Just google "my IP" and see what your IP starts with...if its lagging with the starting of IP 39...keep restarting till you get 119....if it lags there...restart till you get 182.

Basically thats the only solution that I found. Another that works is, using a VPN, something like HotSpot Shield Elite drops my latency right back to normal no matter what IP i have. But I dont want to use that for gaming incase I get banned for 3rd party apps being used to play.

I used to have static ip starting with 182, I got it disabled because I was facing this ping issue that most people are experiencing. Now my ip starts with 39 and no matter how many times I restart, it won't change the first number which are 39. Clearly, I've gone back to dynamic ip as the last numbers of my ip do change but the it still starts with 39. What should I do?

Try unplugging your modem for 10-15 minutes and plug it back in and see if it changes.

Still facing this issue and it's really annoying. Sometimes even restarting a 100 times doesn't work.
Any solution to this problem?o

I have the same issue since 1 month. Pings were in lower 150s before that. Now i get around 250,260. Any VPN i could try to reduce ping?

Try Killping or WTFast. Both worked great for me.

WTFast works great. I just installed it and it lowered my ping to 182ms and later 192ms for another server. Would absolutely recommend. Though its a subscription based service and I don't really want to pay 10$ a month atop of my ptcl bill.

Well then you can use Killping. You can have unlimited 3 day trials by using temporary mail and can create new accounts for free.

You can try nord vpn.they offer trial for 3 days.try it and see how it works out for you.

Well you can use VPN on ps4 by connecting your ps4 to your computer through ethernet. You can find a tutorial on Youtube.

Well - I'm not sure what links you have, but there are other websites which PTCL is messing up with as far as latency is concerned (not gaming, but generally). Can you do anything about those? The helpline doesn't care, and neither do their Twitter or email support desks.

E.g. when pinging to CNN, they have a node in the UAE (Cloudfare) which PTCL routes through, but it's 300ms instead of about 50ms.

Pinging www.bbc.co.uk is about 300ms. Proof.ovh.net is also 300ms. A few other UK websites are randomly between 220ms and 310ms instead of 160ms. Wikipedia is 150ms instead of 110ms (it used to go via Singapore, but isn't now). Twitter is 300ms.

And this is a GPON connection.

What would you accomplish, experience of using and loading that site would remain the same, they are not sites where decreasing latecncy would really matter

Pings are still same towards ASIA region 300+. ptcl's routing towards Amazon Asian servers is so bad and most of the currently popular games use amazon servers
and twitch.tv has severe buffering issues with PTCL it works flawlessly on stormfibre or fibrelink but ptcl keeps buffering even at 360p
