The company has already announced the dates and location of the next PlayStation Experience convention. The fan event is coming to the Anaheim Convention Center in California, USA, from December 9 to December 10.

Last year's event brought with it a bunch of new trailers, gameplay, and even new game announcements. Here's hoping this year's one is just as exciting.

SONY BRINGING PLAYSTATION COLLECTIBLE CARDS BACK FOR PSX 2017


This year's series, Series Three, will begin with card #77 and contain about three dozen all new cards. The Bronze Trophy card will be included in the gift bag for every attendee, while other cards must be obtained by visiting various locations around the venue.

The foil embossed cards, which were first introduced at the 2015 PlayStation Experience, feature pictures of various video game characters, gaming cover art, and PlayStation Trophies.

To assist in your card collecting, PlayStation will be providing hints and info via the Experience PlayStation app. Some cards will be obtained by visiting a booth, while others will require you to play a demo. More details will be revealed once the show starts, but you can read the Series Three announcement over on the PlayStation Blog.​

Multiple industry insiders have confirmed they pushed some of the announcements from PSX to this event (eg the Sucker Punch new game reveal) to counter the Xbox X launch hype with actual new games (since the XBX doesn't exactly have any new games .. )

At best, maybe more game play trailers and release dates for some games like Days Gone.

In addition, we’ll be featuring a new slate of panels that reveal more developer insights into some of the biggest announcements coming out of Paris Games Week and beyond.

We’re still finalizing the full list of participating developers, but you can count on some of Worldwide Studios’ biggest and brightest making an appearance, including Sucker Punch Productions, Media Molecule, and more. Want to learn more about Ghost of Tsushima and Dreams? Then PSX is where you need to be.

This year, we’ve expanded the overall show floor space by about 50% to accommodate all these new activities, which will also include new competition areas for GT Sport, a larger PlayStation Gear Store with merchandise unavailable online and more.

We’ll have many more details to share in the following weeks, including more info on developer panels, autograph signings, merchandise updates, Capcom Cup, other activities and more.

I don't even know what you're trying to say here..

We have known this will be a scaled down event weeks in advance, they were clear that all they'll have is panel with developers and hands-on for people who attend.

We got all the announcements at the Paris event.

Surely you're joking. Sony's Paris week presser was arguably bigger and better than their E3 conference. Not every announcement was a AAA 50 million dollar game, but then what was so good at this year's E3 ?

E3 has become increasingly irrelevant with the way these private shows are going for the last couple of years. PSX this year was a let down only if you were completely tuned out of the news. Sony pretty much moved all game announcements to Paris and said a month ago not to expect any new announcements at the event.
