MULTI Remedy focusing on Alan Wake 360

2001, 2003 - Remedy releases MAX PAYNE and MAX PAYNE 2 on PC FIRST before porting them to PS2 & Xbox.
2010 - Remedy is not even sure whether to release ALAN WAKE on PC

I miss days of exclusive PC releases like Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Far Cry, F.E.A.R. Max Payne 1&2, System Shock 2, AVP1&2, and the list goes on and on and on. I mean, these games were THE reason to buy an expensive gaming rig.

Give the casual (console) gamers a break... its just now that we are seeing games on a console comparable to the power of a PC, hence all the 'next-gen' hype. I mean... 1280x720 is just made available to the mass...on a PC, we yawn at the thought of running a game at 720p.
At the end of the day, its all a business...and developers will go where theres more green. But don't forget the 'Games For Windows' license, MS has to keep that alive... so PC gamers will never run out of games.

Gaming has long since abandoned PC's as the primary source for gamers, and with other problems (rampant piracy, and the lack of general appeal) it's kind of not surprising that most formerly PC only companies are now preferring console development.

Afterall, that's the point of a gaming console.

Like i said... Don't care. I hope Alan Wake has GREAT graphics and physics on consoles.. So great that it burns the GPU, again :tv:

^ The low price tag + no need to upgrade + no need of installing + easy multiplayer is THE reason people go for Xbox 360 rather than a PC. If a neutral party (like me) weighs the pros & cons of PC & console in 2009 from everybody's perspective, the console really REALLY wins. In the end, the choice is up to the individuals.

Consoles are for casual gamers, PC is for...how do i say it... hardcore gamers. And why the need to upgrade if money is an issue? If console games will be played on a fixed hardware for as long as it can last, then why not play the same games on a similar quality level on a PC? I have an old E2180 and X1950XT, and at 720p..with console equivalent settings, it can play pretty much any game out there. And that gfx card is old enough that you won't even find a used one.

But yes, majority of the audience buying consoles are not willing to 'install' a game and such. Its easy plug n play so that even a 12 year old could do it...so I guess in that dept. consoles do have an advantage. Theres little incentive for a decent PC owner to buy X360...only a handful of titles are not coming on the PC (Halo 3)...but things are different when you talk about Sony.

Timed exclusive or not...Alan Wake will surely come to PC. For now, it'll be released first on the X360 so its a no brainer that they are focusing more on it.
