to just one platform. Like Tomb Raider, this one's simply a timed exclusive, though I'm surprised that PC wasn't skipped, unlike Tomb Raider, despite Microsoft owning both PC & Xbox markets.

Big news for sure and i guess it wont be a timed exclusive since sony practically bailed out capcom in return of their only title worth investing in. Crapcom has been in Financial distress for some years now and they kept on releasing different iterations for the same game with tweaks, buffs etc to keep the company afloat.

Personally iam happy that atleast we will be playing a larger pool of players from ps4 and pc aswell.

[h=2]Watch Street Fighter 5's first live gameplay and a 30-minute breakdown of its secrets[/h]

As promised, Capcom gave fighting game fans a first look at live Street Fighter 5 gameplay during this weekend's Capcom Cup. The six-minute match between Street Fighter stalwarts Ryu and Chun-li, while initially very familiar-looking, offers some interesting insight into how Capcom is changing things up. For an in-depth look you can explore the demo's secrets in a 30-minute analysis video.

Fighting game community members Mike Ross and Peter "Combofiend" Rosas matched up in this weekend's Street Fighter 5 exhibition, which was commentated by James Chen and David "Ultradavid" Philip Graham. As you can see in the video above, Chen and Graham didn't have a chance to preview Street Fighter 5 before the live demo, so they're analyzing it on the fly.

Some of the changes coming in Street Fighter 5 appear obvious; Ryu and Chun-li show off a power stance that burns EX meter and modifies certain attacks. They also have some new moves, both in the standard attack and special move department. There's also the new Revenge meter, the bar that powers returning Ultra Combos.

But the rules that govern those new additions may not be immediately clear if you're watching the gameplay in real-time. Fortunately, Joe Ciaramelli offers a handy breakdown of what's happening in the Street Fighter 5 demonstration, revealing some intriguing subtleties while rewinding and reviewing the match frame-by-frame.

Watch Ciaramelli's 30-minute match analysis below, which explains how things like chip damage, EX stances, blocking and more might work in Street Fighter 5.

Capcom and Sony Computer Entertainment announced Street Fighter 5 at last week's PlayStation Experience. The game is exclusive to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, and features cross-platform play.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 being developed in Unreal Engine 4[/h]

Street Fighter 5 is in development in Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4, the company announced today.

"Our goal with the next generation of Street Fighter is to take our beloved fighting game franchise and bring it to our fans in the best way possible," said Bochan Kim, producer at Capcom, in a press release from Epic. "In order to fully deliver on that promise, we know we have to incorporate the latest and greatest technology available, which is why we partnered with Epic Games to power Street Fighter V using Unreal Engine 4."

"This opportunity to help the development team using Unreal Engine 4 for the new title is a great honor for Epic, and I couldn't be more proud," said Taka Kawasaki, territory manager of Epic Games Japan. "Support staff" from both Epic Games Japan and Epic's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, are helping Capcom get the most out of the engine, according to Kawasaki.

Street Fighter 4, the previous entry in the storied franchise, was developed by Capcom and Dimps in a custom engine. Today's news makes Street Fighter the second major Japanese fighting game franchise to move to Unreal Engine 4. Bandai Namco announced Tekken 7 in July, and said it is being powered by Unreal Engine 4.

Capcom unveiled Street Fighter 5 during PlayStation Experience earlier this month. The upcoming game is in development on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, and will support cross-platform play. Sony officials confirmed that this original iteration of Street Fighter 5 will not appear on any console besides PS4. For more, check out the first gameplay footage from the game,

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 online beta coming to PC and PS4[/h]

Capcom will run an online beta for Street Fighter 5 on both PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, the company announced today.

Billed as "the largest and most ambitious online beta program in franchise history," it will allow the developers to receive feedback from fans on character balance and other elements of Street Fighter 5. Pre-order customers in North America will automatically receive beta access. Capcom didn't announce any release window for the beta, or plans for entry into the beta for people who don't pre-order Street Fighter 5, but said to "stay tuned for updates."

Along with the beta news, Capcom released a trailer and screenshots for Charlie Nash, the latest character to be added to the Street Fighter 5 roster. The company announced Nash would be featured in the game in December at the 2014 Capcom Cup. Generally known as Nash in Japan and Charlie in the West, the fighter debuted in 1995's Street Fighter Alpha. Nash's first mention in Street Fighter lore came in the original Street Fighter 2: Guile enters the tournament to avenge the death of his best friend, Nash, who had apparently been killed by M. Bison's forces.

But it turns out Nash is alive and well in Street Fighter 5, firing off Sonic Booms in the trailer above. You can also check out nine screenshots of Nash below. Street Fighter 5 is in development on PC and PS4, with no release window at the moment.

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 coming in spring 2016, says Capcom blog[/h]

Yesterday the Capcom-Unity blog offhandedly mentioned Street Fighter 5 would launch in spring 2016, in a post announcing a couple of Street Fighter t-shirts. This is news to Street Fighter fans, who so far hadn't been given any kind of a release window for the next edition of the franchise.

The post was a listing of all the merchandise Capcom is bringing to PAX East 2015, underway now in Boston. "Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter V coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring," the listing reads.

Polygon has reached out to a Capcom representative to ask if this mention is erroneous, inadvertent, or advertent. We'll update if they reply.

Street Fighter 5 will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The latest news on the franchise is that Capcom will run an online beta for the game at some point, providing access for all who pre-order the game.

"One comment we see a lot is that something like a Super Street Fighter 5 is going to come out on Xbox," said the representative. "But the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run."

Can the ladies panic now? :p

[h=2]Street Fighter 5 adds Birdie, Cammy and a beta[/h]

On stage moments ago during Sony’s E3 press conference, Capcom revealed two more fighters and a beta program for Street Fighter 5.
The new characters are Cammy, who has been a longstanding cast member, and Birdie, who last appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and is one of a handful of characters who also appeared in the original Street Fighter.

Polygon recently tried out Cammy and Birdie at a pre-E3 press event, and found Cammy similar to her previous versions — very fast, with short range attacks — while Birdie now has longer range than he did in Alpha 3 and uses his chains to help him cover more of the screen.
According to Capcom Director of Marketing Matt Dahlgren, the game’s beta will be open to anyone who pre-orders, and will run in three phases on PlayStation 4. The first will last for five days starting July 23, with the other two to be announced later. Dahlgren says PC players will also be able to test the game before release, but Capcom has yet to announce specifics on how that will roll out.
Additionally, Dahlgren announced that Capcom plans to ship the game in Spring 2016. For more on Street Fighter 5, check out Polygon’s recent preview

[h=2]New fixes out today for Ultra Street Fighter 4 on PS4[/h]

The PlayStation 4 version of Ultra Street Fighter 4 was released in May with numerous bugs and issues, which Sony's Third Party Production Group and Capcom have been seeking to fix ever since.
The latest update rolled out today, offering multiple fixes and tweaks. Interestingly, the harmless-seeming invitation for players to "Press Start" has been replaced. "'Press Start' isn't a bug," explains Sony. "it was originally left in intentionally as a tribute to Street Fighter 4's arcade roots, but due to players' requests, we have changed it to 'Press Options.'"

Such was the scale of the problems at launch, that the organizers of the Evo Championship Series in June opted to only use the Xbox 360 version of the game.
The full list, as detailed by the PlayStation Blog, is as follows:

  • "Skip" function mapped to Cross button during cinematics
  • Default character costume colors 11 & 12 are now unlocked
  • Anisotropic filtering improved on all stages and characters
  • Antialiasing added on all stages and characters
  • Reduced pixilation on various UI elements
  • Multiple audio balancing fixes
  • Addressed multi-hit audio issues
  • Increased resolution of visual effects
  • Sonic Boom graphical fix
  • Fixed multiple localization and font issues
  • Improved save functionality performance
  • "Press Start" replaced with "Press Options"*

[h=2]Six fighters, three stages playable in Street Fighter 5's upcoming beta[/h]

Six characters will be playable in the PlayStation 4-only Street Fighter 5 online multiplayer beta kicking off July 23, Capcom said today in outlining features and details of the five-day beta.
Four of those fighters will be available immediately, with Cammy and Birdie joining on July 25. Capcom said it's holding those two characters back in order to test the game's content delivery system.

There will be no local multiplayer during the beta, Capcom reminded, saying that the purpose of the beta is to test online functions.
Online matchmaking will be a little different as well. Players will choose a fighter from the character select screen, then advance to a training mode before getting paired up to fight on one of three stages — Bustling Side Street, Terminal Station, or Forgotten Waterfall, which is new to the game.
The multiplayer is online only, not local
Anyone preordering Street Fighter 5 in North America and Latin America gets guaranteed access to the beta. Preorders are being taken from a variety of retailers in the U.S. and Canada, and through PlayStation Network in both regions.
In Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, Asia and Japan, users must sign up or apply for beta acccess either by visiting a website or downloading a beta test ticket. There are more details at the link for how to enroll.

This is the first of three phases for the PS4 beta. No details have been announced for the PC beta Capcom has promised.

Street Fighter V - Ken Trailer | PS4 - PlayIt.pk

V-Skill: Quick Step

Ken runs towards the opponent, closing the distance in an instant. Ken can also choose to step kick or input another attack closer to the end of his run!

V-Trigger: Heat Rush

Ken channels flames through his entire body for a short period of time, which powers up his special attacks by increasing their number of hits and improving their trajectory, allowing him to perform even more damaging combos.

[h=2]Ken is coming to Street Fighter 5, will play less like Ryu[/h]
Veteran street fighter Ken Masters is coming to Street Fighter 5, Capcom confirmed at its San Diego Comic-Con panel today. The fighter will play less like his shotokan counterpart Ryu than ever before, Capcom said after revealing the fighting game's latest character.
Ken won't wear his familiar red gi in Street Fighter 5, making him look more distinct from Ryu in the sequel. Though he still has his trademark shoryuken, Ken's moves have also been switched up to help differentiate him further.

Capcom said Ken will be more aggressive and "in your face," as well as "a bit more stylish." Ken's V-trigger move is named Heat Rush and will improve all of his special attacks. His V-skill, Quick Step, lets him run at his opponent and quickly close any distance between them.
Ken will be playable at San Diego Comic-Con in Capcom's booth for the first time.
Street Fighter 5 will be released spring 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.

I'm a big fan of the complete overhaul of his moveset, not a fan of the hairstyle but overall a good design change.

Now just waiting for Urien and Alex to show up.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
