PTCL DSL problem need help!

Hey guys one of my problems is solved yesterday i dowloaded the apple safari browser and the online video playing problem is solved. On other browsers it stops several times but with apple safari it runs smooooooth

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM...AND ITS BEEN A WEEK NOW....

Now that is something strange....other browsers not working as good as safari....(maybe ur a apple corp advitiser lolz ) this shuldn't happen but if it does with u then atleast u got the solution.

Connection is 2mb.
Speed goes down to 2kbps in around 10 minutes....then it comes to a halt and doest work properly unless the modem is restarted.
Modem is Huwaii and heats up immediately....Ive used a direct fan and even an A/C to cool it down ......but the problem persists.

Will call PTCL soon....and if it doesnt help....ill get rid of it..

Is there any better DSL service with similiar charges for 2mb???? im using PTCL 2m for PKR 1400 (students package)

First borrow a router from ur friend try zhone..shiro or zte (i hope u got frnds with dsl conections) then see if the same problem comes..... the other reason for the router to be halt is also the flactuation of voltage which happens alot in PAK

Kaha na, check out the voltage or noise in the phoneline. OR REPLACE THE MODEM WITH ANOTHER ONE. There isnt any other reason for DCions in PTCL's DSL.

Reason = Disconnects alots
Sometimes it browse google too late

3. Your SNR & line attenuation are bad.

N Margin/Noise Margin/SNR (AKA Signal to Noise Margin or Signal to Noise Ratio)
Relative strength of the DSL signal to Noise ratio. 6dB is generally the lowest dB manufactures specify in order for the modem to be able to synch. In some instances interleaving can help raise the noise margin to an acceptable level. Generally speaking, as overall bandwidth increases, your signal to noise ratio decreases. So a customer that upgrades from 1.5 to 6.0 service will typically see a corresponding decrease in the signal to noise ratio. The higher the number the better for this measurement.
6dB or below is bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with no synch problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Line Attenuation
Measure of how much the signal has degraded between the DSLAM and the modem. Maximum signal loss recommendation is usually about 60dB. One of the biggest factors affecting line attenuation is distance from the DSLAM. Generally speaking, bigger distances mean higher attenuation. The lower the dB the better for this measurement.
20dB and below is outstanding
20dB-30dB is excellent
30dB-40dB is very good
40dB-50dB is good
50dB-60dB is poor and may experience connectivity issues
60dB or above is bad and will experience connectivity issues

First all of guyz.....who r using 2mb on students package....are not using 2-mb package at all....bcuz there packages have been downgraded ..bcuz...sum ppl were using ptcl student packages 4 wrong purposes. So dats y they have changed the existing packages to 1-mb ...those who were on 2-mb...are now downgraded to 1-mb packages. If u guyz dnt beleive me then call the ptcl helpline and den u guyz no the real truth....wat the f*** did they do with ur packages...without letting u no abt it. And dats y most of da ppl r facing speed problems.
THIS FOOLISHNESS IS ONLY PERFORMED ON THOSE PPL PACKAGES WHO WERE HAVING OR USING PTCL STUDENT PACKAGE OF 2-MB.

@hotgamerrft: 1stly bro....upgrade ur modem firmware or get new huawei hg-510 4rm ptcl. If u have any prob with ur modem then directly contact me. Ill set up ur modem perfectly.
And at last bro....change the splitter....that ur using. Bcuz most of the ppl does not no that the splitter which is given with zte modem is f*****up. When u attach this splitter i creats noice that results...in ur net disconnection as well as....ur speeds issues. Ill upload sum splitter pics that im using...and getting awasum speeds 4rm it. I think dat might b able 2 help u. And plz send me sum snapshots of ur modem phone line connection i wana check ur snr margin and line attenuation.

i am also having problems with watching online video even 1 min video
and dload speed is 55-65
after one or two weeks my line become dead some times internet light on modem remains off

Sorry dude, I don't agree with you on that. I myself was on 2Mbps student package. I called them to downgrade it to 1Mbps, but it actually never happened. I am still on 2 Mbps student package and still paying 1399PKR for it.

I AGREE WID wheels2go BCUZ I AM STILL PAYING 1,399pkr FOR 2MB BCUZ OUR CONNECTION IS NOT DOWNGRADED YET AND U ibrar444 WANT TO BET WHO R U U FOOL U DONT KNOW ANY THING SO JUST GO AND SLEEP WID UR FILTERS AND ROUTERS .
