My friend,

What did I tell you in my first response in this thread?

Just buy a smartphone that appeals most to you. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a fantastic smartphone. And Android Marshmallow is a stable and user-friendly OS. It should be enough.

I am using Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and I find it absolutely satisfactory for my needs. Now, my needs include extensive gaming sessions, not just FB and Whatsapp.

So if a mid-range Samsung smartphone is that good, Galaxy Note 5 should be more than enough to satisfy any user.

Otherwise, import is an option.
Thank you for your responses friend. If I think too much about it I will never end up getting a phone lol. I would have waited but my current phone is on its last legs so I really have to get something. I will get something I feel good about. no worries.

which problems do you talk about can you explain ??
Most of the problems are software glitches. Some have reported the screen shattering by itself. There is whole lot that is going wrong with the S7 or I might be reading the posts where people have bought faulty phones.

you might be googling hardware problems/faults in S7, google it with any phone's name and it will show you problems

saving 10-15k for late updates (in AT&T and T-Mobile case) i don't mind that everyone has their own priorities anyway, and yea i agree on you on 1 point don't ever get a Sprint Variant It sucks.

buy somehow 4G is working from all carriers here on Verizon so why don't get it.
-> Late updates
-> Bloatware
-> Different icons in the status bar (3G shows as 4G on T-Mobile due to a stupid HSPA+ marketing strategy in the US)
-> Possible blacklisted IMEIs making the phone useless if you were to go outside Pakistan
-> If you are conscious about how your phone looks, the carrier icons on the back (with the exception of T-Mo and Sprint) are a bit annoying. The AT&T globe and Verizon logo.
-> Locked bootloaders (as I said earlier for Verizon and AT&T)
-> Band priority (No, I don't mean band support). Most devices DO support Band 3 and 5 used in Pakistan, BUT in the end, especially for Verizon and AT&T phones, the phones are built to be used on their home networks, the hardware will always be searching for AT&T's Band 2 or their Band 5 LTE, increasing battery consumption in the background.

4G works on all variants except Sprint.

Mate Americans get phones on contract/plans with their repective carrier/network operator nothing dumb about that. Those carrier phones are made for their specific markets not Pakistan.

There are no American carriers in Pakistan and their logo plastered onto a phone being used in Pakistan does look rather a bit cheap because Pakistanis have never gotten those phone from those carriers. This is my personal opinion.

I have a phone that I did get on a contract but I PAID for the service in full, it has no logo on the back.

Do you think the store owners are dumb in Pakistan selling carrier phones for cheap? Wouldn't they want more profits? but they cant because these phones are not typical to pakistani market and dont necessarily support bands here.

they can pay 100% and buy whatever they want without carrier.
They pay 100% to have the device unlocked and all to themselves, not with a contract.

Paying full price doesn't remove the bloatware, or give you faster updates, you get exactly the same carrier phone as you would if you were in a contract, except this time it's SIM unlocked out of the box instead of at the end of your contract.

If you're talking about buying international variant devices, well not a lot of devices support the right bands for the US (only a few high end models do), and Americans are very conscious about warranties, international model (i.e: F variant phones), don't have warranties in the US.

-> Late updates 15k>>>>>>>>-> Late updates

-> Bloatware >>>> Can be removed

-> Different icons in the status bar (3G shows as 4G on T-Mobile due to a stupid HSPA+ marketing strategy in the US) >>>>>> Are you kidding me now ? :laugh1::laugh1:

-> Possible blacklisted IMEIs making the phone useless if you were to go outside Pakistan >>>>> Valid point in which countries i may ask ?

-> If you are conscious about how your phone looks, the carrier icons on the back (with the exception of T-Mo and Sprint) are a bit annoying. The AT&T globe and Verizon logo. >>>>>> it's a personal preference (AT&T globe looks great on New design Samsung phones (s6 onwards) to me Verizon is not good i agree.

-> Locked bootloaders (as I said earlier for Verizon and AT&T) Not a problem for everyone but yeah if you like to root your devices and stuff better get a factory unlocked one.

You can change the network priority to global LTE/CDMA or LTE/GSM/UMTS in sets so i don't think it will search for CDMA signals when you are in LTE/GSM/UMTS mode no ?
4G works on all variants except Sprint.

All in all Carrier phones are a bargain and you get what you pay for.

But sometimes if you are smart enough you find a great phone very easily.

Mate if you are happy with carrier phones thats ok with us, but some of us dont like buying American carrier phones. we aren't trying to convince you to buy non carrier phone, so please stop insisting that carrier phones are better just because they are cheap.

I have one question for you, why would any store owner sell carrier phones cheaper than non carrier ones? Dont profits matter to them. There is always a reason if a good is going for lower than the average market price.

but americans can buy the phones without contract/plans like you want to buy a factory unlocked phone here it's your preference yet you don't want to go all in and looking to cut corners.
So i just stated your options also those carrier phones work perfectly fine here and globally if you get the correct one.

You can get T-mobile/Sprint if you don't like logos also its your personal opinion so can't count it anyway

You can get a Carrier phone without logos, also you are someone who uses your phones with covers as you mentioned earlier that One plus one 3 won't have those accessories here so you are using your phone with cheap chinese covers and you are telling me that you have problems with logos from american carriers  also those covers you use hide logos and the beautiful back of the phone.

the shopkeepers don't sell those phones for cheap prices they get what the highest they can get for the devices because they can't sell the phone for a boxed packed phone can they ?

I am not forcing you to buy a carrier phone but in one post you want to save $$$ so you get advice accordingly.

and everyone has a different perspective of seeing this you have a different perspective then me and it's fine.

but in my opinion you are a confused person this thread has like 50/60 posts excluding mine and you are still undecided that is not very wise or smart for my standards.

It just makes sense getting a phone on contract/plan overseas cause you can get credit(minutes for calling) and a phone together in one monthly payment and dont have to pay upfront for an unlocked phone. Paying $600-1200 upfront is expensive and cost distributed over time is more affordable for people.

You do realise some of these phones are stolen and for others people have signed contracts and then runoff to Pakistan?

Before calling me not so smart maybe you should have a look at your posts that you have written they do say a lot about you. Im not here to argue with you but avoid calling people not smart and ignorant.

Calm down guys. It takes a while to decide what phone is right, especially if you're in it for the long run.

And though I can agree to a certain extent that Carrier phones do the same as international models for a lot less, it all depends on personal preference and how much you want to spend. I personally wouldn't ever buy one because I tinker with my phones too much and Carrier phones just aren't right for me.

This thread being 8 pages long reminds me of me as a 12 year old on PG when I would make a thread, gear up about buying a new phone and then not buy anything. [emoji14]
