Hello People,

OK. So the thing is that I have a laptop and a desktop, I wish to work on my laptop relaxing in my room so I got this wireless modem, its linksys and the model is WRT54G.

Now I follow all the instruction and make the connection as instructed and the connection icon appears but I can't access the Internet.

I use PTCL dsl so I was wondering if I have to do some extra settings, I've contacted PTCL but they were of no help. Hope someone here knows how to fix this thing.

Regards,
Hira.

I copied all the fields in TCP/IP properties, but now I am getting this error "Windows - System Error, There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network" and I am unable to change any settings now :(

Hey guys,

I finally did it. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

For future reference for dummies like me, here is what I did:

I connected directly through ptcl modem (Shiro), went to 192.168.1.1, over here the dns server addresses were different then the ones in TCP/IP properties. So I copied those and connected my wireless router now between the ptcl modem and my computer, went to 192.168.1.1 again. Now it showed linksys settings, I selected PPPoE, entered username and password provided by ptcl, entered the new dns server addresse, clicked save settings and that worked!

Thank you everyone, you guys directed me on the right path.

Regards,
Hira.
