So I kind of burned my bridges here

My current situation is kind of precarious. My qualification (as of now) is FSc. Pre Med. Medical, as a whole, kind of got boring for me because of it's repetitive nature and the constant grind to be on top. So I shifted myself to my other interest, computing. Immediately applied to University of South Asia, LHR, in BSCS. Got accepted, started to get into the university life.

I dropped out during the second semester due to there being constant issues with degree accreditation as well as an unstable administration. I was not alone, some 30 of us in BSCS dropped out, including 5 of my close friends. I had a nice 3.9 GPA.

All of us applied to UOL. During their first admission campaign, we were led into the wrong test hall and ended up giving the test for Computer Eng. Naturally, we couldn't qualify. We did some talking with the admins there, and they told me that I specifically didn't qualify because I was pre. med. even though their prospectus doesn't state that (it does specify pre med or pre eng for other degrees, just not for the ones related to Computing). The admission director told us that he would figure out something during the next campaign (which is now). I'm scheduled to meet him on this Monday.

So what I'm worried about is that I won't get accepted while my Pre. Eng. friends will, and I didn't really score well in FSc so I can't turn back and go into medical. I'm at crossroads here. Any advice would be appreciated. Do I have to pull out the tried and true "get someone to pull some strings for you" method?

Wow, one hell of a situation, lol.
Your FSC Pre-Medical is a HUGE disadvantage for you. For now, meet with the director and see how things go. Despite that, any support or "strings you can pull" would be beneficial for you because most of the better CS universities don't like a pre-medical background. If you studied Maths then you're good to go.

If nothing works out then maybe take a gap year, give ICS exams (based on the requirements of your preferred unis), study Comp Sci courses online through edX, mitOCW, coursera etc, and apply to universities next year again.

I think there are some universities which offer BSCS to medical students. They then have to take separate maths courses during their first or 2nd years. Don't remember their names tho.
Try searching, maybe you'll find some.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll meet up with the director and see where it goes from there. I guess I'll keep this updated if something happens.

Congrats!

Maybe you could, in a post, write about the details of your talk and tips pertinent to such a case. Can be helpful for other people potentially in this situation.

Well, probably the most important thing to do is don't waste your time with lower-tier management. Go straight to the director of admissions/whatever head honcho is at the university and talk with him.
In my case particularly, you CAN get admission with a pre-medical background, just score well on their aptitude test. The admissions office will likely tell you that it's not possible, but I'm assuming it's just to keep a bulk of pre-medical failures such as myself from entering this field, and it's also perhaps a bit of an issue with the HEC.

I'm being told that my degree could have trouble getting recognized by the HEC but that is a non-issue as I have several links inside.

The only proper/legit way I know uptill now is to give Maths paper additionally if you want to switch from Medical to Engg/Science. fields like CS. Don't know the details about that tho. Also it seems SZABIST doesn't enforce the restriction for pre-engg only students tho they do state that students with mathematical background will be preferred. Don't know if this is just a marketing strategy to capture more and more students for their test or maybe some of them really have gotten inside.

Anyways good luck and I can only hope you don't waste your time and get into trouble later in recognization of your degree.

Your biggest mistake was to tell those guys that you already FSc. Pre Med. Medical. Omitting that fact you had saved a lot of trouble. Lifes can change with a lot of willpower We are afraid to change but once done the first steps it goes smoothly further and you won't look back.

No other Computer Science facilities over there?
