Share your experiences regarding PTA Patched Devices

The websites like Priceoye etc sells repacked / activated devices, what if they also patch a device with another dead phone of same model, we usually verify the imei on PTA's website whether it's legal, but in the aforementioned case, PTA would also call it PTA Compliant device and show same model. So there're many ways to cheat, they don't allow us to open box, otherwise it can be checked by formatting device.

Formating the device doesn't remove the IMEI since its been done via EFS/NVRAM partition or CERT in case of Samsung.

Guys my brother is using Oneplus 8 5G UW which is PTA Patached off course but stuck on Andoird 11. There any several OTA updates available but as the phone is patched so it's a bit risky to update to the latest Android. Does anyone try to update?

Depends on the method it was patched, If it is a hacky method like rooting it and changing QCN then it cannot be updated, if it is was patched via UMT tool then it can be updated.

If its already rooted then backup QCN file and update it if it fails then downgrade and restore the QCN file to regain the "PATCH"

Always take a nandroid backup of your IMEI/QCN before upgrading And have you checked your IMEI by dialing *#06#? It its empty/null then you're out of luck, You have to get it done from market.

Also try to go back to stock by flashing android 13 firmware, You can find guides at XDA.

yes bro updated to Global Version with the help of XDA, now Alhamdulillah its working fine now on android 13

I am using PTA patched phone for 5 months, highly recommended. I am just feeling bad that I cannot update my device. My phone is 1+ 9.

does it create problem for banking apps or update?

yes bro updated to Global Version with the help of XDA, now Alhamdulillah its working fine now on android 13

I have downgraded LE2127 (T-Mobile) ROM to Global ROM, after downgrading it I upgraded via one plus software update!
