I like consoles for the exclusive games and the lower price point to play games. I wouldn't like building an expensive gaming rig to play the latest games and maintaining it.

Games like Uncharted, God of War and The Last of Us have turned me into a Sony fanboy. But if Microsoft can make good exclusive games excluding Halo, Forza and Gears of War then I wouldn't mind buying both consoles provided I have the cash

Even I (not a console person) find it unreasonable to purchase lesser power (PS4 has relatively better graphics hardware than Xbox 1) for a hundred bucks more. Unless of course, the company selling it has some 'smart fanboys' or the console maker is a fruit company with consumers comparable to herds (of sheep) with unfathomable brand loyalties.
