Hi friends,

I have been looking for a replacement to my Moto X Play for some time that has served me very well from the past 2 years. It has everything that I desire in a daily driver.

I have narrowed down my options to the followings:
  • Motorola Moto Z Play
  • Motorola Moto G5 Plus
  • Xiaomi Mi A1
  • OnePlus 5T
  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+

As you can see I am open to jump from mid-range to high-end from last generation if it is worth it. I only have few specific requirements, i.e. it has to have an AMOLED screen and near-stock Android is my preference but I can take risk going with TouchWiz as well. Dual-SIM is optional.

1) Old, but... gold. (that was so cringeworthy)

2) Why is this an option?

3) Good phone. If the budget allows something better, get something better.

4) Great phone with great Dev support. Cameras are disappointing.

5) Just... No.

6) Yes. If it's priced appropriately.

G5 Plus? It is a Motorola phone and I am a slut for their devices. Though it does not have an AMOLED panel but I have read good stuff about it but I can skip this one.

The S8 price is 64.5k at iShopping. Thoughts?

Yeah, but your budget allows for a flagship and you'd choose a mid range device?

Overpriced as fuck. Don't pay anything above 60k for an S8 plus.

If you like Motorola, you'll probably like OnePlus. Get a 5T if you can.

Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk[/QUOTE]It's not bad I guess. Just keep in mind the resale value isn't too great.

How come S8+ at 64k is overpriced and 5T not?
The S8+ is older and AFAIK, the 64k one doesn't come with official warranty whereas the 8/128 5T for 64k comes with 1 year warranty as well and like I said since you're a fan of Moto phones, you'll like the 5T.

Damn that offer is valid for a limited time and I will be buying it next month. Suppose if it expires, then is 58k without warranty a good price for 6/64 variant?

Yeah it's fine. Just keep in mind the bit about resale value, but aside from that, it's fine. The phone will easily last 2 years or more considering the dev support for custom ROMs that's available on XDA for OnePlus phones.

I personally don't mind the bad resale value, I don't change phones frequently.... Take for example the one I have right now Moto X Play, I bought it brand new for 30k 2 years back and still going strong - runs 7.1.1 officially but the security patch is from September last year.
