I have signed up for the new connection of StormFiber in Karachi.
It's been more than 7 working days in my case and still not installed.

What is the usual response time for their installation?

And how is it? What's your feedback? Custom DNS on the router - is it possible or not? Slowdowns? Pings? Routing? What about their TV?
Well the TV is definitely better as opposed to PTCL. Overall the connection hasn't gone down once so far which is a good sign. Installation time is upwards of 15 days which is tiresome. As for the router wasn't able to access it with the given credentials, haven't gotten around to talking to support due to hectic routine. Slow downs i'd say once so far and pings are average nothing extra ordinary, they were better when I was using Nayatel.

Can I ask what made you switch from Nayatel?

And regarding pings - how much better was Nayatel?

I bought static ip addon from stormfiber for portforwarding which I needed it to accees my home media server from outside my network via nginx reverse proxy but turns out they are blocking incoming port 80 and 443 and also ftp and ssh.

After mailing helpdesk and convincing them that I am not hosting any website or using voip they opened port 80 but still not sure about 443
Are you using Plex?

Stormfiber users can you tell:
- Your Ping in CSGO
- Download cap?
- TV compared to PTCL smart TV?

I am using PTCL's 50 Mbps and I have literally zero complaints. Customer service is 10/10 and disconnections are a rarity.

Can anybody give me some information regarding the TV and Phone services? Currently using PTCL for phone and I pay around 400 per month and 350 for cable (TV) service which is provided by a local isp dealer. All this together with my dreamnet 10mbps connection which is around 1750 cost me 2500 RS where as stormfiber is giving Internet+TV+Phone for around 2k which is much lower.

Actually I shifted from my old place, Nayatel wasn't available where I currently reside. I'd say Nayatel was around 10-15% more stable. However, I have yet to put it under a long term test to form a definite opinion.

Karachi.
Stormfiber ki itni trash service kasam say. Applied for connection on 23rd July. Was told it would be connected before 1st August. Talked to them on 1st August, was told it would be installed b/w 3~5 August. Called on 5th August, was told between 7~9 August. Called yesterday (9th August), was told today before 2 PM. Now being told that "today evening" will be the day.

In between, talked to a guy I found through LinkedIn (Zonal Manager Field Operations). He told me that new connections are not being installed right now due to high amount of corrective maintenance on current connections, and whatever I am being told by my StormFiber marketing contact is incorrect.

Just applied for a refund. I waited since 2019 for this service to arrive in my area. It arrived in early 2021. What a shit service dude.

Their marketing team is made up of a bunch of clueless wankers. Let this be a lesson to all that StormFiber service is going down the drain each passing day. It used to work pretty well in my office (20 Mbps U/D). But recently at night time the connection feels congested. I figured what the heck, it is still better than my PTCL at home, but apparently not...

@Shary Bhallu TC Well at Bahawalpur they recently launched their services I applied on 1st and connection installed on 5th so far so good only once their connector went wrong but was fixed the same day .. probably because I helped them get 3 more connections.

So - in this thread, it appears SF is having major issues in Karachi as far as customer service is concerned, but not in the other cities?

Service-wise, I know a few Karachiites who are contended with SF. I don't have it (no coverage where I live) but I've been wanting to get rid of PTCL (I have fiber) because of their billing/customer support/other ticks/crap TV.

Trouble is, Pakistan Package is the reason people are hooked onto PTCL - it just doesn't make sense to use another landline service given most connections belong to PTCL.

2 of my friends using stormfiber in Karachi near seaview and both are very happy aswell. I believe now they are focussing on other cities as recently they launched in Bahawalpur, Sahiwal etc etc.

Ptcl over here at BWP was still operating at copper so I was using some internet provided by our cable network it was 100 times better thn ptcl as it was on fiber but problem was when there was load shedding it went out with it.

So stormfiber came by choti eid and rapidly expanded to half of the city by bari eid which was impressive, as per promo i have to pay 3000 for first 2 months and then 2650 onwards no installation fee its been 6 days and connection is solid no complaints.

I think as there is no installation fee of amy kind they provided fiberhome box instead of huawei plus cable is ok as I didnt opted for hd box.

Karachi.
So received call from field guy today for installation. He said he is coming in 10~15 minutes.

After 1.5 hours, I called back. He told me that main (access) wire is not available in your street. WTF. Toh mera area listed kyun hay website per aur marketing department ki taraf say confirmation call kyun ayee thee 19 din pehlay?!?!?!?!

Field guy is saying he will let me know when it can be installed as first the main wire will have to be installed in the street.

Kya pathetic service hay kasam say yar. :/

Well - in Islamabad, Nayatel mentions if they have full coverage or partial coverage for this reason, but sometimes, they may have "full" written on the website but the infrastructure isn't in that particular nook or cranny. Hell, even cellular operators have coverage maps (abroad) that aren't 100% accurate.

So - chill. Just know that fiber deployment isn't cheap, and if you have another provider, check them out. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait. Not really anything else you can do, is there?

Sir their service varies with area.
I filled their form online. Within 5 minutes I got call from my city's Stormfiber office. They came in half hour to collect the money. The next day was Sunday. They came at 10:00 AM on a Sunday to install the connection! It took 0 working days to install it xD

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
