Greetings, I am curious as to why the PG website appears to have decreased in activity recently. Although I am aware that the previous management team has retired, I am unsure why other moderators and administrators have also abandoned the website, leaving it in a state of limbo.

There seem to be numerous errors present on the website, and there appears to be a lack of regulations governing the marketplace. Many individuals are posting items without providing proof of ownership, images, or pricing information.

Additionally, there appear to be no rules for "bumping" of threads. Furthermore, the website is currently experiencing issues with resetting passwords. Overall, it is disheartening to see the decline of Pakgamers and its loss of charm.

Aside from the errors.
There's so many reasons but one major reason I've encountered in the last 3 years is the fact that its gotten extremely hard to compete against Facebook groups.

Pakistanis simply do not understand how the internet works outside of facebook.

After 2010 mobile internet users are increasing and today up to 65% internet users are from smartphones, Which even don't know about computers because they haven't use desktop PC in their entire life, Most users are dumb and they use social media mostly Facebook or Instagram or YouTube from smartphones because it is easy for them to use. they don't know about anything else , Even today's 90% of Laptop or desktop users just know Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11, they don't know about Windows 3.1, Windows 95 / 98, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and even have not heard about MS-DOS. they just know about Core i series or F*ckin Apple which is just famous after 2000 iPhone release. they don't know about IBM XT / AT, 80286, 386SX, 386DX, 486SX, 486DX,486DX2, Pentium Pro, P1, P2, P3, P4. they don't even heard about Atari Computer, Sinclair ZX spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000, Amiga 1200, MSX Computer.

So the new generation is moving to social media instead of Search engines / forums / websites / blogs. They just like to search on Facebook, YouTube, because it's easy for them. because they can't use anything else.

That's why I hate social media.

PG marketplace is almost dead now ... i dont remember the last time when i sold anything on PG but i really miss those days because sellers and buyers were so informed and easier to deal with ....
This site is so near and dear to my heart and i have so many memories associated with it

yes its sad seeing it in such a state ..it used to be bustling with activity back in the day with so many well informed and tech savy members that i felt confident that i would always find answer to what i was looking for and there would be so many interesting conversations going on in almost every sub forum...it was almost addicting and i would check back again and again just to see what was up. i didh hope that it would make a comeback which was always unlikely because almost all of the older members who made pg 'pg' had moved on to other things .... oh well atleast we got to saw PG in its prime.it really was something great.

One more thing I have to add is that ....Mostly mobile companies offer cheap packages like 5gb or 10gb data for Rs.50 or 100 for the whole month only for YouTube, Whats-app, Facebook or other social media sites.

So mostly students, low / middle class users specially from 3rd world countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh subscribe these types of low cost internet packages on their mobile phones and surf YouTube or other social media sites like Facebook for 24/7 entire month, instead of using search engines / forums or going to online stores / or other informative websites.

Because they can't have access to other websites due to mobile internet package restrictions. Even they don't have much balance or money to subscribe to the all way / full flush expensive internet package. That's why the huge populations of 3rd world countries rush on Social media like Facebook or YouTube.
