Tomb Raider, Deus Ex Developers Making an Avengers Game
Square Enix and Marvel have announced a "multi-game partnership", starting with an Avengers game made by Tomb Raider developer, Crystal Dynamics and Deus Ex developer Eidos Montreal.
Marvel Entertainment Senior Vice President, Games & Innovation Jay Ong accompanied the press release with a comment.“The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.”
Square Enix Americas and Europe CEO Phil Rogers also commented, promising to establish a “new entertainment powerhouse,” and to provide gamers with “epic, imaginative experiences.”“By partnering with Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal, we are now working with two of the industry’s most talented and respected game development studios to bring Marvel stories to life in ways our fans have never experienced. The Avengers project is a perfect example of how Marvel is making games a key part of the landscape for Marvel storytelling, alongside comics, television and film. We can only do this by matching our greatest Super Heroes with the world’s top developers, such as the creative minds at Square Enix.”
“Marvel’s diverse, innovative universe has created millions of longtime fans, including all of us. It’s exciting to bring together Square Enix’s award-winning development studios with Marvel’s extraordinary storytellers to establish a new entertainment powerhouse. This collaboration of passion and talent will craft epic, imaginative experiences allowing gamers to live out their Super Hero dreams like never before.”
o yes, its not just one game, i think whole series of games r gonna come out covering whole of marvel universe
lets hope its not like the Injustice: gods among us
Well don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Injustice, but marvel should not do same style game like Injustice. It will be a massive undertaking if they make character based games like Destiny or even better if they do something like Tomb Raider ...whats wrong with injustice ? its a fighting game and good at it... injustice 2 coming in W00T W00T

>Cutting to the short of it: "The Avengers Project" is Avengers: Ultimate Alliance. But it's not just Ultimate Alliance 3, it's a full reboot with the name on it (think something like the new God of War, minus the story continuity: similar name, totally new gameplay/story structure). That's the reason why the tagline of the first teaser was "Reassemble", to hint at it being a reboot. This is also why the previous Ultimate Alliance games got uprezed recently for current-gen.
>The game takes place from the perspective of multiple Avengers after a cataclysmic incident broke the team apart (think more Dissassembled than Civil War), but there are 3 which are the core focus: Captain America, Iron Man, and Scarlet Witch (who you heard in the trailer). They aren't the ONLY playable characters, but they are the leads of the story. Gameplay wise think a mix between Uncharted and Infamous.
>It'll also have connections putting it in both the same world as the PS4 Spider-Man game (that Sanctum Sanctorum appearance in still images was not just for fun), as well as Eidos Montreal's Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel Games wants in on that shared universe idea that have made the films literal billions of dollars.
So you're saying this Ultimate Alliance thing is true ?we had crystal dynamic guys here for some presentations...they have been working with eidos for last two years on this and alot of progress has been made...most of the visual aspect is locked in, the problem they are facing currently is the storyline/universe and basically just fitting the production schedule, as both the studios are working on other projects simultaneously
all these "leaks" I have been providing are just for your pleasure only - also I just know about the production issues they were facing and how 50% of this game's art has actually been outsourced by both CD and Eidos - dont remember the exact nameSo you're saying this Ultimate Alliance thing is true ?

CD + Eidos Montreal ( game core and levels are divided between them) and alot of art and modeling work is outsourced.. Square Enix is just putting its branding and publishing power behind it..so they have no part in actual developmentI played the Ultimate Alliance games way back on the PS2, they were fun for their time but it sounds a little weird that a big publisher like SE is revitalizing that old top-down genre. I was half expecting this to be more of a traditional TPS kinda game.
Do we know if CD are doing all the development themselves or partnering with another studio ?
