I found the NX Gamer review to be most objective as compared to the blind XBox fanboy reviews at Digital Foundry.


Summary: RE4 Remake has issues across all formats.

XBox: Worse Performance, worst Controller, and broken VRR.

The dead zone issue on Xbox is the far worse as it makes the aiming extremely bad.
Performance mode is worse in both Resolution and Performance mode as compared to PS5.

PS5: Worse Image Quality (flickering light, blurry image), but stable Performance.

User Comments:
I played it on pretty much everything, and that haptic feedback in the controller will be more immersive. I'll take the game on PS5 because of the dual sense, which Is well implemented. Just the dual sense made this game play on a hole different level on the ps5!!!

The aa pass on PS5 can likely be patched to fix the clarity issue. The Series X can't magically generate a better framerate without optimization and cutbacks to certain settings


Steam: Heavy Stutters, Worse performance even on 720P low settings. A pathetic value compared to the price, tbh.

PC: Crashes quite a few times on PC due to memory stomping. Fatal 3D error on less than 8GB cards.

Shader compilation issues even with a 4090. And in pc the implementation of FSR 2 is worse than FSR 1 in terms of image quality.

The game crashes a lot even on systems with 12GB with RT enabled. 24 GB of VRAM needed
[for a smooth performance without crashes, which is insane since RTX 3090 PC deals costs between $2,000 and $3000, and RTX 4090 PC price goes up to $3500!!
Compare that to $500 consoles without any crashes, only a fool will believe PC gaming is a better value deal]

And Alex literally says "at times". But CerebralTiger takes that to mean that the crashes happen to every one at all times. Dem double standards in comprehension YIKESS! :ROFLMAO:
He said "at times" for instances where the required VRAM exceeds what's available. The issue does affect GPUs with 16 GB VRAM and RT on or those that don't have RT on at all 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

The issuoooe has been tested comprehensively by ComputerBase as well 🤷‍♂️

As far as I'm concerned, content is king. Then comes performance, followed by image quality. Best version remains best. Here's hoping they add aiming using eye tracking for the PSVR2 mode :LOL:🤜

Also, they ditched the reshade RTGI for this. Naa honay se to behtar hi tha. RT is even more useless now in this game.
From Software has a new challenger when it comes to poor RT implementations :ROFLMAO:

But for a console first developer, consoles having to turn it OFF for stable performance is major YIKES!

That's a looong list of issues and the last time DF covered controller issues to this extent was Red Dead Redemption 2. Crapcom really dropped the ball with this one.

All of the issues from prior RE Engine console games seem to have returned here, alongside a convoluted set of visual options and other problems. Expect reconstruction artifacts, sub-60fps performance with no 30fps cap option, visual glitches, a strand-based hair option that looks worse than the default, image quality issues on PS5, very limited RT, poor and inconsistent option documentation, ugly screen-space reflections and controller response problems.

This is the extent to which you need to push the analogue sticks on Xbox Series X and PS5 to produce motion. All Xbox consoles have a massive deadzone issue that really needs to be addressed.

Plus, performance in the frame-rate mode on PS5 and Series X is still below expectations and Series S suffers further still. Even if Capcom doesn't untangle the mess of visual options here, the developer should tackle the frame-rate problems that plague even the game's fastest-running configurations.

PS5 version IQ is comparable to Series S running at 1080p as per DF.

The IQ is really bad, as for the controls, wo to thoda sa khel k banda used to hojata hai.

Data speaks for itself, and his video was unable to show frame rate dips below 57 on PS5 in Performance mode w/ RT off, even those being rare as evidenced by the stats VG Tech shared from the demo (which should be similar to the stats in the final game) :LOL:🤜

Show me where the PS5 data/stats in the video back it up. VG Tech's stats are quite telling 🤷‍♂️

It's important to distinguish what the source of the frame time spike is, and whether it can be mitigated by VRR. Therein lies your answer 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

    I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
