This is made by NV Lightspeed Studios, not Valve, using the RTX Remix toolset.

Modders can basically use this tool for any game to achieve similar results. Would be fascinating to see what the community comes up with.

Yep this is normal ray tracing not DLSS 3 I'm pretty sure it will have DLSS 2 in the game

DLSS 3 is 4000 series cards only

I won't be surprised if people find a way to run DLSS 3 on 3000 series. It obviously will have a larger overhead than 4000 series however.

Alex's thoughts on the specs:

Just so people get a sense why they might be so high. RTX Remix most likely cannot rely on secondary structures and such really to get multiple bounces for Global Illumination. As a counter example, games like metro exodus have the second bounce for its global illumination be done with probe based RTXGI: which is far cheaper than sending out more rays.

They cannot do that here perhaps? So multiple bounce GI has to be done in the old fashioned way... with new rays spawned for extra bounces. Sure would be expensive!

Safe to say this ain't ever coming to consoles.

Portal with RTX presents a fully ray-traced version of Portal, to the point where the ray-traced light show beams through the various portals you play with.
