using Stormfiber for the past 3 years in Karachi. Now there services seem to be really bad. Fiber disconnection issues every 2 months and so. Recently i again lodged a complaint against them and it has been four days the issue has still not been resolved. To add further the team did visit my home on June 06, but could not figure what wrong and instead of fixing the issue the team member actually said "Dua karo baarish ho jai takay hum chalay jai". Till now no team has visited and fixed my issue.

I am Considering changing from them now and wanted to know if Transworld is any good.? Anyone using their services can guide me?
I live in Karachi too. Transworld is even worse. Their customer support is shit. I had Transworld for 15 days. It worked for 3 days only. It was down twice so I terminated my connection. They guy who came said, “Yahan sab kamchor hain”.

I am in dha phase 5 khi, is stormfibre worth it? currently on optix, and it has been absolutely shit. Phones always show will connect when network quality improves, and it only works like 30% of the time.

Karachi.
Stormfiber 10 Mbps works amazingly in DHA Phase 2 (<2 Km from Khadda Market). I am sure you'd be fine in Phase 5.

My pings to Dubai are ~45ms, India are ~75ms and SEA are ~90ms. Speed is very consistent.

Does anyone here who plays Rainbow 6 on Stormfiber has voice chat issues? My voice chat has not been working for a couple of weeks and only works if I connect through a VPN.

Port 80 and 443 can never be blocked because they're used for HTTP traffic. I'm sure the voice communications are on another port.

Since it's working with a VPN, that means SF is (possibly) doing something.

I contacted Stormfiber again and this was their reply:-

"With reference to your email, this is to inform you that if you are using VOIP/SIP services, it is considered as grey traffic and comes under PTA strong monitoring. In the recent past, PTA has setup Web Monitoring System (WMS) to curtail grey traffic. Strict actions have been taken at their end to control the concealed transmission of VOIP/VC/VPN.

StormFiber offers consumer internet services and does not provide any support or services related to VOIP/VC/VPN as it comes under enterprise solutions. Also as explained above that PTA monitors and blocks the source IP that is carrying such traffic and requires whitelisted IP with licensing documents. We don’t have any IP whitelisting mechanism being consumer service provider in nature."

Is there any way to contact PTA and get this issue fixed?

Is there any way of checking if Stormfiber is using Transworld to connect to the server?

The other day, I was trying to connect to a PPTP VPN via Jazz and Zong (both who were using Transworld to route the traffic) and it wouldn't connect. When I did it over PTCL, it worked.

There are some websites/serices which TW blocks for no reason... so it's worth checking this theory out.

Static ip is available now, anyone can apply for it from portal. SF also launching IPv6 at the end of this year on trial basis to limited user.

Hi,

My StormFiber Connection has been installed and will become Active Tomorrow anytime. I opted for the highest speed which is 15-30Mb (Day and Night cycle 12 hourly).

I shifted from Transworld Fiber optic so I have a great benchmark for Stormfiber and the first thing I want to do is to Ping eu.battle.net which is the StarCraft II or blizzard server to find out the efficiency of my connection. The next thing would be speedtest , ping test etc.

I think it would be Great. There modem is really cool with a router and everything in a single box.

I can help you with any queries you have. Do post them and I will try to answer them .

Have a good day.
Their WIFI speed is not good. If you want to experience internet at high speed then prefer to use it on Lan on PC or install a 5GHZ External router with StormFiber OLT Modem.

10.253.4.16 - this is their internal IP and its also showing high ping and packet loss throughout the day espically from 3PM-1AM. Clearly an issue within their network, but when I call them they tell me that it could be a server side issue.

If you call them and tell them that it's an internal IP and they still don't budge, get their email address and email it to them. But make sure you explain the issue like you're explaining to a 5-year old - keep it simple, but drop in some technical words in between so that they know you're not a kid.

That's how I treat PTCL.

I got a callback from their technical team and they finally admitted that the service fault is on their end and they are working on it so hopefully they get this fixed asap.

Get a Nokia if you want continued updates...even my Nokia 2.2 has Android 10 but my S8+ doesn’t lol

In that case, I should probably avoid the Mi Note 10 Lite, its older than the other two. Barely any good phones in 60K that isn't samsung. A71 is a good deal too but that is a year old as well.

That's a good point. Realme 7 Pro has a AMOLED display, which is why its attractive though I've no idea about Realmes software support unlike Xiaomi.
Yeah, these phones often have attractive features and seem like great value (most of them are) upfront, but if you want continued software updates so the phone lasts long, most of them don't live up to that promise.

easier way to narrow down is buying based on software support. If the phones aren't confirmed to get Android updates, I personally think they should be avoided.
