The only thing Sony hasn't done is to officially announce Spider-Man to have a next-gen upgrade for current owners, separately.

Rather they sneakily attached the game with MM with all the upgrades.

If someone does point a finger at Sony, they'll just feign ignorance and stick to their point that they didn't announce any upgrade plan for current owners. They can still be called out for their shadow-y tactics which they are playing.

All this information just released a few hours ago, we didn't even know that there would be PS4 versions of some of these games yesterday, so let's give them a little bit of time to get their news and order and announce what the complete remaster plans are for people who already own the base game.

once we know whether they're even going to allow PS4 owners to get a free upgrade for the base Spider-Man game, then we can begin the outrage in earnest

Lol information being released a few hours ago has nothing to do with the company who already knew about its plans. They announced it BECAUSE they had plans, they didn't just announce it on a whim.

Owning Spider-Man with all its DLCs or also the GoTY edition, getting the MM UE just means double dipping just because you need those next-gen upgrades. I've already got the Special Edition of the game on launch, got the season pass for DLCs, I've already spent close to $90+ on the game already, asking a current owner to pay up for upgrades when you already have plans to launch the remaster with upgrades, is just...anti-consumer? But then again, they're not forcing me to get it, the same way 505 Games/Remedy are also not forcing me to get the UE of I don't want to. Oh well

And besides, Sony quite probably already hinted that Spider-Man may come to PS5, that SSD loading times showcase during that event.

I don't see why traversal that fast will be a part of the game, it doesn't look functional at all. The above demo was clearly just an SSD load test.

The only use case I can see something like that being in game is that when you fast travel, the camera zips and zoops past everything on the PS5 and does a traditional blank screen load on the PS4.

Not that fast, but Spiderman isn't as fast as he's meant to be in the PS4 game. Insomniac has stated that they'd have liked for traversal to be faster than it is on PS4.
