Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS As far as all the leaks are concerned I’ve looked into it and done my homework and 9.2TF of next generation architecture is of the same equivalent of 12TF of this generation architecture because they are roughly 25% more efficient and that is a 100% verified (FACT)So that would actually make the PS5 if 9.2TF also twice as powerful as the Xbox One X. Which is where these 12TF Xbox series X numbers actually came from. All Microsoft have ever said is that the Xbox series X will be twice as powerful as the Xbox One X, they have never said 12TF EVER again a (FACT)On top of that It isn’t (ACTUALLY) confirmed that the XBOX Series X is more powerful than the PlayStation 5 (OVERALL) the current leeks only suggest the GPU is more powerful. But what people aren’t realising is that the XBOX Series X GPU will also have to deal with ray tracing which will take anything up to 35% of its power to do so. (DEPENDING ON DEVELOPERS USAGE)However according to the same leeks the PlayStation 5 has a separate way of dealing with ray tracing outside of the GPU so developers will not need to draw power from the main GPU when adding ray tracing and that may give the PlayStation 5 the edge in graphical power overall. (WE JUST DON’T KNOW ENOUGH YET)We also know PlayStation 5 will have 3-D audio technology at a hardware level as well; Yet that is not something confirmed in the XBOX serious X. Plus there is a big possibility that the PlayStation 5 may have a superior custom built SSD and the XBOX Series X may only be using a standard SSD; which would also make a significant difference, but the PlayStation 5 would then have an advantage. (. (AGAIN WE JUST DON’T KNOW ENOUGH YET)So people need to stop saying there is this massive 3TF power difference because that is unlikely to be true and a lot of people are going to be very disappointed. (copied)
Just twice the power of Xbox one X isn't really that appealing.

XBSX confirmed twice as powerful as XBX and 4x as powerful as base XBO by MS themselves.

The real kicker will be if there's going to be a 2nd 4 TF Xbox console, that will be kinda bad and really limit developers who want to make full use of these next gen consoles.

Not at all. Those who want to make use of the extra power can still do so and scale back for the "4TF" console. Games built for the Xbox One won't be fundamentally any different by design than if they were only built for the Xbox One X.

This is assuming 'all games on Anaconda will be 4K' and '1080p on Lockheart'. But what if someone is making a game that negates lower than native resolutions on the 12 TF console, if that kind of a game needs to be fundamentally designed with a 3 times less powerful console in mind .. you see what I'm saying right ?

Then you'd get something like Gears 5 or Forza Horizon 4? OG Xbox is ~1.3 tflops and One X is ~6 tflops. Thats a bigger difference than Series X and Lockheart. Fundamentally the games won't be limited. Resolutions, frame rate and effects just like you see in current gen games. Games on the "4TF" console will be fundamentally more advanced than Xbox One X, no?

2 years into this generation everyone was talking about how the XBO was holding back games, which became even more of a talking point after Pro and X came out. I imagine the talking points will be more or less the same.

But they haven't even officially announced a Lockheart console yet, wonder if it's even a real thing anymore.

People also talked about how base consoles were an afterthought based on the poor performance compared to enhanced consoles. But fundamentally the games functioned the same on all systems as far as design in concerned.

Developing for the lowest common denominator is one thing and many developers aim for parity across platforms but it didn't hold back developers who wanted to extract the most out of the One X (Gears 5, Horizon 4). These games wouldn't be much different if they were developed only for the enhanced console.

You know *somehow* CDPR are compromising Cyberpunk because they have to ensure the game runs on the weakest of consoles as well :p

Kind of like how Naughty Dog is making the weaker base console their priority. also explains the poor AF even you noticed :p

"Our target platform is the PS4, the base," Emilia Schatz, lead game designer on The Last of Us Part 2, tells USgamer

In that case they have a huge install base to cater and are a first party, not like a third party on the XBO, which sold maybe 1/5th of the PS4 :p

The bigger the install base the better for every developer :p

I do feel bad for the people who thought buying CDPR's game on PS4 would shift their focus on that platform though :tv:

At the very least you know which platform will get the more effort owing to the bigger install and sell-rate :p

Xbox X might power through ahead owing to its raw specs, but then again it may end up performing worse like many 2019 Multi Platform games did too.

As far as CDPR's engine is concerned, we know Pro doesn't have a good chance at being either the best looking or the best playing version between the consoles :p

With the 4K mode selected, key stress points like Crookback Bog and Heatherton village run at a flawless 30fps on Xbox One X. It's difficult to interrupt the game with even an occasional stutter in detail-rich environments like Novigrad too, showing there's still clearly lots of headroom for the console. Bearing in mind the sustained 25fps refresh on PS4 Pro during the Crookback area especially, it's a surprise to see its rival winning out in performance as well. For our money, the 4K mode on Xbox One X gives the smoothest, best-looking take on The Witcher 3 outside of the PC space.
It's only been a month since we claimed that Sony's super-charged PS4 possessed the best console version of The Witcher 3, but with this update, the crown has been passed on.
PS might power through ahead owing to its raw install base, but then again we know where you will be playing Cyberpunk 2077 like many 2019 multi platform games ;)

[h=1]People are openly mocking Sony’s new PS5 logo[/h]

Yes, it looks familiar

[FONT=&quot]

Sony’s keeping its next-generation console design a secret for a bit longer, but it’s got something to show: the PlayStation 5 logo. The company revealed the PS5 logo during its CES 2020 presentation on Monday night — and, likely, it’s the exact logo you may have expected. Everyone’s got a joke about it.
Let me walk you through it: Think of the PlayStation 4 logo, with white text on a black background. Delete the 4 and replace it with a 5, and there you have it. It’s not necessarily surprising that the logo is so similar; it’s closely following in the design style that’s been used since the beginning.

I think the jokes have something to do with the way it was revealed, on a big stage at a large technology event. Sony Interactive Entertainment president CEO Jim Ryan kicked off Sony’s CES press conference by talking up Sony’s consoles, leading into the reveal: “I’m pleased to show you, for the first time, our new logo.”
Whatever the reason, the internet’s been flooded with jokes — not surprising, either — about the PS5 logo.

Sony’s slowly been revealing new information about the PS5 ahead of the console’s holiday 2020 release window, but we still don’t know what the box looks like. Microsoft, on the other hand, showed off its next-generation console during The Game Awards 2020 — a big, sleek tower called the Xbox Series X. Like the PS5, it’s coming during the holiday season.

when its not broke dont fix it.
The same can't be said for Manigamer's copy pasting skills :p

So just like you who bought a 21:9 certified PC and then abandoned it to play irresistible exclusives on PS4 while also singing songs of praise for Xbox One X

The funniest thing is I get flack for owning a gaming capable PC .. a PC is a necessity for much more than gaming .. a PS4 isn't. For someone who supposedly hates it so much, going out of their way to buy a PS4 and play games on it is just odd behavior :p

Still going with that "much more than gaming" excuse to cover up the fact that a "gaming PC" is your necessity?
