As per Alex, the asset streaming stutters in the PC version of TLOU Part 1 can't be fixed without possibly DirectStorage. As the game has already been shipped, it will likely not receive DirectStorage support, and the port will remain a stuttery mess

Looks like the combat isn't affected when the game loads in the background (you're just walking in empty spaces) so not really an isssooooue for me. Will get back to this once I'm done with RE4R

Combat ca definitely be affected. The new update also introduces shader compilation stutters that weren't previously there. Not to mention, it's not like exploring and searching for parts isn't a part of gameplay, which is when the loading stutters can occur

I mean, I wanted this to happen. I had already predicted the downfall of Naughty Dog. This is hardly surprising to me

Sony should shutdown the studio and double down on resources for Insomniac and Team Asobi

Man, this makes me soooo very sad. The original TLOU's MP is by far THE most underated MP game imo. I have spent close to 400 hours playing it and I have friends who have played more than 3 times of that. IT IS THAT GOOD.

I was so looking forward to this but I haven't completely lost hope. Maybe we'll see a slimmed down MP version of it eventually.

Truth is that most of the people involved with its development are no longer working at Naughty Dog. The current state of the studio is quite dire. It is one disaster away from Sony merging it with Bend Studio.

Naughty Dog was such a good company in the previous decade. I really enjoyed the clean and fun Uncharted series, which is my personal third-best video game series after MGS and RE games.

I guess the studio went woke and broke.

Companies that focus on promoting a minority ideology get what they deserve. Most western devs - EA, Activision, Blizzard, and others - and some Japanese one such as Square Enix (FFXVI banned in KSA due to gay content) are going down this way.

To hell with these companies, I now prefer indie games and also AAA games from Japanese devs like Capcom, FromSoftware, Namco, Konami, and others that are releasing one hit flawless games after another.
