Been getting random packet loss and ping spikes in discord VC and saving failed in GTA Online for quite some time now, a month I think. Is this happening for anyone else as well? Also +1 for Stormfiber whatsapp group

I went to a shop the other day with free wifi and they had Stormfiber (because Cybernet was the ISP name in the speedtest app) - but I couldn't get Telegram to work. Can you guys check if Telegram works (without a proxy or VPN)?

Not working on default storm dns, working fine on cloudflare.

That's good to know. Can you check if the voice chatting features work as well on a different DNS server as well, or do those not work at all?

Got my connection live yesterday and was amazed to see that new ont modem(HG6244C) customer can only access user level setting not admin level like ptcl.

I can not even change my Lan ip.
No USB setting.
No DHCP and nothing

Only thing one can change is wifi password.

Calls are working fine.
Thanks. I wonder if you are a member of a telegram group and can enable voice calling therein - I know 1:1 calls on Mobilink work, but group (audio) calls don't. Haven't tried video in any form.

And final test (for now) - are you able to access nordvpn.com? Does it load, or does it stall during loading?

I received an email that they are upgrading the infrastructure in Johar Town and they need to replace my ONT from Huawei to some Fiber Home ONT. I never heard of this brand tho.
Getting no internet access and they said it'll be resolved once our team replaces the ONT.

Well... do you have a choice to say no? If you'd like to stick with them, get the new ONT (make sure you don't pay cause... why should you? It's not your fault). Otherwise switch over to another company in your area.

Speaking of which, what FTTH alternatives do you have in your area, and in Karachi in general? I know there's PTCL and SF... and Transworld... and that's it?

I don't think they asked me to pay for it. It's in Lahore and last time I checked there were no alternatives in my area other than Fiber Link which is horrible from what I know and PTCL may have started their FTTH. I don't use it since I'm not in Pakistan anymore.

I'm also facing massive packet loss in online games since a month ago. Btw, something else happened in this month for me and other users that use stormfiber in quetta. The WAN IP changed from 202.47.xx.xx range to 72.255.x.x and the configuration for the WAN PPPoE on the router is different with a local ip address of 10.42.xx.xx which shows up as 72.255.xx.xx range in web browsers when you search for your own ip address on the internet. Due to this, i cannot port forward and host my own servers at all. They dont show up on the internet no matter what i try. For example, i want to host a local cs 1.6 server and i want other friends to join it and give them my server ip with the relevant port number but they cannot join. It used to work before but after this change it does not anymore, no matter if i disable router firewall, windows firewall, DMZ etc.

EDIT: I learned that cybernet backed isps implemented CGN, i don't know if other isps also did this or not. Here is the email i got from them:

Dear Customer,
With reference to your email, this is to inform you that currently you belong to our private Natted Network means multiple customers are Natted on a single public Static IP, StormFiber offers consumer Internet services with the implementation of CGN (Carrier Grade NAT) scenario, for Internet surfing which cannot fulfill your requirements of such real-time application like Port forwarding, etc.

Further, you can Opt Static IP by logging into your online customer portal. Please login to the portal my.stormfiber.com with your registered cell number or email ID, if you forget the password there is an option to reset it.

For any further question, concern or suggestion for service improvement please let us know by contacting at [City Code] 111-1-(STORM) 78676.

This means that you cannot port forward anymore, cannot host your own dedicated game servers, services like parsec/rainway wont work, i also played fightcade and that also does not work now. Real shame that this had to happen =(.
