Sony Xperia XZ Premium (Chrome) - Bezels are still around

Got bored of Samsung, sold the Note 8 to [MENTION=9504]mental[/MENTION]

Got this instead, thought might as well give Sony a try again since they've decided to re-launch in Pakistan. The warranty is from a company called Inovi, which is the official partner of Huawei and Sony (and Dell apparently).

It was delivered around an hour ago, in the colour that I DID NOT order, but the moron who delivered it said 'Sony walay black XZ Premium nahi bhejtay' and after hearing that, I just didn't want to argue any further, so I took the phone and reluctantly paid for it.

Unboxing was boring as shit, nothing unusual, I'm not sure if the place I got it from or Sony themselves decided to include a screen protector and a case with it, but that was kinda nice of them. The box includes a QC 3.0 wall adapter and MH750 Sony earphones.

And yes yes, I know what everyone is thinking, it's 2017, why does it still have bezels? Well, stereo speakers..... and Sony's designers are really fond of the photocopier they have.
I'm a bit annoyed that it's not the black one, but the chrome one is just as nice (gotta keep telling myself that).

EXCELLENT phone, waaaaay better than over rated samsung (any). However I do not like this color, but that is not everything, you can put a dbrand skin.

I am not a huge fan of the colour either. Will take some time to get used to. But I agree though, this is very underrated.
Unfortunately dbrand skins aren't available for the XZP yet, will have to get a more generic looking one from Amazon to try and make this a little less shiny.

Why do I always get reminded of the old xperia c sony models whenever I look at this phone though. Even the UI feels alot same.

The Note 8 had the greatest display I've ever seen on a smartphone, shits all over anything else. There were a few Samsung specific things I really liked on that phone and was very used to, but a change every now and then is always good. Dual-camera although mostly gimmicky, was cool sometimes, especially in well-lit conditions that extra lens would really help.

Battery life, too early to say. The Xperia has been pretty good so far, but halfway through today's cycle, I changed the display resolution to full-time 4K (it's 1080p otherwise). Let's see what sort of affect that has on the battery life.

UI is very snappy, Sony feels quicker than the Note 8 even though the Note 8 has 6GB of RAM and this has 4. You get reminded of old models because Sony hasn't changed their UI in ages, deep down, in some areas, like their custom icons, nothing has changed and it's the same as those 2013 Xperia phones UI, however performance and optimization difference is night and day.

I'll post a more in-depth mini review on the weekend.

The UI and also the Chasis/body looks like same to me of almost all Sony Xperia Phones.

Gotta be honest, I used to think it was a gimmick, but now that I don't have it, I really really miss OIS on the camera. This sucks in low light unless you have really stable hands or a tripod.

In well lit conditions, I'll take some shots today and see how they compare to the ones taken with the Note 8.

Certain models are very over priced, always had a soft spot for Sony but the prices are no where close to Dubai prices which is not true for other brands which do come very close to Dubai prices.

My phone wala had the guys working at his shop pick it up from another shop since he himself didn't have it, and the guy came on a bike and dropped it off.

UI is speed is slightly better than the Note 8, Sony managed to outperform the Note 8 which even has 2 extra gigs of RAM. However, I prefer how TouchWiz looks compared to Sony's slightly modified from stock Android skin.
Battery life is just as good, or slightly better since the display on this is smaller and I've set it back to 1080p since it was acting a bit weird when set to full-time 4K.

How about LG v30 ? Is it available anywhere in Pakistan ? I heard that it is better option than note 8. Anyone had experience using v30 yet ?
